Manalapan Country Lanes

Was in there this past sunday, People bowling next to us had no regards to my daughter and acting wild. Games were supposed to $ 1.50 and was charged $ 5.00 per game. Will never go back here again.

The strikes are EZ. The scoring system is a little old. Friendly staff. Great rates during the summer. Stay cool.

The few times that we bowled here, we were not that impressed. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, so three stars is definitely rounding up. The establishment seems fairly dated, although I don’t recall ever stepping into an alley that deviates from the 1970’s ambiance. But it’s pretty evident that this bowling alley has seen some things, and could use a makeover. The cost for two games for two people kind of left me in disbelief. But we don’t bowl much, so it’s difficult to guage just how much I overpaid. The selection for balls was pretty slim. Granted we did come on a Friday evening, and most of the lanes were already being used. I get it. The food and drinks were expensive, so we didn’t splurge. Just a spur of the moment thing to do between dinner and a movie, ended up costing more than I anticipated.

The staff is friendly enough, but the facility is a bit grimy/​dirty. The men’s bathroom is downright disgusting. On a Saturday night we had 3 lanes reserved for my daughter’s 10^th birthday (7−9pm) and they let us bring in a cake which was cool. $ 210 for 3 lanes for 2hrs… included a pitcher of soda and a pizza for each lane. This is a decent deal as we had 14ppl bowling. Where else can you get 14ppl, 2hrs of recreation and food for that little $. (Just note, the pizza was under-​cooked and a bit nasty). The local league members have a predatory attitude and were eyeing us… I think because we were on «their lane». Grow up people, it’s bowling for Christ sake… and there were a bunch of 10yr old girls on your lane. Go polish your balls or something. It’s a good deal overall and the kids have fun– just ignore the «regulars» and expect to deal with some creepy clientele.
