This is a review for the campsite. Twenty-eight sites to meet your camping needs. A creek full of trout to satisfy your hunger pangs. The infinite sound of water on water. Hundreds of mosquitoes to sample your blood. Sites are spaced closer than what you may see on-line so read campsite descriptions carefully and choose wisely. Shade is at a premium, so If you can get the right site, hold onto it as long as you can. If you let it go and it comes back to you, it was meant to be. Each site comes with a formidable bear locker for all your precious jewelry, iPads and small animals. I give it 13 years before bears figure out how to open these things. Fishing is merely yards away — you could probably cast from your site and end up catching some kind of wonderful in those trout-filled waters. We didn’t, but our neighbors did and gave us their catch for dinner. Thanks, Jim & Caroline. Bathrooms are cleaner than yours, certified by the gallons of bleach used to disinfect each of the eight bathrooms each and every morning. Each site holds about two cars and two large tents, come with a 2″ wide fire pit with grillin capabilities and a picnic table to sleep on. Good luck getting in touch with the park ranger. They stay hidden like a bad disease. Oh yeah, no showers here, so bring on the musk.

Just about 8 miles south of Mammoth Lakes is McGee creek, it’s an easy drive and the trail which is about 8 miles out and back is breathtaking. It’s easy to moderate in difficuly. Our dog ran circles around us! The fall colors are incredible with the backdrop of the towering mountians in the backround. If you want a easy 4 – 5 hour hike you have to check this place out!
