Wow– I used to like this place. It is by far the cheapest prices Chinese food for the biggest portions. However, one time when I went in here, a woman was cutting chicken on a cutting board while sitting ONTHEFLOOR! WTF! I was immediately turned off and confused and walked out. A few months later, their health inspection came out and it is scary stuff people.(You might want to read that)

This used to be the best Chinese food in Manchester. It was a family favorite, even though they don’t offer delivery it used to be worth the drive. Cheap, huge portions of really good hot, fresh food. A pupu platter for two fed the whole family with leftovers. But I’ve noticed in the last few years the food went way down hill. At times the meat had a rotten, left out too long, taste. Rice is dry. Way too many dried out chicken fingers. The only thing decent is the crab Rangoon. Not included in the pupu platter. You’re better off spending your money at yee dynasty or Aloha.

It’s sad what has happened to the once great Heng Won. The quality is not there anymore and I’ve been disappointed with my last few meals there. The portions are still huge, but it doesn’t do you any good if you have stale rice, inedible pork strips, and chicken tenders that are horrible. The meats used in main dishes tend to have more fat on them too. The interior is slightly cleaner than it used to be, not that it is saying much since it always has been a dive. I won’t be back unless they can improve the quality.

The inconsistency in quality has driven me away and I won’t go back. Be sure not to pay with cash; if you do watch them not ring in the sale, very shady.

Heng Won; Death of a superstar. Heng Won was my favorite Chinese food place in Manchester for many years. Unfortunately the decline in cleanliness and the increase in apathy have wreaked havoc on the quality of food prepared there. Heng Won was a superstar in the fast food world. They have never really been friendly and getting TWO napkins was like an act of Congress but the food made it worth the hassle and typically it was done in «TENMINUTE».
It would seem that last night will be my last time being a patron. The food didn’t taste right, the beef teriyaki was burnt badly. The eggroll was incredibly salty and the rice was bland. These are some of my favorite foods. Even after reading the NH Health Inspectors report, I decided to give them another chance.(You might want to read that report) So be it. A sad day in Manchvegas.

Absolutely the BEST Chinese take out in Manchester! Have been going here for over 10 years and hopefully will be able to go for another 10 +. It is take out only but who cares, it is the best!

Food? Good for this type of American-Chinese food. Value? Hard to beat in the area? Service, or more specifically, politeness? 0 stars. They do a knock out business here so there is no incentive to be polite to their customers. You are more likely to find a republican endorsing Obama than you are to receive a thank you in this establishment. Today, I witnessed a customer profusely apologize for forgetting to order her side of chicken fingers with her original order. The cashier never once ack her politeness. While it’s difficult to beat the value of their food, the service leaves sand in my mouth.

Would probably give three-and-a-half if I could. My wife and I were visiting her sister and nieces in Manchester and this is their go-to Chinese takeout. The SIL/nieces ordered PuPu platter for two and Rangoons. More than enough for the three of them, so I wound up getting some to take home. I thought it was OK… a bit too greasy for me but flavorful. My wife ordered shrimp egg foo yong which she didn’t particularly care for, but I thought it was pretty good(and, like some other posters, I AM a foo yong aficionado). I ordered hot & sour soup… one serving turned out to be a quart! I must say, the flavor was a bit on the odd side but not unpleasant at all, and it had some hidden heat that was surprising. I added some soy sauce and that balanced the flavors out some. The most interesting component of the meal was my Bean Curd Family Style, a dish I have eaten at Mandarin/Szechuan restaurants many, many times. As usual, I ordered mine«super hot,» as their menu calls it. Imagine my surprise when I looked at it and saw no evidence of spices or chili oil ATALL. After the initial disappointment I took a bite and was very pleasantly surprised by the fresh vegetables, nicely-cooked tofu, and a very tasty(albeit spiceless) sauce. Today I reheated the leftover with some white rice and it was even better than Saturday night(no surprise there, it often is better a couple of days later). So despite them getting my order screwed up and having what I think qualifies as «Strange Flavored Hot & Sour Soup,» I’m pretty sure I’d order from them again.

We order at least every two weeks. Pu pu for 2 plus a large crab rangoon. This feeds two adults and four kids! Other items on the menu not so much but we have tried a few.

I went here yesterday because of the reviews and I consider myself to be a Chinese Aficionado. I ordered the L2 for lunch… egg foo yung, pork fried rice and boneless ribs. The rice and ribs were so so… but the egg foo yung was I am sorry to say the worse I have ever had in my life and I have eaten quite a few. The oil was definitely old… it was caked in grease and that was the only thing you could taste. Just globs of grease. It seems as if it was sitting in a pot for over a day… very disappointing… also it made me sick. I was very surprised considering the reviews but I am realizing with Asian restaurants in NH more and more you just don’t know on any given day what to expect. Its the nature of it. I could go back in a week and it could be outstanding… but this time it was just horrible. NH Chinese food wise is very disappointing. Concord and Nashua have a couple of decent places but Manchester is rough. Derry Express in Derry, NH is very good.

Just love this place. In a review I wrote a while back I talked highly of a place because they deliver and said they could become my go to. I lied I just always go back to heng won. The food, the amount they give. Its the best around! Very dirty inside. No seating or delivery. Doesn’t matter call it in pick it up. Have to get the sweet and sour chicken. Pu pu platter comes with a fried rice. Oh ya combo plates will feed two or give you two meals. Great! Look past cleanliness.

Great value for the price. There are not many vegetarian options; even the bean curd dishes come with meat. There are veggie lo mein, chop suey, etc. I ordered the Singapore style rice noodles minus meat, and they were DELICIOUS. Yellow curry with fresh snap peas, shredded carrot, bean sprouts, and onions. They did not list all the ingredients when I asked, just said«curry, noodles, and meat,» so if you have a food allergy, ask about that item specifically instead of a general ingredients list. My friend ordered the house fried rice and said it was good.

Food was crap. The eggroll was super dry. The sweet & sour sauce was just honey with a piece of pineapple and a cherry. The chicken was very dry and overcooked. The rice was more like pork burnt rice. If this is the best NH has to offer, I feel for ya. Food wasn’t worth the price.

Awesome fresh Chinese food and huge portions! Thanks fellow Unilocalers for your review. Again another great local restaurant giving great food and service. It is a take out only even though there is 1 table. I was told they do not have eat in license. Understood. You will not be disappointed.

Food tastes good, but they get consistently poor scores by the health inspector. Feeding a family I skip this place because of the poor marks. Not worth risking health when there are comparable restaurants available without the risk. Try Hong Kong City only a few blocks away!

I have been going to this place since I was in high school. Seeing that I’m now 36 yrs old, that says something about the business. It’s not the type of a place to take your new lady on a first date(they haven’t done any renovations since I was in high school either), but it is great for takeout. The huge portions and great prices make this restaurant stand out. The food is your typical take out; terryaki, chicken fingers, crab rangoon, etc. The quality is average to above average. Combo plates being the best bargain. Portions are insane. A small at this place easily rivals a large any other place. You can spend $ 25 and eat for two weeks off of the leftovers. BREAKDOWN: Food — 4 Portions — 5 Staff — n/a Venue — 2 Compares to — Aloha

After trying several chinese places here I think I finally found the one, She ain’t much to look at, and no delivery but the food speaks for itself! I am in love with the Kung Pao Chicken and the vast amount of food you receive. It’s like christmas when we get home and tear open that paper bag to find steaming, piping hot chinese filled to the brim in the styrofoam container! they are fast! your order will be ready in no time at all

Great food, large selection, the portions are huge. I would have given it 5 stars but they gave me bread instead of rice with my entrée… Who gets bread at a Chinese restaurant? Kinda of hard to find, but it is worth it.

Great Chinese takeout! This place offers takeout only with seats for waiting in front of the counter along with some games(Cruisin’ World and Skill Crane) to play. The hot and tasty portions are very generous and the prices are reasonable. Some of the best tasting Chinese food I’ve had outside Chinatown. 10 Chef’s Combination Dinners For One($ 8.00) and 22 Lunch Specials($ 4.35-$ 8.00) are served all day here. The Chinese food here is prepared by older and very experienced Chinese cooks. Spicy hot dishes can be prepared in three distinct categories(1) Mild hot & spicy,(2) Regular hot & spicy, and(3) Very hot spicy. My favorites here are the Peking Spaghetti and Singapore Style Rice Noodles. The service here is quick. LOCATION: Cannot be seen from Mammoth Road. Located behind Aaron’s, enter through the Rite Aid parking lot and look left.
