Manassas Public Auto Auction sold me a 2006 Nissan Maxima with a faulty transmission and engine for $ 5800. When I test drove the car, the engine light remained on, and when I inquired about it, I was told it was no big issue and the light would go away if I put premium gas in the car. I was persuaded and pressured by the manager as well as general manager that the car was in «excellent condition» and it was a great buy and had no issues. I immediately started having problems with the car as I drove it home (only about 20 mins from the dealership location). The car is easily heated up with visible smoke coming from engine area, it gets stuck in one gear, and once turned off, it often does not start up without a jump start. It was not in a safe driving condition from the first day I brought it home. I had it towed back to the dealership. They took a look at it and claimed two fans needed to be changed. They charged me an additional $ 180 and claimed to have put in new fans. They provided me no receipts for the fans. When I checked, the fans were clearly old/​used. I took the car home, and all the above mentioned problems remained the same. I had two certified technicians from other companies take a look, and they clearly stated the car has a faulty transmission and engine issues. When I called the dealership again and tried to discuss this problem with a manager and seek compensation, the general manager were extremely rude and unprofessional, and claimed that he had nothing to do with this problem and was not even there when I bought the car, when in fact he was one of the people who repeatedly told me the car is in excellent condition. I am now at a loss of almost $ 6000 and I have a car which is utterly useless and unsafe to drive. I am extremely disappointed and upset at the unprofessional service and POOR QUALITY product this dealership has provided me. They LIED to me and sold me a faulty product. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone — they are unprofessional, dishonest, and untrustworthy.
