Sage Deli

Awful place. The service is absolutely dreadful– the workers are obnoxious, rude, and generally disgusting. If that weren’t bad enough, their food is foul. I recently purchased some «fresh» turkey from them that smelled rancid as well as being completely tasteless. There are many good delis in Mamaroneck, but this is far from being one of them. Do yourself a favor– avoid Sage at all costs, and give your money to some place that doesn’t treat paying customers like crap.

Best Sausage and Pepper Sandwich ever.

I’ll start with the good: their roast beef is perfectly rare & delicious. I will return for that alone, but if craving something different, I’ll look elsewhere. I ordered that roast beef on a hero with coleslaw, & I never saw a sandwich so suffocated in slaw. I merely scraped it off & enjoyed the beef, though it was a primitive mess.
I also ordered their homemade macaroni salad, which was a total failure — sticky and a tad bitter. My friend ordered the ziti & potato salad, both of which disappointed. The ziti was clumpy with a tasteless tomato sauce, & might have been sitting around too long.
I’m convinced their «fresh» mozzarella was old — it looked downright sorry sitting there exposed to dry air all day.
Customer relations are awkward, so don’t expect a warm welcome. The entire operation seems clumsy & cold. However, I will return for that roast beef with coleslaw on the side.
Hopefully they will wake up & try a bit harder. It’s a one-​hit wonder now, with lots of room for improvement (like a table or two with some chairs!).

If you love rare roast beef you will never ever buy it anywhere else! It is like velvet (if you get what I mean) so soft and great tasting! I was there yesterday and they had just taken four roasts out of the oven, I wanted to move in!!! All their cold cuts are great! Also in the winter their soups are perfect, especially the split pea soup. Everyone who works there is very nice and receptive! I never go to Mamaroneck or Larchmont without coming here. The best Deli in the area, Sage is famous for it’s numbered hero combos. Long lists of great combos for both hot and cold heros line the entire wall behind the counter. They also have a small «family» kitchen that has daily specials.
