The apartment itself is not bad. We are in the newest building of them all, and it is the only smoke free building they offer. That was important for us with our toddler, and because we both do not smoke. The only downside is that there are trigger happy with eviction notices. For instance, we just received an eviction notice for being 120 $ behind on our utility bill. Yup… Our utility bill. So if you like eviction notices for 1⁄12 of our rent, which by the way has just surpassed 1200 $, then this is the place for you

Lived here for about three months now. The unit itself isn’t that bad, just very dated. The appliances are very old, stove and dishwasher appear to be from the mid to late 80’s, and the A/C unit looks to be the same, haven’t and don’t plan on using any of them. Hot water is good and hot, but doesn’t last long at all. 10 minute shower or a sink of dishes and that’s it. The bathroom is pretty bad, old stained toilet, sink drain with hair and who knows what else stuck in it, and the same with the shower. Also, the floor squeaks almost everywhere you walk. There is a communal washer and dryer on each floor, that are operated with a card that you add value to at the main office. It’s pretty expensive, they are both small, single load, and costs $ 3.75 for one wash and one dry. The grounds aren’t too bad, fairly well kept, but can’t say much about them yet as I haven’t seen them in the nice weather yet. They don’t do a good job plowing though, at all. After it snows, there’s ice and snow still all over the parking lot, and they seem to be very frugal with the salt and sand. And even though you pay over a grand a month and have a sticker assigned to you, they will have you towed without warning after a snowstorm, which really isn’t right. At least try giving a call first. And if you’re going to tow residents who live here, maybe you should tow the ones without stickers who don’t, cause there’s plenty of those. My biggest complaint about this place is the noise and apparent safety of the complex. I’ve found people just wandering the halls at night who obviously don’t belong there, lobby doors propped open, just doesn’t feel too safe. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything that goes on. There are constant parties, people yelling, insanely loud music that never lets up, dogs barking all the time, doors slamming, just incessant noise. And the fire doors are always left open, which I’m pretty sure they’re not supposed to be. Oh, and the entire building reeks of cigarette smoke– lobby, staircase, our unit, everything. Even our clothes smell like it just from being in the closet. We already decided that after our lease is up, we’re out of here.

After reading all the complaints here I don’t know if I want to live here? Planning on moving here from another Red Oak Apt. I don’t even own an animal! Why should I move somewhere to step in dog poop all the time? Why do they even allow animals in the first place?
