Definitivamente volveremos a venir. El servicio fue bueno, con un mesero muy sonriente que contagia. La comida buena! La experiencia lindisima!

My second time here and 3rd time in general(once at the WeHo) location. I don’t think the food is as great as everyone raves about. The ribeye was the best and sushi is sub-par to the more authentic places in LA(sushi gen, urasawa, shunji, etc). We had: –Field Greens Salad: very bland –Tempura Shrimp: good but not great –Spicy Tuna Lettuce Wraps: one of my favorites –CrispyBrussels Sprouts: I love brussels sprouts but they didn’t really stand out to me. Not very crispy but kinda soggy –Yellowtail Sashimi: YUMMMM –Toro Tartare w/caviar: delicious, tangy, tender toro. You can’t go wrong. — Ribeye Truffle Butter: this is the star of the show, definitely a MUST. and the crispy onions are the best. Not sure how this is Japanese but whatever! –Black Cod Miso: also another signature dish of theirs. Beautiful presentation and another good cooked dish –Dessert: all pretty good but standard The reason you go is for the ambience and the VIEW. You can’t beat the killer view of the Malibu waves crashing over the side of the patio. I was lucky enough that both times I went for work functions, we rented out the Fireplace Patio. I’m spoiled, I know! I don’t think I could ever go back if I wasn’t able to sit outside and enjoy the view down PSH and hear the water: P Anyways, the food is 3 stars and if I could do half star, the view would bump it up to a 3.5 Service is VERY great, staff are very knowledgable on the food and wine and accommodating. Very polite and professional.

Came here with no reservations on valentines day weekend and was quoted a 3 hours wait time… =___= we were seated within 2 hours. We ate WAYYY too much while waiting at V’s so we weren’t that hungry… but that did not stop us from ordering another meal. Ordered: x Edamame — served warm and lightly salted. Cooked/steamed perfectly, not too soft and not too hard. x Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño — Thicker cuts of fish than what I’m normally used to, but flavors were very good. Anything in ponzu is a winner for me! Worth the price tag. x Black Cod with Miso — Sooo soft and tender! Miso sauce was a little too thick for my liking, but was still super good! x Maine Lobster with Spicy Garlic — Probably the most flavorful item of the night, but my least favorite. Dish was WAYYY too salty. I’m glad I got to try this, but wouldn’t go out of my way to order it again. Felt more like something that would be offered at a Chinese restaurant. I like simple flavors. Everything about this dish was too bold. x Spicy Seafood Soup — winner winner! My favorite of the night. Generous amounts of seafood in the most savory broth EVER! Sad we only ordered one because my date inhaled the whole thing :( Service was excellent. Drinks were constantly refilled and we didn’t need to waive our server down for anything. Conclusion: Good food and great service, but not to die for. Definitely don’t mind coming back here from time to time, but better, fresher, more price friendly seafood can be found easily. BUT10⁄10 would come back to sit outside for the view.

Enjoyed our evening here for our anniversary dinner. Without a reservation we were promptly seated indoors at 8pm on a Friday night. The crunchy roll is hands down the best sushi cut roll we have ever eaten. It’s smooth and buttery tuna with a slight crunch on the outside and bold spice on the inside. Also ordered the Ribeye with truffle butter, hands down the best hot dish on their menu. They get overly crowded during peak hours inside. While I was walking to the restroom, a server rammed a tray into my arm which caused a plate to fall and break. Staff apologized so it wasn’t a big deal. Be careful!

Food is amazing– Venue is Bangin– Service was Great– BUT, if you are not a celebrity… you are a second class citizen in this establishment. We came for Valentine’s Day so needless to say it was a complete circus. There were SO many people, but its to be expected at Nubu Malibu on Valentines Day. Our reservation was at 6PM and we arrived 5:45. At 5:50 we were walked to the first table that they tried to give us. It was a terrible spot right in the doorway inside of the restaurant(you want to be outside on the patio…). Dustin was not having that and neither was I. When we made the reservation, Dustin specifically requested outside seating, and has done so without a problem for the past 3 years. This year, it was a problem. At first the manager said that all the tables were pre– assigned and that was the table for us. After a bit more conversation, he then offered us a booth table– still inside– and still not 6PM. We said we would gladly continue to wait for something to come up outside– BTW there were like 3 open tables outside– manager was persistent in telling us no… So Dustin continued to very nicely persist(seriously, he was being super nice to the guy because everyone else was being super un-nice to the guy)… as we were waiting, 2 very recognizable celebrities and their dates walked in and were immediately pulled to the front of a very long line of people waiting to be checked in, and seated right away– OUTSIDE. This all happened as Dustin was standing right at the check-in desk. When the manager came back in from nut-riding these celebrities, we were waiting there and he kind of had no choice but to give us the last remaining table outside. Outside of that, our experience was absolutely AMAZING. I feel like we literally ordered everything on the was truly an amazing dinning experience. If you want to our actual Date night, check out our vlog: Also, we are posting tons of pics as well, enjoy!

Being a huge fan of anything by Chef Nobu, I love going to his restaurants when I’m not in NYC, to see what different dishes he’s got in store for us Hypes: — Gotta go with the standard dishes — each was perfectly prepared and literally melted in my mouth. Start with the blackened miso cod, the rock shrimp tempura, the yellowtail jalepeno, and the — New things I haven’t had before specific to this location that are must haves are: Tiradito, shishito peppers, Chicken and waffles(with wasabi infused syrup. OMG), okra snack. This was a whole part of the menu that wasn’t a part of any other Nobu I have been to before. — THEVIEW — wow. Pure bliss. Imagine sitting right by the ocean, in a paradise of palm trees, and the most amazing food. — Definitely a people watching place if you’re into that sort of thing Gripes: — B to the izzay. This place is filled with people left and right. Get there and definitely plan to wait. — Valet is your only love for parking here — I personally thought the sliders were overhyped. Wouldn’t order that again(the only 1 thing I wouldn’t get again)

What really sets this place apart from the other Nobus is the ocean view. There’s nothing like hearing the crashing waves while enjoying great sushi and a lychee and elderflower martini(!!!). Enjoy the food, LOVE the ambiance of nature here. Unfortunately 1 star off from the crowd this place draws. Fake boobs, stares from rude strangers, and piercing valley girl conversations at socially unacceptable decibels are common themes here, only exaggerated by the small and sound-amplifying structure of the restaurant.

Went here for my 25th birthday dinner a few days ago. A nice establishment right on the beach. Made a reservation for 6:30, came in at 6:15ish. We wanted to sit outside, but would have had to forfeit our reservation. And I was too hungry to wait for six other groups ahead of us so we were sat immediately in a small table. Very uppity type of people eating here. Definitely felt under dressed but I didn’t care. Table next to us only drank Voss water or Fiji water exclusively. I heard celebs eat here too so maybe that’s why this place is popular. Atmosphere was nice though. Crowded, but still easy enough to converse in. Interior design was great. Hotesses had to shout«irashaimasei» every time they sat someone, and the sushi chefs behind us would all shout back. I worked in a sushi restaurant before so it’s cool, but I could imagine other people getting annoyed with how often it was being called out. Food was decent enough. Very pricey. I think you’re paying more for the service and views than food, honestly. The yellowtail sashimi was good. The two rolls we got were«meh.» Nothing that stood out about them. Forget which ones we ordered honestly. About the same at a normal sushi restaurant. The truffle butter ribeye was good though. I liked the creamy, rich flavor it had. I got it medium rare, so it was tender. Smaaalll portions. My cocktail was… meh. Would have rather had a beer or soju. Also had thr black cod. That was my favorite thing of the night. Very buttery and melted in your mouth. Valet was expensive, as to be expected. And I noticed the majority of the servers were male. Like 90% of them. Looked like the expeditors/food runners were female. Just a note, didn’t care. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. For us, they were thorough with explaining food, because we were first timers. On the flip side, they were… overly attentive? I guess. Constantly wiping our table down from water, asking us if we were doing ok. Did we want more of this, more of that??? When we declined the dessert menu, we still got it anyway. I noticed other reviewers automatically were given Fiji water(when it wasn’t asked for) and we weren’t; we were given normal water. Is that because my boyfriend I looked as though we couldn’t afford it? In the end, doesn’t matter to me. Water is water, for thr most part… but wouldn’t that be stereotyping us based off how young we appear to look? It appears, upon perusing other reviews that, it’s fairly common. Isn’t that discriminating? You know, cuz the young Asian couple doesn’t look like they’ve got the money? Sorry I’m not Drake or something. Lol my bad. Definitely a place you’d bring your in-laws to impress them or to propose or somethinf. Just be prepared to drop some money if you were to take a group or whatever. It was 170 without tip for the two of us. Two rolls, yellowtail sashimi, ribeye, black cod, small sake, and a cocktail. I think, overall, the experience would have been amazing if we were outside though. I give it four stars for the establishment itself and service but I would not come here for the food itself, as it was overpriced. Give me Korean bbq any day. 3 stars for the food, which is why I came. I just wasn’t that impressed, overall

For the money this place is not that great. The interior design and location are phenomenal. The service is good: it’s attentive and you get what you want but it’s a bit much, as every server asks you if you need anything else and it feels impersonal. The food was mediocre and certainly overpriced. It’s overpriced in a very cheap, gaudy way. Examples: when we asked for water we were brought Fiji water without asking($ 9 for one bottle of water). When I was asked if I wanted a refill on a soft drink I said yeah, and was charged double for the same drink. Portions are small, and I’ve had better fish other places. It feels really nasty and tacky to be at a nice place and getting cheap stunts like this. Overall I think there are better quality and value places around Malibu. I think V’s Restaurant down the street rocks Nobu in interior design, presentation and experience(I know it’s not sushi, but I’m just throwing out an example). Nobu’s popularity comes from hype and celebrates, if you are into that then this is the place for you. If you want a nice dining experience go elsewhere.

I’m always more critical of places that are«hyped up,» but Nobu did not disappoint. It is well worth it. I had an amazing dining experience here. Simply put, this place is nothing short of amazing. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Service [5 stars]: Our waiter was awesome. Great personality and attentive. He recommended some really good dishes like the Ribeye with Truffle Butter Sauce and Crispy Okra starter. Parking [3 stars]: Valet $ 10, but not everyone likes to have their nice cars driven by valet parkers. For this-it’s an inconvenience, but understandable because all restaurants in Malibu are valet only. Atmosphere [5 stars]: I’ve dined at several restaurants along the coastline, but nothing compares to the overall experience at Nobu. I love the details of this restaurant. Beautiful wood was used all throughout the restaurant and there are unobstructed panoramic views of the ocean from almost every table. I love the the openness of it all. This is the perfect restaurant to have a real dining experience. Great food, service, and spot to socialize. Food [5 stars]: price is only slightly more than what I would expect, so no sticker shock, but the overall dining experience and quality of cuts are justifiable. My boyfriend and I ordered quite a bit of food since it was our first time dining here, but everything we had was delicious. I’ve read several reviews stating that the speciality drinks lacked alcohol, but we ordered our drinks straight from the bar. We kept our orders to the traditional drinks and they were good. Some of the memorable dishes: Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño: one of their signature dishes and one of my favorites. Very thinly sliced yellowtail. Honestly, I was shocked when it came out because it was so small. But, the overall taste was zesty and fresh with a spicy aftertaste. They use a complimentary sauce on top. There’s no need for soy sauce when eating this dish. Black Cod Miso: another one of their signatures and absolutely mouthwatering. The fish was cooked to perfection. Flaky-textured meat with a warm honey-glazed miso sauce. Yum! Rib Eye with Truffle Butter Sauce: recommended by our waiter. Cooked medium rare and drenched in truffle oil. Surprisingly the rib eye itself didn’t have a truffle taste. However, the rib eye was topped with crispy onion rings, which did have a delicious truffle taste to them. Banana Miso Bar: is a must have. Thin wafer crisps make for clever separation between the two flavors. The raspberry drizzle makes for a sweet and tart compliment to the nutty flavors inside the bar. So good. We also had an array of sashimi, my favorites were their albacore and tuna cuts. The bluefin toro fell short with an ever so slight oceanic taste. I can’t wait to try brunch here!

Nobu is one of those restaurants that you have to try once to say that you’ve been there. Had dinner here with my husband for our anniversary and it’s been on our to do list for quite some time now. I came expecting to not be impressed since a lot of their dishes have been recreated at many other sushi restaurants,(yellowtail jalapeño, miso black cod, albacore & crispy onions, etc.) but to my surprise, some of the things I ordered was still unique. * Bluefin and Toro Tartar and caviar* average, skip. * Uni and Lobster tacos * order all of the tacos * Monkfish Liver Pâté * the sauce compliments well * Seared Kanpachi * order this * Tai Shiso w/Crispy Mushrooms * order this * King Crab w/Uni * below average. Not worth $ 55 * Ribeye w/truffle butter * this dish grew on me. The more I ate it the more I liked it. The sauce is good. The ribeye itself, we’ve had better. * Otoro Sushi * order 10 of these if you can. It was a great meal finisher. We were so happy the waiter saved this for last. So fatty with every chew! * Apple Crisp for dessert * pretty good The only thing I have to complain about is when we asked one of the waiters if we could move our table to the patio, we both heard him say he’ll go check with the hostess, only to ask him again and he said«No, I said you can go check with the hostess» if it was me, I would tell the dinner guests that I would check for them. I got up and walked over myself to check with the hostess anyways, but that comment made us feel some kind of way.

First off, I want to say that this restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The location & atmosphere deserves an A+. I will go back in the summer, just to be able to have dinner right next to the ocean! We came here for dinner last night to celebrate my mom’s birthday. We had a great round 4-top right next to the fireplace and it was just so comfortable and relaxing even though the restaurant was busy. Our server was great and explained the history of the restaurant and gave us some advice on how to order. My mom ordered the 8-course Omakase for $ 150 and the rest of us ordered one cold dish and one hot dish. It was plenty of food even though it doesn’t sound like it at first. I ordered the Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. The dish was absolutely beautiful but unfortunately, the spicy tuna wasn’t spicy at all… a bit disappointing. My Miso Black Cod was delicious… tender and very flavorful. The rest of the dishes we had were pretty good including the Yellowtail Sashimi with jalapeño was delicious. The only dish we were very disappointed with was the Chilean Seabass. It was extremely overcooked and very salty. It just seems like their raw items are prepared better than their cooked items. I had mentioned it was my mom’s birthday when we made the reservation and they brought out a little mochi ice cream with a candle with«Happy Birthday» written on the plate. It was a very nice gesture. :) Overall, it is a pretty pricey meal, however, you really are paying for the service and the atmosphere. If I had to choose, Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills has better food but you can’t beat the sound of the waves of the ocean during your meal at Nobu. Parking: $ 10 valet

My daughter and I made a reservation by phone. We rolled in about 15 minutes before noon and we were seated immediately. It was still working on breakfast. The server said that the lunch orders would be processed at noon. We had the New Sashimi, which was delicately balanced in the perfect blend of sauce. The short rib plate was amazing! My daughter loved this dish. The seafood ceviche was also delightful. We ended our meal with Bento Box dessert which came with soft and gooey chocolate lave cake and green tea ice cream. The view is breath-taking although we elected not to sit outside because it was cold. The service was impeccable.

When it comes to location and views, THIS is the Nobu to go to. Same menu and ambiance as other locations, but sitting outside at this location cannot be beat. We came here for early evening drinks which made it a bit easier to get a table. We had several different cocktails and they were all handcrafted to perfection. Very unique and tasty, well worth the splurge! Service is excellent, not pretentious at all, you feel very welcome. Prices are too high for everyday, but one must come here at least once to enjoy the beauty of Malibu!

I love nobu… Prefer Malibu location because the view is beautiful obviously. Service is great, valet staff is friendly and food is superb. I can devour the miso black cod. Probably multiple orders. The most I’ve ordered here were 3: X it was soooo good. It just melts in your mouth! The mini tacos are very small and pricey but it is still very tasty. Their Moscow mule was just delicious and very flavorful with the food that I had here. Yellowtail is so good, we ordered like 3 :) pretty much pig out every time I’m here. End up spending mad money but hey at least my belly is full! Their chocolate lava cake is so delicious and soooo sweet but perfect for you chocolate lovers. Bring your girl here on a date, I’m sure you won’t regret it. Make sure you go when the sun is setting so you can see that beautiful view.

Everything about the dining experience at Nobu Malibu is top-notch quality, and I mean from when you walk through the door to when you leave the restaurant. Two things are for certain: you’re going to be spending quite a bit of dough, but you will leave a happy customer! I came here a few times for birthday celebrations and special occasions, and every time I do, Nobu always brings something special to the table. The service is always on top of their game, and despite the number of people in the restaurant, it is amazing how on point they are! My wife and I wanted to try the Omakaze Chef’s Choice because it took the decision making right out of our hands and into the care of these wonderful chefs. This particular option comes with eight courses plus dessert. It usually is subject to change depending on the location and days, but I would highly suggest you order it if you’re feeling like something different. We couldn’t say enough about each course because it was honestly some of the best Japanese fusion we’ve ever tasted!

«Eating crab out in Malibu at Nobu» — we have all heard these lyrics by Drake! In YG’s collaboration song titled, Who do you love? «Nobu, Nobu, Nobu, Nobu, Nobu» as rapper Future says in continuation in one of his rap songs titled Jumpman. Yeah, this is the infamous Nobu folks. Summertime this place is packed!!! Waiting for a seat is 40minutes+ wait time. All the patio seats are always taken!!! Which is a bummer because the view and weather make the whole experience 10x better. We were fortunate enough to go on a day where not that many people were there. I requested a seat out on the patio and we got it! Drinks: they could use more alcohol, so far i tried 4 of their cocktails and haven’t found one that i went crazy for.(Posted pictures) Food: Top quality! Everything here tastes amazing. Its worth the price you pay.(Posted pictures) Service: Over the top! We had servers coming around every 5 minutes to check up on us. I know this gets annoying. But i guess some ppl love that lol. Every dish that was brought out was explained in detail(a bit too much) in my opinion, but thats part of the experience. Ambiance: The wooden accents coupled with the neutral tones of furniture definitely make this restaurant warm, romantic, and inviting. A definite must when in LA.

Get ready to spend some $$$$ like everyone says it’s expensive, you’re paying for the quality, views, service, etc. Everyone knows it’s a Japanese place of course, I didn’t know as our waiter explained it has a Peruvian twist as well. This location also has items on the menu that are exclusive to Malibu and you won’t find at the other locations. Anyways this is an awesome location, expect to even make reservations on a weekday for lunch if you want a prime spot outside as they get booked ! Ceviche«Nobu Style»(5 stars) — This was sooo fresh and amazing, our waiter explained the way they prepare this and although simple they make sure it’s fresh for every order. Ribeye Mini Tacos(5 stars) — Beware this is literally a bite, but one of the best bites I’ve had, this was amazing, the ribeye was so tender and the flavors and crisp of the taco were just heavenly! Black Cod with Miso(5 stars) — Just like everyone says, this is just so buttery and flakes apart. Best Cod with Miso I’ve had, I want this again, like right now ! Rock Shrimp Tempura with Creamy Spicy Sauce(2 stars) — This was ok, shrimp was cooked well, and batter wasn’t too heavy, my problem was the flavor, the sauce tasted like it was missing something and bland. I enjoyed the one at katsuya a lot more Everything should be top notch for what you’re paying here, they need to examine this dish again. Strawberry Sorbet(4 stars) — Needed something sweet to finish off lunch but didn’t want anything too heavy for my adventures after lunch, they gave the smallest scoop I’ve ever seen– just be warned. When you think about how people talk about how tiny their portions are, yes they are SUPER tiny. Nonetheless it was fresh and tasty. All in all, the views were gorgeous, it’s a great spot for a special occasion or even if you want to just spoil yourself and enjoy some tasty food. I’ll definitely be back!

GORGEOUS location. Absolutely breathtaking. You’re literally dining on the ocean. If you’re looking to take your significant other on a nice date, this is a great spot. PSA: Be prepared to drop significant $$$$. I would recommend calling in for a reservation ahead of time to make sure you get that table that’s overlooking the beach. You have to call the reservation number from 10 – 5 though. Otherwise, if you walk-in, you will be facing a significant wait time or just dine at the sushi bar which faces inwards. Valet is $ 10 and it’s literally a car show. Forget the LA Car Show, just come to Nobu. You’ll be treated to the likes of McLarens, Rolls Royces, Bentleys, etc… wow. For starters, we got monk fish liver with caviar($ 22), a sashimi salad($ 28) and some uni tacos($ 20). Great presentation on all the dishes. The monk fish liver tasted fantastic. I usually have it with a ponzu sauce but the sauce that accompanied it was nice and sweet which pairs nicely. The sashimi salad came with a decent amount of sliced tuna. There wasn’t too much dressing which was nice. Salad wasn’t soggy at all. Perfect amount of sauce. The uni tacos were to die for. It came packed with uni and you can tell it was FRESH. The small shell was nice and crispy which added a nice crunch. We got an assortment of sushi. From a spicy tuna roll to uni to salmon to unagi, we got it all. My personal favorites were the uni and salmon. They literally melt in your mouth because of how fresh the fish are. Top notch sushi for sure. I’m at a loss for words because I just want to go back and eat more! The reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is the price. Yes, the location is beautiful. Yes, the food is amazing. But the price is insane!!! I know the property doesn’t pay for itself but the food is wayyy pricey. It’s good to come here once in a blue moon or for a special occasion but I couldn’t imagine coming here regularly like the celebrity clientele do.(It was cool to sit next to Jamie Foxx for dinner). I am glad I came here though.

Valet parking is your only option Location: Nobu is huge! Once you check inside they will guide you to your seating preference depending on a couple things. One, if you have a reservations. The two times I came we did not have reservations and sat at the bar for about an hour the first time and were seated outside right away the second time. The host are very friendly and will do their best to sit you as quickly as possible if you don’t have reservations. Both times I came we sat on the same spot outside looking out to the ocean, its beautiful and breath taking. Service: I wish I would have gotten his name is very friendly and helpful in suggesting dishes since it was our first time. Drinks came promptly and he was very attentive to us. On the second time it was very cold and late at night and he offered me a blanket which really came in handy because I was freezing. I really enjoyed coming here, hope this helps!
