Sharp Painter

(3−½ stars.) Sharp Painter repainted my condo prior to my moving in, and did some handyman work (electrical, installation of shower doors, replace cabinet hardware, etc.). The best thing that I can say is that, overall, the paint job looks good, they did a nice job with some electrical work as well as a backsplash. In addition, they seemed to do their best to accommodate my schedule, especially given that I was out of town more often than I had expected before I needed to move in. **If you considering whether to hire them, the question you should ask yourself is: «Am I satisfied with ‘pretty good?’» Are you someone who is particular about your home and would care about the quality of paint? Are you expecting the contractor to pay close attention to details and perform work to your satisfaction? Do you expect your contractor to be comfortable working with higher end finishes? If you’re not looking for «great» and will be satisfied with «pretty good,» then Sharp Painter will meet your needs. Overall, the pricing was competitive and they did a pretty good job.

Sharp Painter is hands-​down the best contracting company in the DMV area. Their work is flawless, their work ethic is outstanding, their pricing is reasonable, and they are the just nicest guys to boot.
We gutted and redid the kitchen of our 101-​year-​old house. The previous owner cut corners everywhere he could and sure enough, we found some major problems once everything was ripped out. Cristian, Elmer and Edgar were calm, courteous and worked hard to fix everything in a timely and professional manner. They upped the price accordingly but not unfairly-​they understand that emergencies happen!
Our galley kitchen was done in a little over 4 weeks. New floor, made-​to-​order cabinets, painting, new appliances, and all was done wonderfully. Their craftsmanship is evident.
Most importantly, these gentlemen are sweet and hard-​working. I never had to worry that we were getting anything other than top-​quality service.

Elmer from Sharp Painter did cabinetry work in my kitchen today. The work involved redoing cabinetry that had to be refashioned and retrofitted to accommodate a new, taller refrigerator. He also made adjustments to another cabinet to correct doors that were not aligned properly. In all respects, Elmer’s work was first-​rate. He quickly understood what needed to be done and very carefully cut down an existing piece of cabinetry to fit and meticulously retrofitted that piece to the cabinet to which it was attached. Elmer was very careful and thoughtful at each stage of this rather difficult project, and he was very careful not to damage the surrounding custom-​finish, lacquered walls. In addition to his fine technical skills, Elmer was very polite, very personable. I would hire Elmer and Sharp Painter again without reservation and recommend them highly.
