Meh… is the only word I can think of. I’m huge on customer service. And that is what brings this place down to me. I don’t like going in a place feeling like I’m invading your space and that is how I feel walking into pollo campero. I have been there about 3 times and each time the person behind the counter seemed very annoyed to be taking my order. Don’t get me wrong I dislike very friendly service as well. So I wasn’t looking for polio campero staff to say welcome to pollo campero! In unison everytime I walk in. But don’t seem annoyed I walked in your restaurant either. The second thing that annoyed me is they talk to you based on how you look. So a person that looks Hispanic ahead of me they will say hola. Como estas? But a person that does not look stereotypical Hispanic.(Me) they switch right to english. And say can i help you.(In a very annoyed tone to add). How do they know I don’t speak Spanish or vice versa. There are plenty of Filipino people that go to pollo campero. I just think you should have a set language they speak and let that customer dictate which language they prefer to speak with you. I don’t think it’s fair to asume the language you speak based on(whatever criteria they use) how they look. When people of different cultures look so differnt. Anyhoo to end my rant. I started going to guapos where the service is more to my liking. They don’t seem annoyed with you. Talk to you like a customer.(With just a little more respect)

Came in for lunch, we opted to dine in, ordered the 8 piece family meal with two sides for $ 20.99. I also ordered 3 empandas which came with a side and a drink. When you dine in, they serve everything on plates, so the convience of boxing everything up when u are done is not there. You would need to ask for to goto containers. Fried chicken — very salty and crunchy. You would need to eat this with white rice or something to even out the saltiness. Yuca — this is my first time having yuca that is so soft and buttery but it was cold. Beans — I asked for rice but they gave me beans, sigh. Beans tasted decent. Empandas — not bad, I asked for spicy and it was not spicy. Empandas were room temperature, I bet it would have tasted better if it was fresh. Corn salad — omg this is the sadness dish they have. On the menu it looks so good but when they serve it to you, its all nasty looking. Chips — these were pretty damn good but there was no actual salsa for these chips. We also got tortillas instead of dinner rolls. I would stay away from their sides and just stick to the chicken. Overall it’s just OK…

Food and service were terrible! 1 star because the plantains were the only good part of the meal. The cashier was«high as a kite when I ordered my dinner and he screwed that up! I had to order three separate times to get the order right, he charged me for a drink I didn’t order and it took 10 minutes to get my money back and a water cup. 1st& last visit to the chicken camp.

First time here and the chicken was great. The empanadas, beans and rice were also great. Food was served nice and hot. The restaurant was small which is the only con. Other than that I will be a return visitor.

I came here for lunch with a friend. My first visit since the Unilocal party(only because I am not close by). We were both happy with the chicken, which was moist and tasty. For sides we had fried plantains and black beans. I ordered an Horchata and we got free warm tortilla chips for checking in on Unilocal.Service was great. They go above and beyond what you would expect at a fast goo place. The place was very clean.

Been here several times, they are always very busy which is a challenge. The fried chicken is pretty good but the grilled is too lemony. I’ve never seen Spanish place with this type of seasonings. Peruvian seasonings are more of what I was expecting. I think they’d do much better in sales if they changed the grilled chicken recipe. Their fried plantains and yuca are great!

If I’m in the area on Wednesdays I will stop in because they have $ 12pc chicken dark(let n thigh). I snatch two of those and keep it moving. Chicken is pretty good. Definitely worth $ 2

Very disappointed with my visit, first the music was to loud upon entering the location, and when I attempted to place my order the person did not understand me… No I’m not Hispanic or speak the language, so I was asked to wait while they found someone who could talk to me, so they took the order of the person behind me who spoke Spanish before completing mine… lie found that very rude! Second because they didn’t understand me they got my order wrong. The food was good even though it was not what I ordered, but the service is horrible.

I’m going to begin with the solitary«con» because it’s miniscule: the music clashes awfully with the venue. In this moment, I’m listening to some creepy country duet, and the song prior was a traditional Hispanic song. However, the food is wonderful. The seasoning on the chicken is superb. Couple that zesty spice with the smooth crispy skin, and you’ve got what is Pollo Compero: delicious chicken. I ordered the two piece combo with tortillas and campero beans. My girlfriend got the same thing, except she ordered campero rice rather than the beans. The tortillas are corn, and they are served streaming hot. I combined the beans and rice with the green and red salsas – oh my god! So good. Is this place a five star restaurant? No. But, it is the cream is the crop as far as fast food chicken goes. Popeyes and KFC ought to be leery.

I’m so sad and disappointed. To start with I was the second person in line. I got to the cash register and the cashier told me 1 mimute. Then another cash register was opened and rather than taking my order they took the order of the next three people behind me. Eventually someone else came to the cash register who was very nice and after about 5 minutes took my order. My empanada was delicious. My order of yuca left much to be desired. It was not fresh. And it included only 5 pieces. They were so bad I didn’t even eat them. Perhaps I should have gone in and complain but at this point I just wanted to leave with a shred of dignity. It’s highly unlikely that I would return to this location.

To be honest, I had tried Pollo Campero many years ago and was not too thrilled. The second time around, I hit up this location and it was great! I had the empanadas, yuca fries, coleslaw, guava drink, and cuatro leches(it was part of a Unilocal!event so they fed us a ton!). The empanadas were the non-spicy citrus ones. They were perfect – crisp on the outside, soft, seasoned, and cheesy on the inside. The coleslaw was good-had some cilantro in it, which I enjoyed. The yuca fries were tasty and served with a mayo/ketchup sauce(fancy sauce!). The cuatro leches was a bit too rich for me – had about ½ inch of caramel on top. The texture was great, but I did need to scrape some caramel to the side. Overall, this place was very clean, fast, and tasty. Like the Terminator, I’ll be back!

They had me at guava juice. But their food is tasty and their manager is super nice! My favorites are the grilled chicken, empanadas, campero rice, and thick tortilla chips with self-serve salsa bar.

Mehhh. I was kind of confused because I thought Pollo Campero was Peruvian chicken. It’s not bad by any means, but the roasted chicken is not what I am used to at Guapo’s or Pollos Inka, rather It is citrusy and herby. At least the inside is still juicy. The cole slaw was mehh.(Sorry for the repetition of adjectives, but that really is the most appropriate word to capture my apathy toward the food.) I tried the quatros leches for dessert and it was a little too sweet for me. I could only eat about 3 bites. I was mostly disappointed by the guava drink though. Since it was listed separately from fountain drinks I assumed it was something special, but it was more like a guava hi-c fountain drink with extra sugar. Couldn’t drink it. I am however still giving three stars for the yuca fries, the little salsa/hot sauce bar and the customer service. The manager was super kind and gracious.

As far as fast, ethnic, tasty food this is your go-to. If I closed my eyes while drinking my guava drink I would have thought I was in Hawaii, considering how HOT it was in there and all, minus the humidity. The chips were thick like pita chips and the green salsa was my fave. The pico lacked flavor, didn’t have enough cilantro or pepper flakes. The dark red salsa was only heat and no flavor. Everything I tasted was good: grilled Peruvian wings w/lime, plantains, Campero beans, and the empanadas. The beans were my fave. Next time, I’m definitely trying the fried chicken because it looked so crispy and I’m taking my food to go. I don’t have time for children running every-whicha-where when I’m eating.

4th time there and love it. Yucca fries are a nice change from French fries. Chicken is a little salty but is balanced with salsa.

Although I’m not a fan of Pollo Campero, I thought I’d give it a try and see what had changed since I’d last been there. I came here at noon for lunch and it was not busy at all. I tried to order grilled chicken and was informed the grilled chicken would not be ready for 30 minutes or so. I changed my order to spicy chicken tacos. It took at least 20 minutes for them to put the order together, despite the restaurant not being busy. The tacos themselves were flour tortillas that tasted like they were from the grocery store, very salty shredded chicken meat, and fried tortilla strips. Pretty disgusting. This place is up there for combination of slowest service and worst food in Manassas. Guarantee I will never be back here. Too many better places around, especially for this style of food.

Yeah, I love fried chicken so I gave this place a try. This is not typical American-style Southern fried chicken, it’s a Latin/South American chain so the spices are different but man, are they good! The chicken is freakin’ tasty, whatever it’s marinated in is delicious. I also like that it’s not too heavily breaded, just dusted and then fried. I usually get either black beans, plantains or cole slaw as a side. They also give you a choice of corn tortillas or bread roll. I’ve never tried any of the roasted chicken, go for the fried stuff. If you eat in they usually bring you a little boat of tortilla chips when you sit down and they deliver your order to your table. There’s a nice little fresh salsa bar too. Oh, and they have Strawberry Fanta on the soda fountain! Yay!
