Stood there for 15 minutes. No «hello» nothing. Employee after employee just walked past me without even saying anything. Note that the door was completely open and it was way before closing(about 2 hours before closing). Of the 4 employees milling about, nobody smiles or gives me the time of day. Finally, one guy says«Oh have you been helped yet?» I say frustratingly«No.» «Ok let me get someone.» Then he continues just milling about getting himself drinks from the soda machine etc. After 15 mins of walking in, a cashier says«Um, I think we are closed.» At this point I was livid. «Do you think you’re closed or know you’re closed. What time do you close?» She responds«We close at 4.» I say«It’s 2.» She rambles off some incoherent and unacceptable excuse about running out of bread or something else that defied all common sense. I stood there for 15 minutes and NOTONE person could smile and tell me that they were closed? Will I be back? Absolutely not.

The food was standard bakery/café food. If you order any blended, iced, or hot drinks though… prepare for the wait. I finished my meal wayyyyyy before my drink came… and it was a small. I believe the person making my drinks forgot we even ordered drinks. On the plus side, they have many choices!

Old New York Deli seriously rocks. Everything here is incredible! So many types of cream cheese to pick from(my favorite is the spinach and artichoke). We normally come for breakfast but sometimes we’re lucky enough to get over for lunch. If you’re gonna go for lunch, I recommend getting one of the burgers! The burgers are some of the best in Mammoth. The thousand island is ONPOINT and cooked perfectly. The other day, I went to the deli and got a BLT. SOMUCHBACON! The sourdough is incredible, not like other sourdough breads. Get the CHIPOTLEMAYO. Put it on any sandwich. I can’t even finish this review, I’m going to the deli.

Very disappointing — vanilla latte was not good so I returned it and in spite of the sign that says we will be happy to make everything to your pleasure — the lady simply said«ok». I also ordered a cinnamon bagel with honey. It took so long that the latte was cold and when I finally got the bagel, it was cold.

1st, the food was very good. 2nd, the staff was very poorly trained. I ordered the Chipotle Grilled Chicken sandwich with a green salad and when asked what dressing I replied«olive oil and vinegar». I also ordered a double espresso. My husband ordered the Reuben sandwich. After 15 minutes I heard our number called to come answer a question… They didn’t have any chipotle sauce and wanted to know if mayo was okay… Hmm, would have been good to know when ordering. Then I went to sit down. Then I heard our number called again for my double espresso that had been waiting. Of course it was cold. No one mentioned we picked up our food or coffee drinks. The employee made me a fresh espresso. When our food came up and I went to get it there was no olive old for my salad. My husband went to ask for it and was told they didn’t have any. Again, t would have been nice to know when ordering. Nice staff, great food, poor management/ownership.

Worst sandwiches ever. The bread was stale, hard as a rock. They call it a turkey cranberry but only one side of the sandwich had any cranberry and it was a blob in the center. The salads that were ordered had the BBQ chicken placed on the wrong salad. Have had decent breakfasts there in the past but won’t be returning.

Delicious! Stopped in for a quick breakfast. I had a turkey bacon bagel sandwich, my friends all tried the breakfast burritos. Went back the next day for more burritos!

One star is too much for this restaurant. We returned three dishes out of six that we ordered. The service his horrific, no manager on site. We spend the rest of the afternoon in the bathroom. I will never be back to this dump.

I am a big fan of getting breakfast here. They have a great selection of bagels and cream cheeses, fresh made oj and an extensive menu. The veggie breakfast burrito is always a good choice, filled with eggs, broccoli, spinach and other colorful veggies. Simply a great place to fill up before hitting the slopes.

This place is great. There’s always a line out the door. Their bagels are fresh and they have all the usual a. Their breakfast sandwiches, croissants, bagels and burritos are all great. You can’t go wrong. It’s always packed, so expect to wait in line.

I had a very tasty breakfast bagel called The Fast Hash which had a fried egg, corned beef hash, and cheddar cheese. It was very tasty and the bagel had a a nice chewy consistency. Unfortunately, there was nothing Fast about the Fast Hash — I must have showed up during the morning crush and waited at least 20 minutes for my bagel after I ordered it. The corned beef hash had kind of a strange pâté-like consistency, but it was still tasty and went well with the sandwich. I would not recommend this place if you’re in any kind of a hurry. They’re very quick to take your order(and your money), but they’re very slow about making the food. If you’re not in a hurry, then it’s pretty good.

Thank you very much for my works bagel with cream cheese. The only issue is that I ordered it with butter, hate cream cheese, and did not discover your mistake until I was on the road out of town.

Amazing bagel breakfast sandwiches. Bagel breakfast sandwiches are my favorite breakfast meal… and these people have perfected it. I had the ham egg and cheese on the everything bagel and it was unforgettable. I will come here every time I’m in Mammoth.

First off, we’ve been coming here for many years and it’s usually pretty good. Lately they have been getting bad. The lines are long, but when you wait 15 minutes only to find out that they ran out of something that was in the window when you ordered. There also seems to be the issue of order consistency. Something they sadly can no longer do. Disappointed and probably not coming back

First thing’s first: The staff is consistently really friendly and above-and-beyond helpful. My boyfriend had a truly nasty water-borne virus left over from a backpacking trip last year, and they were so kind as to give me a big takeout bowl of their matzoh ball soup broth(free of all chicken, dumplings, and vegetables) for half-off with a free bagel tossed in. Seriously, that’s just awesome. This is the kind of place where half the menu is stellar and the other half just… isn’t. And you never quite know which side you’ll be on! I’ll say that their Early Riser no. 5 breakfast sandwich is amazing, their asiago cheese bagels are delicious, their latkes are a special treat, and their fresh-squeezed orange juice is exactly what you need the day after you get off the trail. Their strawberry/banana smoothie deserves a five-star review of its own. The funniest thing for me is all the little Ashkie things thrown in there. I am 98% positive no Jewish person has ever worked there, because otherwise why would they serve Hamantaschen and latkes all year round, and pronounce challah like«tshallah» and matzo brei like«matzoe bree»? But to a Hamantaschen-deprived Jewish girl on the trail, it’s nice anyway :)

Decent breakfast spot in the quaint village of Mammoth. A classic style New York Deli. Pros: — Easy walking access to/from resort area — Big menu — Everything a deli should be Cons: — Like everything in the area, they are tourist trap expensive — Food takes a while to come out, mainly because the place is usually crowded — I was perturbed when I got a breakfast sandwich and it wasn’t cut in half and had to walk back for a knife. Not bad, all things considered.

UPDATE: we came back and were less impressed on the third try. We ate breakfast here every morning. 1st day was great, read my previous review. Second morning my bagel was burnt but they wrapped it to go anyways. That sucked. This morning i got bacon on my egg sandwich. Instead of cutting the bacon the laid it in an X so that most of the bacon was hanging over and i had to operate on my food before i could eat it. A bit messy. Eggs overcooked and an eggshell in my sandwich The treadmill omelet was watery bland despite tons of ingredients needed onions maybe? Cheese wasn’t melted, potatos seriously salty and not crispy at all. The pancakes were huge and cooked perfectly. Sorry for the downgraded review but i hope this feedback helps.
