Essence Nail Spa

I’m no expert on nail spas… but I do know what feels good and what good service is all about.
This was my second time here and yes… I came back so it was good the first time and even better the second time.
A pedicure that is. You only get one pair so you better take care of them.
Helen took care of me both times and I’ll be asking for her by name when I return.
For $ 35 you get the ‘all natural’ products and it’s worth it.

This experience was one for the books. I got a mani pedi during my visit. I also got gel polish on my nails. The pedi itself was good but the paint looks like a 5 year old did it. My nails were rushed and the owner just hovered over us and I could tell he was rushing the girl doing my nails. I was there at closing. My nails were not painted all the way and weren’t in the light machine very long so I’m sure it will start peeling off soon.

When I first arrived I was given the impression that they could take me right away for a mani. However, they talked me into getting a pedi also and then put me in the chair with my feet in the water and left me for 30 min. while all the technicians worked on other clients. I would have appreciated it if they had been up front with me about the wait. I ended up only having time for the pedi which was done well, although the technician was rough. Then she left me again midway to go finish another client. I didn’t have time for the mani which is what I came for in the first place. Also I would have liked to have seen a price list posted. They tried to sell me different packages when all I wanted was a regular pedicure.

Do not let me man do your nails. get one of the girls! Got a gel mani/​pedi on Sunday. By Tuesday it was peeling and lifting off my nails. Today it’s completely off. the person who did my nails left me 8 times while I was in the chair, each time was to start on someone else. I could clearly see the tech was in a rush when he finally got the color on my nails– the paint was on my skin, let my hands under the light for 15 minutes with just the first layer of polish, I left with a tan line where my ring was. Something that could have taken 45 minutes took over and hour and a half. Then he wanted to do my eye brows and I told him no thanks and he got mad saying my eyebrows look horrible and he HAS to do them. Why would I want someone in such a rush to do my eyebrows? I told him no thanks I can see your in a rush and I would like the time taken to have a good job done. I went to the counter to pay and he rudely snatched the money out of my hand and gave me a dirty look. I did not tip him since he was so rude and I told him about how unprofessional he was being. I will not be going back.

I’ve been looking for a salon close to home that does quality work. I believe I have finally found that in Essence nail salon. I was able to walk right in and be seated. I received my usual gel manicure. My nail tech was extremely careful and detailed while working on my nails. I get the gel manicure because I have thin nails that break and peel easy. The products they used made my nails hard and gave them a shiny natural finished look. Would recommend this little tucked away salon!

Welllllllll — I came here for a mani/​pedi. Though the guy who did my feet/​nails was extremely sweet and personable, the actual WORK he did for me was «meh/​so-​so». First off, the spa pedi I received was not so impressive for $ 45 and he was a bit too rough for my liking w/​the scrub. It actually HURT. Then as far as the mani went it was extremely quick and it just was not of what I’m used to. The only PLUS is its literally 3min from my apt. I will be trying out some other salons near my apt, because for $ 70 I was NOT impressed.

This salon is fairly new to this area. Only being in business for 3 months. The entry way is warm and inviting. The pendent lights add a warm touch. Helen was fantastic. She was warm and inviting. There is a slight language barrier but her kindness made up for it. She gave me the best winter pedicure ever. I recommend visiting this nail salon.
