I don’t know why it took us so long to give Jimmy’s a try, but we’re coming back! Very pleasant interior, calming Mediterranean music added to the ambience. Service was friendly, proactive and passionate about the offerings. My wife and I shared the pear salad, and we both had the free range chicken entrée. The chicken, prepared with chard and a potato cake, was one of the most flavorful chicken dishes I’ve ever had.

Pricey and delicious. I ate the crab legs. WHAT?! In MAMMOTH?! It was just outstanding. So was the sweet potato soup. No complaints. Every bite was good. People have said«everything smells smokey» and I think that’s true — and it’s good. There is a slight scene of smokiness to much of the food. The salad was fresh. It’s what I call a special meal. We ALMOST went back a second night(and probably should have).

Five stars all the way! It is rare to find a gem like this in a tourist town like Mammoth. I was pleasantly surprised by their service, décor and even more so by their food. Corkage was only $ 20 so we brought our own wine. We ordered the Grilled Octopus Salad, Poached Pear Salad, King Crab Legs, Rack of Lamb, and their House Specialty, Oven Roasted Whole Sea Bass. Everything was executed to perfection, with the King Crab legs being the star of the show. Next time, I want to try their Seared Diver Scallops as well. Their Greek Salad was fresh and colorful, and Colorado Rack of Lamb just melted in the mouth! The oven roasted whole fish was just as good as the best restaurant in Napa Valley! We could not be happier with our meal. Our server Alex, Sommelier Bradford, and Chef Jimmy all came to check on us. We even enjoyed a complimentary dessert called Chocolate Decadence. A must-go when in town!

This is a fantastic Greek Spot! We definitely got hooked and came a couple of times on our ski vacation. Beautiful atmosphere great friendly service(props to our bar tender!). The food was perfection. We had loupe de mare and tried a couple of salads octopus and Greek. Highly recommend!

Really really really wanted to eat here. Checked hours on Unilocal and on website. Went to eat there Thursday, Oct 8 at 8:15pm. Got there and it was dark(along with the Chinese restaurant in the lower level). No sign on the door. Called from the parking lot, no answer but message said they should be open. Walked around to side entrance — door to kitchen/cooler was open, lights on. Door to bar propped open with keg. No lights on except in kitchen. Walked into dark restaurant area and called HELL-OOOOOOOoooo, hoping to speak to a human. There was nobody there — kind of creeped me out so we left. Still have no idea what was going on. Website now says they are closed for a short time???

This place was fantastic. I really mean that. Now truly, in Mammoth, I’m not usually looking for fine dining. I’ll typically find my way to Grumpy’s for a quick bite and that’s that. However, we spent a week up here and wanted a nice night out. Greek food struck me – as it usually does, what can I say — and it couldn’t shake it. After a quick & trusty Unilocal search for Greek cuisine, Jimmy’s popped up. I’m so glad it did. First off, the building has two restaurants in it. Bottom story is a Chinese(?) food restaurant, and the top story is Jimmy’s Greek. Upon walking up the stairs and entering Jimmy’s, I was entranced by the beautiful décor. It looked straight out of Santorini. Beautiful white and blue hues with pops of yellow that I imagine the beautiful cliffside Greek isles to encompass. I literally took pictures of the tile and seats because it was so pretty and wanted to redo my entire house like it. …kidding. Kinda. Our waiter was so attentive and friendly. I wanted the Avgolemono as a starter, which unfortunately they don’t offer. I was fine with that, but he said«I’ll see what I can do. Let me talk to the chef.» He came back with a beautiful bowl of Avgolemono and it was some of the best I’ve had. The food was fabulous. We tried the Avgolemono(lemon chicken soup) to start out and it was flawless. The drizzle of olive oil on top complimented the perfect balance of chicken, lemon, and egg broth. I ordered the lamb skewer, and it was literally perfect. Garlicky, cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, and yes… just overall flawless. The sides of rice, vegetables, and pita were a delicious addition. My handsome date got the swordfish(yes I stole bites) and it had a delicious sprinkling of baked garlic on top. Is it obvious how much I love garlic? Don’t care. Love love love it. Greek isn’t your typical Sierra Nevada dining food, and it’s not necessarily what comes to mind all the time while camping. BUT, oh my word. Jimmy’s blew me away completely. I don’t think I’ll be able to return to Mammoth without making a stop at Jimmy’s.

It’s a good restaurant, but a little elitist, in my opinion. I stopped in on a slow night and went straight to my table. Despite there being only 5 tables and 2 servers, the service was still mediocre(I suppose I would call it average for a not-as-expensive restaurant). The portions were small but pricey, and took quite a while to be served. I actually liked the food quite a bit. The grilled salmon entrée was tasty, with a good seasoning, but it was gone in 6 small bites. The potato pancakes were good, but sorta fell apart as I was eating them(like pressed mashed potatoes). I thought the pita bread was a nice touch, but I ended up devouring the entire tray myself while waiting over 30 minutes for the entrée to arrive. Bonus points for the Free glass of wine w/check-in(but I really don’t think it’s worth the $ 10 it’s supposed to cost… it wasn’t that great). The décor was very nice too!(See photo). I might recommend this place to someone looking for a fancier meal, but I doubt I’ll be back. There’s some other upscale restaurants in town that I prefer :)

On a recent trip to Mammoth we spent an entire day snowed in, playing board games and wearing our pajamas. Late in the evening we decided to shuck the shut in attire and go for a bite of food. We walked over to Jimmy’s for some Greek food and I’m so glad that we did. The décor is adorable and the food is a modern take of Greek traditions. We had the octopus salad and delightful Greek salad and then pita with dips. The service was just average but the rest of the meal made up for it. We’ll definitely stop in on our next ski trip!
