An experience we had today showed us very clearly why places like Manchester Hardware are so important.
The valve on our single-​handled shower system gave out today and wouldn’t turn off.
My husband turned off the water and brought the mixing valve with him to MH. They did not have what he needed for the repair, but knew what he needed to buy and knew right where to send him for parts — in town — that cost less than 5 dollars!
Their expertise and knowledge of where to get parts saved the day!

With the closing of Hardy’s, this is the only remaining hardware store in town. The old-​fashioned ambience adds charm to a well-​stocked store. Service is always helpful and prompt. A refreshing change from the big box stores.

I highly recommend this store. They offer personal service and remember their customers. I walk in, tell the clerk what I want, and he takes me right to it, doesn’t say Aisle 4, no, he takes me right to the item. Wood floors, beautiful store, not too big but not too little. They sell quality items not like Home Depot or Lowe’s. You get what you pay for. Try it, you’ll like it.

The lifetime of Manchester Hardware is long… way back to the time when Blish’s was only a few blocks up and there was plenty of business for both.
MH is a bright clean place with the simple need to have items that make going to the big box stores a challenge.
I like the fact the floors creak when you go in. and the fact t hat the owner is there… alot and knows his business…
The service is always friendly and it makes me feel a little like going back in time.
Keep up the good work… and we should all make a string effort to support small local businesses… without them our towns would be a vacumn.
