Awesome location. Great jumping off point for day hikes. Food at the restaurant is good and the service is professional. Shuttles about every 20 minutes.

Took my daughter on a 2 hour horseback trip to Rainbow Falls near Devils Postpile National Monument.
The horses were predictably placid and sure-​footed and the trip was delightful. We had time at Rainbow Falls to hike to the base and take some pictures.
We took a different route back which was nice.
The only thing to be aware of is that the time to get down here from Mammorth Lakes can be longer than you might expect. Allow at LEAST 30 minutes and 45 minutes will be more relaxing.
