Came here to let my girlfriend experience Indian food for the first time and probably will not come again. While we were seated we noticed the placemats dirty on both sides, i ordered the chicken curry with buttery naan bread while my girlfriend ordered the a chicken masala with garlic naan bread. The other drink i ordered was a mango lassi which was delicious. The food was good but the fact is that we ordered mild and got very spicy, we drank two cups of water just to keep up. The biggest let down was the service which i went to the waiter personally to bring the check and took 10 minutes until i finally went to the front to pay and leave, he never even asked if we liked the food or not. Anyway i love you my beautiful Denisse

Probably one of the worst restaurants I’ve been too. It is just one open room. They didn’t have ice for the glasses. They were not very busy which for a Friday night is a bad sign. Waiters and waitress were polite and friendly couldn’t really understand half of what they said though. The servings are tiny for the price. And there was a lot of oil in the bottom of the dish. Kinda gross. I went to the bathroom and it wasn’t very clean there was urine on the toilet and the water wouldn’t get even slightly warm. There wasn’t very much energy in the building at all a disappointment will not be returning.

Very good at 2PM on Sunday. My girlfriend loves the butter chicken although she was worried there would not be anything suitable for her tastes as she doesn’t like spicy food. Great selection.

I was really craving some Indian food while my friend and I were out test driving cars in Manassas. After a quick search, our GPS brought us to Tandoori Village. As we pulled up we were a little hesitant because it looked like a run-down place off the side of the road with a small parking lot. When we went in it was obvious that we were the only ones there which is usually not a good sign. We took a moment to look at their lunch buffet options and decided to give it a go — and I’m glad we did. Everything I had was delicious, their butter chicken, naan, and potatos. I’m not a fan of spicy food, but this had just the right amount of spice so that it was enjoyable but not unpleasant. We also ended up ordering some vegetable samosas. While they we good, they were awfully small and only two come with the $ 4 order. Overall, this was a good $ 10ish lunch buffet.

I’ve been to this restaurant many times but my most recent visit was not as pleasant as usual. To begin with we were continuously pressured to have the buffet after we made it clear we wanted to order from the menu. Our servers were very rude and one in particular practically stared at us while we ate. The food was also not as good as it typically is. The chicken tasted uncooked and after the meal I felt slightly ill. I’m not sure if it’s under new management but it was a different experience than my prior visits. I was very disappointed.

First off, Indian is my favorite food. I’ve had it plenty of times at many places. I’ve learned to appreciate authentic Indian through my coworkers. Now with that said… When it comes to flavor this place knows how to deliver! That’s what Indian food is about. Spices(not spicy) and flavor. Go watch«100 Foot Journey». The lunch buffet for $ 10 is a steal. Y put out some really high quality stuff. The Hareem was killer. Their naan is also super fresh and delicious. Service is always attentive and the décor is beautiful. They also have a nice outdoor seating area and sun room. They recognize regulars which is always nice! Looking for good Indian in the Manassas and Centervile area? You’ve found it!

Beautifully decorated restaurant serving traditional Punjabi food. It was raining and nearing 9:30PM, but there was a bustle of activity outside Tandoori Village. Curious and hungry, we decided to check this place out. We could barely step inside as the restaurant was PACKED! We quickly learned the reason was because most of the(Muslim) patrons were there for their evening meal to end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset. Thus, the only dining option was the Iftari Buffet($ 14.99 per person + tax). As it was 30 minutes to closing, food availability was a bit sparse since it was not being refilled. There was a pretty wide selection of offerings. For appetizers, there were pakoras, vegetable samosas, and chaat papri. There were ten main course selections, including chicken biryani, chicken karahi, goat korma, chicken tikka, fried fish, and naan. The dessert section featured zarda(rice cooked in saffron sugared syrup with slithers of coconut, almonds, pistachios, and cardamom) and kheer(traditional rice pudding). While there was naan available at the buffet area, they also brought us a plate of naan to our table. My personal favorites were the vegetable samosas, chaat papri, and chicken tikka. It was my first time tasting chaat papri, which is a delightful mixture of chickpeas, potatoes, onions, fresh cilantro, and tomatoes. I found it to be deliciously light and refreshing! It is supposed to be served with mango chutney, yogurt, and topped with flour crisps, but they had already run out of these and did not refill it. Service was mediocre only, as the wait staff rushed us to finish our meal. When I went back to the buffet area for my second plate, they had already started to remove the food! Startled, I asked a man who I assumed was the owner if there was any samosas and chaat papri left, and thankfully he went back to the kitchen and got me a huge plate full. Also, my water glass smelled a bit funky, so I could not take any much needed sips of water to counter the spicy food. Overall, I enjoyed the food, which was very flavorful and tasty. However, service from the wait staff could be improved. I will have to come back to Tandoori Village at a less hectic time after Ramadan to try their a la carte options.

This is by far my favorite place to get authentic Indian food! Manassas is my home town but I go to college in Texas, and I cannot wait to get back into town on my breaks so I can go to Tandoori Village and get their Chicken Masala and fresh naan. On there lunch buffet, everything is amazing! You really can’t go wrong here. The servicescape gives off an authentic cultural look, and the tables are all unique and I’ve always thought that was a nice touch! The prices are great, you get a lot of bang for your buck at the lunch buffet! I love Indian cuisine and have been to a lot of restaurants, but Tandoori Village is by far my favorite!

MOSTIMPORANT: This place has legit Indian food. Moving on. Let me just say the service is a huge mess. Every time I encountered my server or some other random person posing as my server, I had an induced headache because: 1. There was difficulty communicating in English 2. There were 3 different guys servicing ALL the tables randomly. There was no order or assignments Seriously, in the middle of taking my order, the host guy come over snatched the pad from our server, order him to do something else and started taking the order. O. o Anywhoo, I ordered vegetarian and my friend ordered meat. We ordered Vegetarian: Palak Paneer Samosa– Flavorful, not oily, thin and crispy on the outside and warm and creamy inside. It came with a side of 2 different and delicious dipping sauce The chickpea veggie dish– the best chick peas I have ever had, very flavorful, thick and saucy The spinach and kale mash– Tastes much better than it looks, its a thick green paste, while delicious flavors, very good! Green chile and cilantro naan– hot and yum! Note: the veggie dishes do NOT come with rice or naan on the side. Order some naan to eat it with. Meat: Half Tandoori Chicken Please note this was half of a whole chicken, SURPRISE to us. OVERALL: VERY good food, BAD service

This is the real deal. Legit Punjabi deliciousness, home made and taken seriously. The ambiance is that magical find of «fun for groups» and«could make a romantic date.» And it smells richly of the tandoor in the back. Speaking of which, no matter what else you order, get something from the tandoor. We got the sampler and every bite was different and incredible. Also, the samosas are out of this world, soft and flaky and smooth inside and perfect. We wrapped up our dinner with sweet spiced zarda(creamy sticky rice with cinnamon, cardamom, saffron, pistachios, omg) and both kinds of chai. Save room, it’s worth it. Service was super attentive. Food came out with great timing. The whole thing was flawless. We will be back!

Let me start off saying that as an Indian who eats the best home cooking in the world I’m extremely critical of any and all Indian restaurants, especially their buffets. Thus when we decided to stop at this quaint out of the way place on the border of Centreville and Manassas Park, I was SO skeptical. But man oh MAN is the food here good!!! Lunch buffets tend to suck at most Indian places in this area(few are up to par with Diya in Tysons or Jaipur in Fairfax) but this place is easily as good if not better. The variety wasn’t huge but what they had was FANTASTIC! And that too for $ 11/person on a Saturday? You’ve got to be kidding me not even the worst Indian buffets are that cheap on weekends. Price is unbeatable for food quality. The only reason I’m not giving this a 5star review is because the appetizer variety could’ve been slightly better and the desserts could’ve been a little more flavorful. But service was great, décor is beautiful and folk, and the entrees were SOGOOD. Definitely check this place out, well worth the trip and even more worth the money! Possibly best Indian restaurant in NoVA!!!

The food is just wonderful. They have diner buffet for $ 12.99 and it was worth it. They had lot of items in the buffet. My favorite was the lamb curry and it tasted awesome with the Nan. The Nan was once of the best that I had in a while. The ambiance is also nice. The service is also very good. I will certainly recommend this place.

How I heard of this place: Our friends Jack & Lenore suggested dining out at Tandoori Village for our catch-up dinner double date. Type of cuisine: «The home of true pujabi cooking. We welcome you on our journey to a true Punjabi village.» Ambiance: «We hope we have been successful in creating a small glimpse of a true Punjabi village. Our aim was to walk on through this experience to a place for to reach but very close to our hearts… to a culture very rich in both traditions and its cuisine. From the moment you step through our door we will deliver you with an experience out of this world. Be prepared to be pampered in the only Punjabi way with hospitality and but an ambiance to enjoy the best food. This however is not the end the taste of a much bigger picture… we hope to continue and expand in the near future to give you a complete Punjabi village.» The outside of the restaurant defintiely captures the idea of a small Punjabi village, with a make-shift well and vases outside. Next door to a stone house, one certainly feels like they have entered a small village establishment. Lanterns hang from the wooden planks overhead as you make your way to the large, wooden door, complete with Medieval studs and intricate woodwork. Inside, a small foyer welcomes you with brightly colored tapestries(resembling carpets), hung on the wall ahead, an intricate wood-framed mirror and detailed, mosaic vases and traditional artwork at your foot. The beautifully detailed, wood carvings in the space seperator and matching wooden pillars offered a cozy sense of home and the warm comfort of the large, orange-hued tiles created a welcoming space. The most surprising piece of artwork came in the way of a intricately carved wooden swinging chair, complete with orange cushions and armrests, hung with silver chains to the bamboo-mat covered ceiling above. We were guided through the rounded walkway, away from the buffet service, towards the brightly colored yellow and orange walls of the dining area. Chiffon-fabric with beadwork tassels draped softly over the lights to create a warmer, dim-lit space; while matching fabric hung from the windows. Everywhere could be seen the metal work of lights and lamps, vases and dishes, from the portico-style windows and throughout the establishment. Tables of thick wood, detailed with glass tops provided space for our menus and placemats, prior to having received our food. The gentle sounds of ancient Punjab music simmered in the background, as the chef prepared our meals. What I ordered: To start, the ladies each ordered a sweet lassi($ 2.50 each) and the men selected a mango lassi($ 2.50 each). We began our evening’s culinary tour with one order of the Milijuli Sabzi Samosa($ 4), including two samosas with a seasonal mix of vegatables and spiced potatoes wrapped in a light pastry and deep fried, as well as the Murgh Pakora($ 5), six tender pieces of delicately spiced chicken, dipped in a batter of gram flour and deep fried. Our main entrees included: my choice of the Tandoori Bahaar($ 19), a chef’s special mix of Tandoori Chicken, Reshmi Kebab, Murgh Tikka, Lamb Seekh Kebab, Gosht Tikka and one Tandoori Shrimp, my husband’s Murgh Makhan Masala($ 12), a stew of boneless chunks of chicken cooked on a slow heat in a mouth-watering butter– and cream-based tomato sauce, Jack’s favorite: Tandoori Chops($ 19), lamb chops marinated in Village Special house-blend spices and tangy yogurt, and Lenore’s ultray-mild(no spice) Tawa Murgh Masala($ 13), succulent boneless chicken marinated in yogurt and spices, cooked in an onion and tomato-based sauce, flavored with garlic and cumin. To round out the evening, we also selected the Sarson Ka Saag($ 8), a mix of fresh mustard, kale, spinach and fenugreek leaves cooked in light spices, blended to a thick paste and topped with a tarka of garlic, onion and whole red chillies, served piping hot with butter on top! For cleaning off our plates and bowls of deliciousness, we also placed two naan orders: Garlic Naan($ 3), white bread freshly baked in a clay oven, topped with chopped garlic and butter, and our waitress-recommended Green Shilli Coriander Naan($ 3), the same white bread freshly baked in a clay oven, flavored with chopped green chillies and fresh cilantro, served with melted butter on top! When our plates of rice and salad made their way out, our two Tandoor dishes were served with a small bowl of beautiful, yellow daal. What I loved: My favorite dish on the table was the Murgh Makhan Masala and the Green Shilli Coriander Naan. Unanimous agreement shared that the Chops won the evening! Why I loved it: The decorations, the feel of the space and the delicious, generous portions of food. Yum! Cost: Low to average($ 6 — $ 19 per entrée)

I have been coming to Tandoori village intermittently over the last decade(ok i kid, but yeah been a good 8 years or so). The restaurant was very easy to miss in the beginning because its rather small and the sign on the top is easily overlooked. They recently added an additional sign close to the road so that helps. The first thing that caught my eye when I parked was the fake ‘koo-waan’(urdu for water well) and the ‘chaarpayee’(urdu for a bed handmade from woven string) resting against the wall. I was instantly taken by the charming reminders from the good ol’ village life in Pakistan. The entrance door is heavy-set and rustic gold with the same Pakistani manor-like feel. You walk into a small restaurant and the first thing that catches your eye is the buffet laid out with a dozen Pakistani/indian dishes *tummy does a drum-roll*. All that looks great but we always order from the menu since i am not a big fan of buffets. We stick to the favorites i.e. tandoori chicken(barbequed chicken cooked in spices), daal makahani(yellow lentils cooked in a mother-load of butter), naan(bread hot from a clay-oven) and butter-chicken(as the name implies the chicken is cooked in alot heavy cream). For dessert, we always get the gajjar halva(gajjar being carrot) and chai. It is not the BEST pakistani food you will have [There is no BEST pakistani food out of pakistan, take my word for it] but its still pretty good! All this reminds me that I’m due for a visit at Tandoori, been a while!

Recommend by one of Pakistani friend, three of us came here last night, including this friend. We ordered vegetable samosa, two onion nan, butter chicken, mixed tandoor kabob and one type of vegetarian dish. Everything tasted good, eps the butter chicken. Kabob were juicy and tender. However, I expect bigger portion. Service was pretty bad, the older gentlement(probably is the owner) was really weird and kind of rude. He did refilled the water or took the plates, but he never asked how’s everything. There’s some lettuce on the side of samosa, he took the plate without saying excuse me or asked if we were done eating it. After he brought me the check, I was checking the details that what he charged for me, he just standing there and watching me and waiting for me to put my credit card on it, which I had never seen at any other restaurants. After five mins, we were still talking, he just came to the table again, grab the check in front of me, again, without saying anything. I just shocked there while I was in the middle of talking to my friends. One of friends asked me what’s wrong, I expressed my uncomfortable feeling. She said she didn’t even noticed he came and grabbed the check. How fast was that. I might still return to try there lunch buffet since the food was good, but would never dine in any more.

Just came back here after not coming for about a year. His used to be one of my top there favorite restaurants. Not sure if they changed ownership or what but was disappointed tonight for many reasons. 1. It was so hot. I noticed the thermostat while waiting for the restroom the thermostat was set at 86!!! They also had a window AC unit(don’t remember from before) wasn’t running either. 2. Service was miserable. We ordered drinks and as we were finishing our meal he asked if we still wanted our sodas. There were no napkins nor did he check on us. It took a miserably long time to even get a box. 3. The restroom floor was disgusting and covered in water to the point it wasn’t safe I walk on. 4. Décor was really run down– walls needed repair, Electrical circuits coming out of the wall. 5. There were a couple of ants on my phone when I left. I left feeling gross and wanting a shower. The only good thing was the food was still pretty decent which is why will leave it at 2 stars. Not sure we will return a. We live father away to this restaurant and we tend to only go on special occasions… this time my birthday dinner… Yay… happy birthday to me. NOT. Here is you birkham dinner. B. it just disappointed for all the reasons above.

Tandoori Village is owned by the Wahla family, who is known to have about 25 years of experience in the restaurant business in Scotland/U.S(Planet India, Minhaj, and Sanam). They pride in themselves in offering a genuine experience of a ‘Punjabi Village’ — the décor of the restaurant is quite beautiful, with the wood and the brass décor of the doors, the tables, and the chairs. Their menu offers items such as starters(garlic shrimps, pakora, alloo, etc.), sides & salads, tandoor entrees, chicken/lamb/seafood/vegetarian options, breads, and desserts. My husband found out about this place from one of his co-workers whose husband highly recommends. We came here to check out their lunch buffet, and we were both pleasantly surprised that it runs until 3PM on weekdays, only costing $ 7.95!!! Wowzers! The lunch buffet had the following: pakora, curry pakora, green squash, butter chicken, chicken karahi(!), goat korma, and chicken tikka. I was a fan of their chickpeas(had a little kick, but it was thick and stew-y, just the way I liked it), the butter chicken(the sauce was tomato-y and thick, great to dip the naan bread in), the chicken tikka(bone-in, delicious, and flavorful), and the chicken karahi(not too saucy, but great flavors with all white-meat chicken!). The pakora was a little stale, but I appreciated that they were small in size, which means that if they were fresh, it would be nice and crispy; the goat korma was a little too game-y for me. They use halal meat, which is nice; also, you get a basket of hot fresh buttered naan, that was triangular in shape, and more than enough for 2 people. I had the rice pudding for dessert, which was also pretty good — it wasn’t watered down, but it was nice and thick with great flavors. Service was pleasant and sweet. They also have a little patio in the back for events or for those who like eating al fresco. I would love to continue coming back for their buffet as I think it’s a spectacular deal and because it offers great-tasting, solid food! :D +ask for Mr. Afzal(the owner) and Nishant!!! +spicy chickpeas +delicious tender chicken karahi +chicken tikka +butter chicken(thick creamy sauce for the naan) +soft and addicting naan bread +rice pudding

My friend and I ordered: — 1 order of butter chicken — 1 order of Tawa Murgh Masala — 2 orders of garlic naan What we received; — TWO orders of butter chicken — 1 order of Tawa Murgh Masala — 2 orders of garlic naan What is funny is that when the waiter brings the food out, he says he brought us 2 orders of butter chicken b/c one is spicier than the other. My friend had ordered mild. We ask for the check. Waiter brings us a check for: — TWO orders of butter chicken — 1 order of Tawa Murgh Masala — 2 orders of garlic naan I flag the waiter down and I tell him that we only ordered one butter chicken and not two. He says«yes, but there are TWO butter chickens». I tell him that I understand that but we only ordered one but received two so we should not be charged for two. He just continues to argue that it doesn’t matter that we ordered one, we received two so we are being charged for two! We continue to argue for another 5 minutes when my friend and I just gave up and gave him our credit cards. The waiter goes away to charge our cards but comes back with the owner and the owner comps our entire meal, which was completely not necessary but very generous of him. We just wanted that one order of butter chicken taken out and would have gladly paid for the rest of our meal! I have noticed the customer service here has been consistently deteriorating by the waiters. When the owner is in, the service is great! I feel like the waiters need more training so that service is much more consistent even when the owner is not working. However, the food is delicious and is why this restaurant still gets 3 stars.
