Pretty decent as far as shop rites go. I love the size, and it’s quite well organized despite tons of people on a day like NYE.

This is the worst Shop Rite I have ever been in and I am a big Shop Rite shopper for many years. It is disorganized, very crowded, dirty, and poorly managed. You have to PAY to get a grocery cart, which you receive back when you are finished. Most of the time the cart corral does not work so you lose your money. Even though the store is very crowded with shoppers, you have to bag your own groceries. The store personnel are very nice, but it is managed very poorly. I will take my business elsewhere.

This store is clean and well lit. The employees are courteous and knowledgable. The reason for the .25 locking carts is so your car doors don’t get dinged up, you receive your .25 back when you put your cart in the cart corral, or live on the edge and let someone else find your cart with the .25 in it! The Stafford/Manahawkin/Long beach Island area has tourists shopping in this Shoprite June 30– Labor Day. It is crowded because the tourists shop enmasse, as a cluster of a whole family dawdling down the aisles. After the season ends, it resumes being a normal shoprite during daytime hours. If you can’t tolerate crowds in the summer then shop after 830 pm and it is peaceful or spring for the $ 250. Order and delivery to your home is free!

Going to this shoprite is a nightmare. No matter when you go customers are packed like sardines in the aisles. The employees are not proactive and I have often had to interrupt employee employee conversations(social) to ask for help. Some Bön Farrell customer service training may help this store out! Also parking for parents with small children would be nice, I’m just saying.

Have always been very pleased with this Shoprite(and have been to other stores in the area)…everyone in my family has shopped there for the 23 years living down the shore… The management team is extremely interested in the customer… when shopping you can see them going nonstop to make sure everything is clean, organized and functioning at top level. They treat there employees like family, and it shows! Some mention very busy on holidays… Yes, but to me that is a good thing,(shows where everyone wants to shop), but never chaos… Great store, exceptional Management Team, and Employees!

I’m not a big fan of this ShopRite because it’s always so crowded. The people who shop here are so Rude! I was 7 months pregnant and I had multiple people not see me and pump right into me slamming my stomach into the shopping cart multiple times and I ended up having a bruise on my stomach later that day at home. Not a fan of the bakery here either. They place way too much icing on the cakes. I recommend ShopRite of Medford which is a little farther for me to travel but totally worth it!

This place was absolute chaos on July 4th! The bf and I visited this place to pick up hot dogs, hamburgers, etc on the way to 4th of July festivities. They had absolutely NO ripe avocados! They were phosphorescent neon green, in fact. Their customer service was also not great… whenever we asked any of the employees for anything, they had a very glazed look in their eyes for a few seconds until they registered what we had asked. What I found amusing was that their express lane was 28 items or less. 28??? Wow… says a lot about this place and how packed /chaotic it is! They do have a big parking lot, which is nice, but I think I’d opt to go somewhere less crowded /with better service in the future. Perhaps it was the day we visited, but the store was quite disorganized and did not have everything we needed.

Great store. Just prepare to deal with one thing. After checkout you get wedged into a really skinny isle next to the front windows and you WILL be stuck behind a senior citizen who has no freegin idea you are behind them. They will stop and check the receipt, or to put on their gloves, coat, scarf, etc and you have no choice but to say«move it grams/gramps». I felt bad the first few times, but now, I look forward to it. Although one time an elderly couple’s son took them and told them to get out of the way for me, and I was kinda bummed out…

So I recently moved to the area from Cherry Hill and Shop Rite is not even a 5 minute drive from my new home. I’ve always been a fan of Wegman’s but there isn’t one around here so I gave Shop Rite a shot. We went on a Sunday afternoon so I expected crowds but wow, it was ridiculously packed. To the point where it was getting hard to go down isles with the cart and as a result very frustrating. I do like the fact that they have prepackaged deli meats and cheeses because to wait in that line would’ve taken 20 minutes. However, there wasn’t much of a selection and the package dates on the ham I was looking at was January 2 or 3(I was there on the 5th) with the sell date being the 6th. I warily purchased it but I don’t think it will last me much after the today(the 6th) because it is starting to lose it’s pinkness. I may also be nit picking, but I can’t stand the cart fiasco. I’ve never in my life seen a grocery store that made you put a quarter in to get a cart. I get why, so people return them to the cart area, but still seems futile. All in all, it was ok, but I never went to the Shop Rite near my old residence because I didn’t like their deli meat and preferred Wegman’s. I was hoping it was just that one Shop Rite but it seems I am wrong. I miss my Wegman’s :-(

This Shop Rite is big BIG B-I-G! No matter what time you stop in, there’s always a ton of people there shopping. They have a huge bakery & prepared foods section as soon as you go in; a nice variety of pre-made sushi as well. The fruit & veg section always has fresh veggies. The prices are pretty good, and are usually running deals or specials of some kind. The store’s always been clean, and can find pretty much anything you could want. Stop here before you go onto LBI& stock up.

They need a Larger Shop Rite in Manahawkin, but they do a very good job with what they have, very good weekly sales, everything is always fresh, you can also order hero sandwiches that arent bad for the price

I’ve been using shop rite ever since they were on Bay ave. Yeah for all you«youngin’s» they use to be across the street from the flea market. Average price on name brands so look for store brands and local sales to save the most money. Definetly get a club card too. I don’t understand the concept other than marketing(just lower price for everyone) but get it anyway. Really good sandwich bar too if your on the run or need a meal in a hurry.

What do you want??? The Shop Rite of Manahawkin probably has it! This is the largest Shop Rite that I’ve seen. The bakery and deli section is huge. There are touch screen stations where you can place your order for deli and cold cuts, it prints out a receipt, and you go about you shopping and go back and pick it up, all sliced and ready to go, at the time on your slip. Many breads, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods. Also a sandwich center. Good seafood section and being so close to the water much of it is right off of the boats and at a very good price. Super fresh vegetables and produce, with an abundance of Jersey grown. The pickles section has 42 facings — hello! Pretty much an abundance selection of whatever you’re looking for with food. Also a book/magazine aisle, a seasonal aisle with a good selection of beach stuff. The shopping carts are ones where you have a put in a quarter to get the cart out and then you get it back when you return the cart, so make sure you have a quarter handy. I debated on removing a star since it is ALWAYS crowded — with the local senior citizens to all of the tourists going on to the island. Note: Do NOT attempt on a Saturday during the summer due to all of the renters coming on to the island. Keeping it at 5 stars since I always get a kick out of going in to this store.
