Unfortunately not good. We stopped on our way to Vermont based on the great reviews but we were not as fortunate. The pork tacos were extremely dry. The guacamole consisted of fresh avocado and was pretty good. We won’t be stopping here again.

If you don’t mind the fact that the building(inside and out) is a total dump, you will be rewarded with some great, authentic Mexican food. I personally love this place. It’s cash only, and the menu is kind of confusing, but the family running the place is great. Ceviche is delicious, as is everything else I’ve tried here. Try it out! Definitely better than the Anglicized«Mexican Food» at places like Margarita’s.

Cash Only. I ordered four Carne Asada tacos to go. They were hot, super fresh, and came topped with cilantro and diced onions. You also get a container of spicy, tangy tomatillo salsa on the side. The meat is double wrapped in corn tortillas warmed on the flat top. Delicious.

Nice little hole in the wall Mexican joint. I had the gorditas and they were fresh and good. They didn’t have much of a selection for meats, but maybe I hit them at the wrong time. Still I gave them 4 stars because this is what others have said: an authentic and tasty taqueria, something almost totally absent from the ‘Shire.

Amazing authentic Mexican food! Third place was recommended by a Dartmouth College co-worker who happens to be from Mexico. I haven’t had tacos like this since I moved from Chicago. It’s a small restaurant you’d find in any city so I wasn’t surprised. The cook was a sweet older lady who didn’t speak Spanish but I’ve been taking classes recently so I was excited to practice hablando español. We only ordered chicken and beef tacos with rice and beans but came back before heading back home to order cena. We will be back!

CASHONLY! This place has good reviews, but we went at 12:30 and no one was at the counter. At least that gave us time to see the«cash only» sign and leave. Maybe I’ll try some other time

Oh my goodness, this place is a stitch. The cook and only person working didn’t speak a lick of English. Thankfully, my rudimentary Spanish got me by. The menu is a plastic mat affixed to the wall. The selections are basic. No made up chimichangas here. The pork tacos and gordita I ordered reminded of those I had been served in CA and Mexico. There is no pretense. It’s not fancy. Asking for a jalapeño I was served right out of a plastic container with a fork. It made sense and so does the food. Along with the loud Spanish trilling from the kitchen the food compliments the atmosphere. In the land of Chipotles and the dreadful Taco Bell, the authenticity of this place will bring me back for more.

The carnitas was okay. The birria too salty. Menudo was good. Sopes was okay too. But then it was all takeout. Overall, not that impressed.

They made me a veg burrito which I don’t think is part of the normal offerings. The vegetable inclusions were fine, but the rice, beans, cheese, and toasted tortilla were delicious. Especially with the addition of the green salsa, which is the spicier option. Incredibly crispy free chips were also served to us with red salsa, which I didn’t like quite as much as the green. But, I’m a sucker for free homemade chips and salsa. Parking with all the snow was an effort, and there is nothing around it, but it was super cheap, delicious, and filling.

Food is good and very cheap. Sure, the place is a little run down, but it’s a neighborhood taqueria, not a fine dining establishment. The dining room seems to double as a shrine to Jenni Rivera, a Mexican pop singer who was killed in a plane crash a few years ago. The green salsa is quite spicy and very tasty. I generally don’t like sides of rice served at Mexican restaurants, but their’s is quite good, not bland at all. To top it all off, dinner for two people set us back $ 14.

Unbeatable Mexican in a not so pretty place. Four stars because the food is really that good. We ordered mixed meat enchildas and chicken flautas. Both were excellent, as were the red salsa and salsa verde. Looking forward to trying the menu… looks like one of those places you can’t go wrong.

Be prepared for communication trouble if you don’t speak Spanish. Be prepared to freeze it was 45 in the restaurant. Be prepared for leisurely service. And then be prepared for some rocking good food! «Mom» is cooking up a home cooked storm in the kitchen. The carnitas tacos were crazy good.

The food we got was very fresh and tasty, and the takeout was packaged well. I don’t remember the names of the things I got but one was pork and one was vegetarian. They were both made of corn flour. The chips are decent and the salsa is very spicy. The price was right.

Best authentic Mexican ever!!! If it’s being made by folks who don’t speak English you know your in the right place. I could eat there every day. My advice is: learn what chicken and beef are in Spanish, don’t be frightened by the appearance and don’t judge a book by its color.

Muy Bueno. Excellent Authentic Mexican we had the Agua de Horchatta kinda like an Almond/Rice Milk Chai Spiced drink. The food was truly authentic. The Menudo was very tasty the broth really makes the difference. It would help if you speak Spanish. The people are very nice. You have to go! Everything is homemade and made to order. Even the tortillas are homemade.

Cash only business All I had was the chicken taco. Tons of flavor. Cooked fresh to order. Nice friendly guy. Will go back with more cash and explore the menu. Limited menu. I have been back a few times since my original draft. Everything is good. Fresh chips. Super friendly. Hidden gem Thank you

The food was very good. We did not want to eat any meat on that day so our options were limited at the restaurant. But the owner/chef/cook said she suggested some options that she can make without meat. The vegetarian quesadilla was very tasty. Our 12 – 13 year old cute little server who was helping her mom, translated what we said to spanish and made sure that we get what we wanted and it was meat free.

This place was awesome! Doesn’t look like much from the outside(or inside for that matter) but it was a great experience. I spent two months in San Antonio frequenting the many taquerias there, this place matches or beats anything I had down there. Don’t go for the décor, that’s for sure, but the food is terrific. The menu is small but it is all great. I had the beef and chicken enchiladas, others I was with had sopes and carnitas. Ingredients were all fresh, cooked timely, and for the price the portions were huge. The guacamole and the beans were especially awesome. Also, chips and in-house salsa served gratis. A local taqueria well worth many return visits!
