This is about the third time I came here and I absolutely love it! The service was very good, the owners are very personable and of course the quality of the fish was outstanding! I usually don’t get sushi because to get good quality sushi is on the more expensive side but this place offers really good quality sushi at a really good price!

Living in Southern Vermont we never expected to land upon a great sushi place. The first time we went to Sushi Boat we were blown away. There are so many great options to choose from and the atmosphere is fantastic. The owners are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. It’s in a somewhat secluded part of Manchester Center, which is nice since you get away from the hustle and bustle of the main road. My husband and I love that it is BYOB, if you forget to bring your own drinks the RiteAid next door is full of VT beer options. The waitress at Sushi Boat even offers to bring you a chilled mug when she knows that you brought beer! All around this is a great restaurant and we have had nothing but good times here.

This little place in Vermont is a must try if you are a sushi fan. The sushi is fresh and well worth it. We are from Boston we usually get great sushi in the city but this place is more authentic and fresh! I would definitely come back here again.

Gem? Not for me. I love sushi, I love it enough to fly to Tokyo to the Tsukiji Market just to have Sushi breakfast [and lunch and dinner…] But the Sushi boat — wasn’t my boat Went there with my family for a little Sushi treat when we moved here. The food was mediocre, the price wasn’t. Worse yet, when I asked for a Yellow Tail [Hamachi] I got a non fresh nondescript fish. Realizing that I got the wrong tail I asked the owner. The pretty rude owner insisted that the nondescript was indeed Hamachi. Sorry — I really know that fish, it is my favorite fish and I know the difference between Hamachi and a fish story. Wouldn’t go there again.

Wow food is usually very good, but you have to be NUTS to wait an hour wait for a single tuna roll for take out?

By far, the best part of the experience was how delightful and kind all the staff were! I was there last night with three of the kids– and after driving through traffic and snow for far too long, arriving at Sushi Boat was like finding an oasis! The BYOB meant I could pop a bottle of champagne, and then we ordered and ordered and ordered. Everything was delicious, and the edamame were perfect: hot and salty and crisp. The special rolls all sounded fantastic, but we were trying to be budget-conscious so stuck with the more modest items. The whole family is returning on Friday for a big celebration, and we’ll be going to town with the ordering then. I’ll let you know how we fare– but we’re already looking forward to it!

Love this place. Ralph the owner/chef goes above and beyond to be personable and to please his customers. The sushi is always fresh, the sashimi thick and delicious. My son in law who is Japanese and worked in a sushi restaurant loves this place too. Byob, you can’t miss.

Perhaps I was expecting too much after reading so many very positive reviews of this place, but frankly I was a bit disappointed. It’s clear the owner and his wife and some helpers are working their butts off trying to please all their customers and their sushi is good and tasty. However, when I asked for hot tea for a beverage, a lukewarm pot of very weak tea appeared. When I was able to get a server’s attention, they made good with a hot pot and fresh tea leaves. After we placed our order, it felt like we waited for a good 20 – 25 minutes for the food to arrive, and when it did, it was incomplete. Again, minutes passed as we tried to get the attention of a server to tell her about the missing sushi. No two ways about it, these are very hard working people, I just wished they were more on top of their game.

Having been to every major city in Japan. Having had sushi in many of the places in the Ginza and in the small towns throughout the Japanese islands, I have to say that Sushi Boat has some of the best freshest most innovative ideas for sushi Starting with a wonderful miso soup, «Tako» salad and then Sashimi. Which most restaurants would make 3 pieces of the chunks of sweet tuna, octopus and eel. Sushi n rolls like spicy scallop with a hint of siracha suace. Small family owned get here early band ce often

Very good sushi. Things you should know — it is not sushi boat where the sushi floats by; it is BYO, it is mom and pop, and it is tucked to the left of rite aid. Beyond those small caveats — it is excellent quality sushi for an outlet mall in Vt. Highly recommend.

What can I say … their sushi is colorful, delicious, international and spectacular(and I’m from Japan), and you can read all about it in other people’s reviews … but it’s not only that … the restaurant owners, husband and wife, and their team, just have got SOMUCHHEART … … I’m not going to get too personal but they touched my heart, and I so totally swear by this beautiful crown jewel of sushi in Vermont!!! Love them!!!

This place is delicious. It was a bit difficult to find as it is located at the far end of a plaza off the main road. It is a small restaurant and perfect for lunch for two on a shopping day with a bottle of wine as it is also byob. The sushi is delicious and the service is great. Reasonably priced as far as sushi goes.

Sushi Boat is consistently good. The proprietors are always kind and welcoming, and the food is always good. Admittedly I have had better sushi in bigger cities, but for southern Vermont, this is the go to place for some tasty rolls.

Hidden gem in Manchester. BYOB. Amazing sushi rolls that are reasonably prices. The veggie special roll was tasty as was the crab Rangoon roll. The fish was fresh and service was pleasant. The atmosphere is not very appealing but easily overlooked for the delicious food.

We love Sushi Boat! Small place run by a very nice couple. The rolls are pretty typical of American type sushi places but the fish is always fresh and the people are always kind.

Absolutely delicious! I eat sushi twice per week at my home in NJ. I’m extremely picky about my sushi. This place exceeded my expectations! The fish was very fresh. The presentation was very nice. Everything tasted excellent! Definitely one of the better sushi places I’be been to! If you like sushi this is a place you can’t pass up!

How in the heck could I give this place anything less than five stars?! You want quality sushi in SW Vermont? Well, this is the place that you’ll want to go to then. I’ve pretty much stopped eating sushi in NYC mainly because it’s just too darned expensive and it’s just not really all that good these days compared to this place. Eating sushi at Manchester’s Sushi Boat is a real treat though and I do so every chance I get! It is a very intimate place, tucked away off of the main drag in Manchester and it offers up a lot of charm. Ralph, the chef/owner is a great guy and his wife who fills in as a server could not be nicer. As for the food, you would not believe you’re in landlocked VT. Everything Ralph serves is incredibly fresh and tasty, from the lemony mackerel to the buttery yellow tail to the ocean fresh tasting tuna and salmon. Ralph used to run Mika’s, up the hill to Bromley and that was a great sushi restaurant. Now that he’s running his own place though, you can rest assured that everything here’s being done right and the sushi’s even better than Mika’s could have ever dreampt of being. Just look at the pix I’ve posted! Also, Sushi Boat’s BYOB so that’s great in keeping your prices down. Bring your own beer, wine or sake and order an extra roll with the money you’ll be saving! Speaking of rolls, I had the special Spicy Shrimp Dragon Roll last time I was here and it just about blew my mind! The taste of that thing lingered in my mind for the next few days, at least! Take THAT, NYC sushi joints! Seriously, if you don’t eat here while in Manchester, you’ll be truly cheating yourself.
