Literally waited for Delmar to paint on my hairline and proceed to outline it with chalk?!? Really? Ridiculous how some barbers can’t do a cut the natural way so they feel like they resort to run sharpie looking color on my edges to make it look nice? This was a complete waste of money I walked out looking like I could have been made fun of by elementary school kids … I should have known not to get in the barbers chair who had a complete painted on fake beard. However I didn’t see any of the other barbers using this terrible technique but still I won’t be back! P. s. The fake color washed out when I got home and I was left with an illusion of a haircut. Thumbs down

This was my first experience with Phil at cut-​rate barber shop in Old Town. I normally go to a different barber for my handicap brother but they were closed and he desperately needed a haircut. We walked in and Phil immediately greeted us and took great care of my brother. Phil was very kind and patient helping him into the seat. He took his coat as we arrived and not only gave it back as we left, but help him put it on and even zipped it for him! Oh, and aside from the great service provided, he did a very nice job on my brother’s hair. We will be back. Thank you Phil. By the way, the only reason I mention that my brother is handicap is because in more than one place we’ve gone into, we get no eye contact from available stylists. And when someone is finally assigned to cutting his hair, the zip right through it and do a very poor job. His hair is not the easiest to cut but I don’t think that’s the reason they’re ignoring him. Kudos to Phil. Thank you again

Phil, I met Phil in the Grounds Central Coffee Shop just down the street from this barber shop. Phil was energetic and engaging. I thought, what do I have to lose, other than some hair! :) I went to get my haircut there and he did a great job and the price was very reasonable. I look forward to going back there — as long as Phil is there.

Had heard about the new barber shop in old town that was generating a nice buzz for its contemporary look with the traditional barber shop feel.
My boyfriend decided to change it up from his usual barber and check it out. From the moment we walked in it had great vibes. Clean, nicely decorated, organized, friendly greeting from the staff.
It was a 10 right off the bat.
My boyfriend was pleased with his haircut as was I. He has since made this his barber of choice and happy to see this new business grow in beautiful old town.

I was looking for a great barbershop in the Manassas area. I stumbled upon Cutrate Barbershop and never went anywhere else. The owner is and a great guy and the barbers are extremely professional. Last but not least the barbershop environment is kid friendly!

Nothing special, just a quick trim, was cut by clippers (drew blood) and the guy didn’t apologize or offer a discount.
Had a bad cut, but didn’t want to ask for more since I didn’t want to get cut open again. I had to get it fixed elsewhere.
Didn’t feel the same care and attention I have felt at other places in the area.
Conversation appreciated, but then ogling at women who walk past the shop window and general misogynistic conversation that followed was weird and sleazy, I’d feel very uncomfortable/​judged as a female.
Long wait time — takes all the barbers way too long to create a perfect line on some customer’s heads. I understand that’s the style and what a lot of people want (just not for me) but I’ve seen it done a lot quicker.

Fantastic cut and service at a reasonable rate. See Sean, awesome barber! Got there on a Saturday as they were opening. Took me right in. A must try.
