Took my older car in to have some work done and an inspection. Marc texted me right away with a report of what needed to be done and was happy to go over the details with me when I called. This place took advantage of me because I’m a woman. Found out they were way over charging me. Beware!

I called Bob and Sons for a pre-​purchase vehicle inspection. I bought a 2008 Forester at a local dealer «as is», and I wanted to make sure there were no major issues. I also wanted to verify that the head gaskets had been changed as stated by the seller. Bob and Sons were complete professionals. They fit in the inspection the same day I called despite their busy schedule, and they performed an amazingly thorough examination — checking out the alternator, brake and fuel lines, AC, suspension, frame, engine. everything you could possibly think of. Then they emailed me a complete report with pictures documenting every problem area found (such as leaking front struts.) All in all everything checked out alright for me and Bob et al. verified the head gaskets had indeed been replaced so I bought the car. I love my car and nothing beats the peace of mind of knowing that it’s mechanically sound. I highly recommend Bob for your inspection and repair needs.

I recently moved to the Manchester area and was looking for a reputable shop to fix my 2005 Subaru Forrester. I had been informed by another dealer that the head gasket would need replacing (among other things) and was looking at over $ 2,500 to fix. Having a college budget and already wary about getting potentially taken advantage of because I’m a girl, I decided to look on Unilocal with my dad.
Bob and Sons Automotive was professional with me from Day 1. Not only did they make sure that my car passed inspection, but they gave me a daily update on my service (complete with pictures). They also kept my dad (who is more of the car expert) in the loop as well. All in all, the service I got cost about half of what the local dealer was going to charge me. The best part was they let me use a free loaner vehicle while my car was going through 2 days of repairs. I won’t go to any other garage! :)

I have had many cars serviced over the years in several different states and I can honestly say this was by far the best customer service I have ever experienced with any service establishment.
A little back ground… I live in NY, my daughter lives in Manchester. After registering her car in NH, her 2005 Subaru Forrester failed inspection at the local dealer. Another service station told me the car needed a new head gasket (expensive) and fix the anti lock brakes which were both needed to pass at a cost of over $ 2,500! I found Bob and Sons on Unilocal based on the excellent reviews. My daughter took the car in and they were very nice to her. They even gave her a free loaner vehicle!
Before doing the work, they called me and said they would go through the car to determine what was truly needed and see if it was worth it. They emailed me comprehensive analysis on the car and included pictures of the broken wiring harness that caused the ABS to malfunction. They also said the head gasket was not leaking that much oil and that a stop leak additive within the oil change should help it to pass inspection. They called me a few times over the 2 days it was there giving me detailed progress (the ABS wiring issue was tough to find tracing it under the hood to the back of the vehicle and a few hours of labor). They also did some other maintenance work on the car I had asked for so in total they saved me a lot of money vs a head gasket job.
It’s nice I can send my daughter to a service station without the feeling she will be taken advantage of. Thank you Marc and Dennis for your outstanding service! You have a customer for life!

This place is great, no wonder they’ve been in business forever. I took my car here for a post purchase inspection and they did an extremely thorough job and were honest with recommending what needed to be done now, and what could wait. That is not the kind of stuff you generally get as a first time customer at any auto body shop, especially a younger guy like myself who has a respectable but limited knowledge of cars. As long as I work where I do currently, I’ll be back here for everything.

I drive old junkers into the ground. With that transportation choice I need a shop that can do good work that I trust. This is the spot in Manchester to keep your car alive and kicking. Ron is also very clear with what a car needs now, and what can be done later.

These guys are the only mechanics I’d let touch my cars again. They know what they’re doing, and they make sure you understand it too. They also won’t do any half ass job for less, they’ll tell you it’ll cost more or they won’t do it — because they won’t let it break again.
They have great rewards programs, and send nice reminders and gift certificates for the Holiday season.
Always willing to get their hands dirty, and clean up afterwards :)

Also, I am a guy who can «talk the talk» carwise. While there I did see a young lady with her car getting serviced, and they were equally respectful, helpful and friendly with her.
