This was our first time here. The menu had a lot of choices. A nice selection of specials. The food was outstanding and our waiter was great with an excellent sense of humor. Would not hesitate to go back.

Disappointed on Valentine’s Day. We picked Cedar Hollow for our special dinner because it is a favorite. Unfortunately, this time was not! Could understand«no $ 1.00 oysters tonight» since it was a holiday. The dinner menu was special — and very pricey! My husband has enjoyed the«duck» dinner before, at a much lower price, and on several occasions we shared the meal. His portion on 2⁄14 was much smaller. My veal scallopini was adequate, but not exceptional. We both left very disappointed. Hopefully, on our next visit we will see the regular menu and prices. I must say that Nancy, our server, is always pleasant, with excellent Customer Service! Carol B., Blue Bell

I dined here for New Years Eve with my family. Completely different menu than what is posted online. No mention of a special overpriced menu for NYE. Prices were tripled and portions halved. Service was slow. I felt ripped off. Would definitely check to make sure there is no bait and switch menu action before considering visiting this place.

Food was delicious. Mushroom soup was amazing. Wings not so much… tasted prefrozen. We ate at the bar and the service was slow and surly.

We live right nearby and have given them a chance at least 6 times… hoping to see why so many people like this place. Still can’t figure it out. Average to below average food. They have a good bar scene, which is why I think people enjoy it so much, but I’m done giving them chances. PS-parking was ample.

Excellent evening. Although we live in the area, have not been here and sorry that we missed out all these years. We first arrived and went to the bar to wait for friends. The bartenders were excellent, quick service and very kind and helpful. A great vib. Was surprised that they had such an extensive craft beer list. When our friends arrived, we were seated in the dining room — spacious and well maintained. The meal was awesome: The mushroom soup is incredible and a MUST; I had the Osso Buco, which was just right portion; and friends had prime rib which was quite sizeable, and well prepared. Dessert we enjoyed pumpkin cheesecake — also awesome. Service was good; and the dining room a little loud, but bearable. We definitely will be back!

Never failed us** My wife and I have dined here 4 times before this Sunday night dinner. Meals and drinks have ALWAYS been on point, and our wait staff was very attentive… beginning to end, and tonight Joe made it another Home Run## As of this date all day Sundays oysters on the ½ shell are only…$ 1 ea. with 5 – 6 different types to choose from. Being a «boy&girl from Philly» we had to try them all… Our appetizer of shredded Brussels sprouts were the perfect accompliment to our iced bi-valves…They were all excellent washed down with an icy cold«Not your father’s Root Beer» The pork Oso Buco, with a wine demi glacé and creamy risotto… wonderful. The pork shank slowly braised till the moist meat almost falls off the bone the creamy texture of my risotto. richly decadent. the marrow… Devine ! The half roasted duck, cherries in wine reduction, creamy mashed potatoes, slim & tender & sweet asparagus .made a beautiful presentation. The duck was done perfectly… crispy skin on the outside… moist flavorful meat(deboned)inside .resting on just the right amount of fragrant cherry reduction. All deserts are made in house… so leave a little room.or.llike we did. take 2 home for later!!!

Part of our Philly weekend, my wife and I found this gem near our hotel after a long wonderful day touring the historic district of Philadelphia. Apart from walking in the muddy parking lot across thie street from this country inn, our experience was very pleasant. We were seated in the front room with a nice view outside. My wife had a chicken dish with macaroni and cheese mixed in. I had the grilled scallops with mashed potatoes. No problem substituting grilled asparagus for the brussel sprouts it was supposed to come with. Service was attentive and the live music in the bar was an extra bonus

For lunch it was very good. Cobb salad was fresh, nice white chicken breast on top with plenty of bleu cheese and bacon bits on top. The prine rib shaved sandwich was even better. Very tender prime rib with melted cheese and onion soup dipping sauce on a tender hoagie roll. The service was very attentive and friendly. Maybe try it for dinner one night.

Friendly service, and the venison and spinach salad was fabulous New Year’s Eve, but in a half empty dining room and with a NOT inexpensive menu on New Year’s Eve, we were seated in restaurant Siberia by the kitchen doors and bathrooms… which was also the path from the bar so we got the bar revelers constantly going past as well. All I wanted was a romantic table for two not marooned in the center of the room! And they had the room! Also the dining room was freezing cold and the staff started breaking down the dining room for late night festivities before all who had paid for New Year’s Eve dinner were even finished! That is just rude, and one table had just been seated when that occurred. I had been so looking forward to visiting this restaurant too! This place has so much potential but they need to work out the kinks

Great place. Great atmosphere. Prices are representative of the quality and portions of food served. Try the chili! It is excellent!

We just moved to the area and had to try this place. People are always in, heavy on the weekends, from casual to business formal attire. We went in for a late dinner and had happy pleasant service throughout. Small dining spaces but cozy and excellent choices ranging from light and healthy to stick to your ribs rustic upscale cuisine. We tried the soups, cheese plate, sirloin tip sandwich, crème brûlée and cheesecake. All were very satisfying and memorable, if not all perfect on the blending of texture/flavors. A cranky man left when he tried to get into the dining room at 9 when they closed down the kitchen. They have nice specials, art classes, quiz nights, and the bar seemed full but not crowded when we left before 10. I saw many things I want to try on future visits and was very satisfied and taken care of this time.

This is a great place to grab lunch during the week. There are not too many restaurants on this side of Malvern, so the office complex nearby seems to be where most of the lunch patrons come from. Great selection of salads and sandwiches, along with hot entrees. The service is good. They have a great selection of craft beer for the happy hour patrons. Relaxed atmosphere makes for an enjoyable meal.

I went here for my anniversary one night. We still talk about it, the way people still talk about the burning of Rome. I’m honestly surprised this place is still in business. I would drive by regularly on my commute and it always seemed busy. People said it had a good reputation for lunch so I made reservations and in due course we showed up. The place was not crowded at all. Apart from people at the bar there were all of three couples dining there. Were we given a table on the picturesque enclosed porch? No. Were we asked if we’d like to eat outside? No. We were given a table in the back of a nearly empty dining room with a splendid view of the kitchen by staff that projected the feeling that customers were getting in the way of what ever it was they wanted to be doing at that time. Another couple had it even worse. by the door to the patio the man was bumped every time staff went in or out, finally asked for a different table and told, ‘there are none available’ in a nearly empty room, walked out. The food itself was insipid. I had the crab ravioli in a thin, greasy sauce and no flavor. My wife was equally unimpressed with the food and service. The lasting impression was that it was very like an episode of Fawlty Towers, only I wasn’t laughing. Not only will I never go back there again I make sure people know what sort of dinner service I experienced. Oddly, or not, no one I’ve spoken too has ever stood up for the place.

Forget our drinks came individually 15 minutes apart, they forgot water despite offering and then being asked TWICE . Our order of calamari was very dark brown yet incredibly«mushy». I puzzled over this all weekend being in the business myself. The conclusion I came to was it was cooked at too high an oil temperature(burnt) then left sitting under the heat lamp while the lettuce it was upon sweated enough to make the calamari squishy. We all tasted(bad) and asked to return it. It returned 5 min. later even darker and absolutely horrible tasting. I called the waitress over and asked if they had simply re-fried it and she said«Yes, I told them I didn’t think that was right.» Perhaps the grossest thing I’ve ever tasted. And the waitress knew yet brought it. We won’t be back.

Enjoyed brunch today to celebrate my sister-in-law’s 60BD. The food was good in this little out if the way spot. The mushroom bisque was full of tasty mushrooms but I would have enjoyed it more with a little less salt. My crab cake Benedict was a tasty variation of the standard. All in all a nice brunch experience.

Went to the Cedar Hollow for the first time in years last night to play some Quizzo with Big Mike, who runs the Quizzo show here weekly. This visit was LONGOVERDUE! I had forgotten how good the food and service is here! A fun and friendly atmosphere at the bar. Quizzo is played in the bar area, which has a nice U shaped bar with seating for about 18 or so and a few tables as well. There is a bar menu, which is a subset of the main menu. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizza, wings. Standard bar fare, but they also have Duck Quesadillas, Lamb Sliders, Homemade Crabcakes, and Stuffed Portabellas on there which really make the bar menu stick out… and give you some hint at what delights await you on the main menu! I had the hot wings(40c each during Quizzo), which I found fantastic and my girl had the salad with grilled chicken. BIG fresh salad, yummy grilled chicken. Another member of our group had the pizza which not only looked delicious, but was prepared with fresh toppings. My girl rethought her salad when she saw the pizza! They also have a few dessert selections… cheesecakes, crème brule… I went for the flourless chocolate torte served with strawberry drizzle, whipped cream, and a couple strawberries… YUM! In addition to the fine food they have a pretty substantial beer menu and several specialties on tap, which are displayed on a blackboard. As crowded as the bar was during Quizzo, the sole bartender, Christina, did a great job keeping drinks full and customers happy. Kudos to the service with a smile last night! There are a few parking spots in front of the building, but the main parking lot is across the street from the Cedar Hollow. Can’t miss it! Check out calendar to see what food and drink specials they have as well as what nights they have live music! We are anxious to go back and try the dinner menu, don’t miss this hidden gem in Malvern!

We had a lovely dinner there on Friday. We had a nice little table on the enclosed porch which had nice character. It was just busy enough. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The food was marvelous! I had fresh pesto topped Blue Marlin with Grilled Scallops over a bed of wild rice. My companion had the Pork Loin wrapped in bacon served with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. Both dishes were mouth watering and delicious! The wine selection, although limited offered some good options. The band kicked up just as we ended our meal so we headed to the bar for a night cap. The music was substantially louder but it was appropriate for the setting. What a nice little gem! We will definitely be making a return trip!

I haven’t been to Cedar Hollow Inn for a while. I had found it too noisy in the past. The wait staff put us in the back room by a wall., so it was much quieter then in the past. Also this was Sunday evening, so the restaurant was not full. As for the food, well it could have been better. Sorry to say. If you want a good mushroom soup, they don’t have it here. It really is not easy for me to say that. Besides the soup my friends and I had Striped Bass, Shrimp and Grits and Scallops Lite Fare. The Inn has a section with light fare, that you would think means smaller portions. The striped Bass was for a regular portion but was rather small in size. It was good according to my friend. M yshrimp dish was light fare, and the shrimp were delicious, but I’d skip the grits. too heavy and cheesy. The best dish out of all was the light fare scallops. We all agreed. I want to give this place a better review, but saddly it just didn’t do it for me.

This comfortable restaurant is tucked away in a pocket, and I get the feeling it has been around for some time. It’s not small, with several dining rooms and window seats. It was crowded with corporate types that morning, but the crowd depends on the time or day of the week. Mondays are«All you can eat King Crab legs», while there are days with drink specials, plus live music Thursdays and Fridays. At the bar, Justin served us with flying colors. He gave my friend directions[1] over the phone to find them, then suggested I try their shaved prime rib sandwich. I agreed, and loved it: my sammich dealy-o was delicious and moist as all get-out, slow-roasted and served with a(sadly) barely-noticeable horseradish cream. Jalapenos and provolone cheese topped it off. [1] Even with a GPS, there’s no guarantee you’ll get there — directions on my friend’s sent her astray.
