Done with Pastrami on Wry. The service is generally lousy but i enjoy the sweet potato hash for breakfast, so I’m always just overlook the poor service. We went there for breakfast today and even that will no longer compel me to go back. Every time we go in there, and we’ve been there a number of times, the waitresses are more concerned with chatting with each other and drinking their juice than they are with taking care of customers. Today our meals must have been sitting a bit before the waitress brought them out(we did have a longer wait for the food), as my hash was barely warm. Since she never came back to check on us and we didn’t have time to return it and wait another long wait, I ate it. It was was just OK. We’ll go to other nearby breakfast places in the future.

The food is great but the service is a nightmare! We sat at the counter for at least five minutes before we were given menus, despite the fact that several waiters walked passed us. Even more disappointing was the fact that I ordered a cold sandwich for lunch… And it took 40 minutes! Fortunately everything came out right and was very good. The pricing is fantastic. Just avoid this place at busy times and you’ll enjoy it.

Always great. The new location is busy and we’ve been here when it’s packed with service a bit slow. But overall it’s great service and food!

Excellent choice. good service, polite staff, good sandwiches, salads, clean environment and most importantly the pricing is more fair then Rein’s. I just hope I can still just walk in a instantly get seated.

The new location definitely brings Pastrami on Wry up so much, in my opinion! After a busy morning last weekend, my sister and I stopped in. It was perfect as we were in Bolton, wanted to go somewhere we don’t always go and I wanted breakfast and she wanted lunch. I was super impressed by the design of the new restaurant — had a very inviting and new vibe to it. I got the egg white vegetable omelet with«wry» toast and hash browns. I definitely enjoyed my breakfast, although I was not a huge fan of the hash browns. But honestly, I was full enough with the rest of the breakfast! My favorite part was actually the toast! The omelet was fine, but not the best I’ve ever had. All in all, the food was good, the service was great, restaurant had a great vibe… I will definitely return and try something else out!

After visiting Pastrami on Wry, I was left with one question: How had I never been here before? I’ve long been a fan of Corey’s Catsup and Mustard, but for some reason we’d never visited this spot. My family decided to drop in to Pastrami on Wry on a recent morning while we were out running errands in the Manchester area. It’s located in a small strip mall with a decent-sized parking lot. The restaurant itself is rather large, with tables, booth seating, and a counter with stools. The place is super-casual. I would characterize Pastrami on Wry as a deli; it reminded me of two delis I loved in the Boston area, Zaftigs and Joan & Ed’s(which has since closed). The menu contains a number of different sandwiches and sides for lunch, but we focused on the breakfast menu. It’s large but not overly extensive, and includes the usual familiar categories(eggs, omelets, sandwiches, pancakes, etc.). There are also a number of hashes which are offered, ranging from the traditional corned beef hash to veggie and chicken hashes. We tried the pancakes, sausage, hash fries, and the egg and hash sandwich. All were very good, comparable to the better deli/breakfast spots in the area. The food had good flavor and was cooked to order. I wasn’t sure if the hash and egg sandwich would be a bit too much or too salty, but the spicing was well-balanced. The hash fries were excellent, crisp and not too greasy. The wait staff was extremely friendly, and they have a solid kid’s menu as well. It’s a great spot for kids given the menu options and the atmosphere. Overall this is a spot I’ll definitely come back to in the future.

When you stroll out of a restaurant and can’t think of one thing that possibly could have made your dining experience any better, you know you’ve just walked out of a solid place. That’s my impression of Pastrami on Wry. It was outstanding! Five-star outstanding. They serve breakfast all day, so that’s where we went– two terrific omelletes(Crispy Chicken & Avocado and Willie’s Steak), and a Santa Fe Ranchero Wrap. They were all between $ 7 and $ 7.25. My Ranchero Wrap was stellar –absolutely packed with scrambled egg beaters(just a 75 cent up-charge), guacamole, salsa, chili, and cheddar. It was a steal for $ 7.25. But wait, there’s more! Their breakfasts are served with«hash fries». You’ve been out to breakfast a zillion times, right? You’re always asked«hash browns or home fries», right? You can never remember what the hell the difference is right? Well, Pastrami and Rye has spared you from having that embarrassingly awkward conversation with your server by splitting the difference and offering both kinds mixed together. Think of it as the love child of breakfast potatoes. The top layer of shredded hash browns is very crispy and addictive, but as your fork digs in, you’ll find some nice fluffy cubed home fries. Yes, we all can get along after all! The restaurant is nicely decorated, brightly lit and clean as a whistle. It’s laid out in a long rectangle(a lot like Blue Plate Kitchen in West Hartford) with about 20 booths and tables, and about 12 counter spots. You can sit at the bar and watch TV if you want, there were a few college FB games on yesterday. Their menu is huge, making Pastrami more like a New Jersey diner than a sandwich place, so don’t be misled by their name. Service was very good from the moment we walked in and were greeted by the friendly host. He had a nice personality and made us feel welcome. Our server(Sara) was attentive, efficient and friendly, and was right there with coffee refills, and extra butter when we asked for it. Seriously, we had a great time and those three breakfasts for $ 30.84 was a very fair price for an excellent combination of food and dining experience. Oh yeah, I finally thought of one thing that could have been better. The bottle of hot sauce on our table was just about empty. If that’s all I got on the negative side of the ledger, you know I loved Pastrami on Wry!

Oh wow, my review was in desperate need of an update… It was 5 years old and still based upon the old location.(I’ve been to the new one a few times already.) Now that they have moved to this new location, which is way larger inside than it seems like it would be from the outside, they have a much nicer setup, and infinitely better parking. Everything looks new, clean and well laid out. Good for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and most of the prices seem very affordable. I had the Hungry-man-chester this last time(today), which came with 3 eggs any style, a couple pieces of bacon and sausage, french toast, a pancake, hashbrowns and toast, all for $ 8.75! What a great and affordable option for people that tend to waffle on what to order(ha, horrible breakfast pun). There was still so many other good options, however, so I know I’ll be back. They appear to have recently obtained a liquor license, as you can now get beer and some cocktails with your breakfast lunch or dinner. I was really tempted to have a Bloody Mary with breakfast this morning, but I had stuff to get done and knew that would make me lazy for quite a while. Overall it’s a great improvement over the former location, and they seem to be doing pretty well.

Went on a Sunday morning around 9am. Took a little while longer than expected for the food to arrive, but it might be due to the new menu, which seems to have expanded quite a bit since they moved from the quaint little old location. The food was great, huge portions, especially the kids menu. The pancakes(2) were enormous, but my 4yo put a hurting on them nonetheless. I was tempted by the Marcus Camby but opted for a scramble with chorizo and sweet potato. Wish the chorizo was a little more featured in the dish but it was still good. Besides the longer-than-expected wait, it was great.

I started going to POW when it was at its old location. I’m shocked that I haven’t come around to reviewing it, as the current location is walking distance away from my house! I usually grab food here when I’m in a pinch and can’t cook myself a meal. POW tells it all with the amazing combo of creative AND ridiculously delicious food. I’m always in a dilemma when reading the menu, as I have dishes I love… but whenever I’ve branched out to try new ones those have been delicious… and there are other ones that would be new to me that look amazing… how’s a girl to decide?! The cole slaw and other sides are homemade and along the same story. But wait! It doesn’t stop there! They have an all day breakfast menu that could single-handedly keep them in business. I’ve had the stuffed french toast, regular french toast, pancakes, egg sandwiches… once again, you can’t go wrong here. The one negative I will comment on is when POW transitioned to their new location, it was obvious that the wait staff had too much on their hands. I think they received feedback that they needed more hand on deck, but I haven’t been back with a sizable group in person to test this theory out. It’s been almost a year since the change, so I’m confident that this is likely a non-issue anymore. Overall, I’m beyond grateful that such a top notch local place is quite literally in my backyard. Very lucky to have quick food in a pinch that is delicious and can be health conscious(with careful selection).

This would have gotten 5 stars the service was friendly the food was good but when we showed our Groupons they said it was for. dinnerr only. The Groupon says«for dine-in and dinner only» but nowhere does it say only for dinner. Very disappointed as we bought 3 groupons. When the manager came over she was kind of rude about it too. So I guess I will be giving the groupons away

This was my first time here and I really wanted to like Pastrami on Wry after hearing great things. Our group of 5 went on a Saturday morning around 10am. We waited about 15 minutes but expected this because of the time of day. Once we sat, our order was placed quickly but food took about 25 minutes to arrive. When it did, one person got the entirely wrong order(wrong style eggs, wrong toast, and very undercooked bacon). He had to send it back. Another person’s breakfast sandwich had undercooked bacon as well that wasn’t edible. A third person’s pancakes(which came out about 4 minutes after the rest of the food) were barely browned and looked undercooked. Lastly, I ordered stuffed french toast and it came out as french toast with just a slab of plain cream cheese with strawberries inside the sandwich. It looked fresh out of the box, cut into a slab. We were very disappointed and understood that the restaurant was busy and perhaps the kitchen was understaffed. We asked to speak to a manager and spoke to Corey’s father. I’ve never seen a manager look so uninterested in our concerns. We even finished our sentences while he was physically walking away. No apology or explanation or proposed solution. He simply said«I’ll tell the waitress». When the waitress came back, our bill had $ 7.59 taken off as a gift certificate. Nothing we ate specifically was $ 7.59 so I have no idea what this number meant. The child in the group also got a Sprite with her kids meal and got a 50cent up charge(as listed on the menu) but was also charged for a separate full sized soda. All in all we are very disappointed and will not be returning.

My first two attempts to come here I was turned away at the door because the kitchen was closing one hour earlier than their door signs or web site state. No notice no apologies. Third time I finally get here 1.45 hours before they’re closed and they’re out of the item I wanted to order. Epic failure in consistency with customers, planning, inefficient kitchen, and being out of items that are basic staples.

I’m glad to see this chain progressing onward and upward. I was introduced to Pastrami on Wry by a coworker a few years back when looking for lunch and have never had a bad experience. I always come here for the for the pastrami on rye sandwich because the combination is already a perfect match and how could you not get the food a place is named after?! Well almost… Wry is Corey’s(the owner’s) last name, so there’s some clever word play at work here. Today was my first time visiting their new location(they relocated back in February) and he first time I got something different off the menu. So first off, although the food has always been awesome, their previous location was, shall we say, less than ideal. It was a very small take-out type shop with maybe one or two tables and a super small parking lot. This new location is more inline with what the food commands. They’ve moved into a plaza with plenty of booth seating and floor space, a bar, a very retro-modern design, and… lots of parking. Who says«retro-modern?!» Anyway, it was exactly what they needed. Staff was all smiles when I came in and you just feel welcome there. The new home also apparently had an expanded menu. So that expanded menu led to me discovering that they have a huge breakfast selection and it’s available everyday from open to close. Jackpot! Pricing was reasonable and the menu has plenty of choices. I settled on the crispy chicken hash(with bacon cheddar and eggs scrambled in). It was very good. I should’ve added some sauce or ketchup because I feel the hash fries dried it out a bit, but the flavor was 100% there. It came with buttered wheat toast which was great. Great toast is always a pleasant surprise. I’m glad I ventured out and tried something new and it’s good to have options for breakfast. But I still think their pastrami sandwich is the showstopper here. Just as I feel about Catsup and Mustard(his other restaurant), I feel here: good food, customer service is stellar, you can’t go wrong…

Have been here a few times since it moved to the new location. It is a nice large space and has many more tables than before. It is a good place to get a tasty sandwich, but their service can be hit or miss. We have been forgotten about a few times during busy hours. The tables are not always cleared right away and the floors seem to be dirty a lot. Love that they offer Hosmer Mountain Soda. They also have delicious french fries. Their menu has a wide selection of sandwiches, too!

Wow, nice roomy décor, bar, friendly staff, and the food and price are just right. So I’ve been here twol times. I can’t say enough about my breakfast, I had double blueberry pancakes, short stack and the presentation of the food made me dive into it. Hence why there is no picture, Yup that good! This will definitely be my go to spot.

The new location is fantastic, way bigger, brighter and sleek looking. THEYHAVETAYLORHAM as a breakfast sandwich meat(this is a big deal if you like that sort of thing). Everything else I’ve said about this place in my previous review stands. It’s a fantastic breakfast place but it’s been while some time since I’ve had the delight of getting lunch here. I’m going to have to get on that really soon.

Great hidden gem with the best sandwiches in Manchester! It’s basic ingredients that are cooked well and paired perfectly with the right condiments. Sort of a divey place, a 50’s diner covered in vibrant paint colors… hey, it works! The colors and friendly service make it really cheerful. The Texas-Arizona sandwich is delicious. I noticed that the chili lime grilled chicken was really juicy, not dry like with most sandwich delis. It also had bacon, avocado, and chipotle aioli on toasted sourdough bread. The prices are VERY reasonable(between $ 6-$ 8) and there is a small parking lot right in front. The place could get packed around lunch but they also do to-do orders. Oh, and I overheard that they are moving! I was kind of bummed to hear that but supposedly the new location is right up the street. I’m curious to see what they do with the new space. I hope it doesn’t lose its charm!

Pastrami on Wry is like one of those cool diners you see in the movies or a hip sandwich shop in a groovy college town. It’s located in an old house, but resembles a diner. The walls are all painted n vibrant colors and modernart work adorns the walls. There are a few tables in a rectangular U shape and a counter with 50’s style bar stools around it. The cooking is done in back. This was my second time eating here and the first was a few years ago. I ordered a Arizona– lime chicken sandwich with a side of macaroni salad. It took about 7 minutes to get my food and my server was attentive to me. They have lots of items on the menu and I took time reading it all. I’m glad I ordered what I did. My sandwich was delicious. I could really taste the spices, the chicken and the avocado. The meal came with a pickle and coleslaw as well as one side. I chose macaroni salad. The mac salad was a little bland however. The pickle and the coleslaw were both good but nothing to rave about. I finished up my meal and I felt full. That’s what a good lunch is supposed to do. Would I come back or recommend this place to a friend? Absolutely :)
