J Crew hardly needs an intro let alone a review but the Malibu store is curated and special and for some reason it’s just a really pleasant shopping experience. I prefer this location to the larger stores and I never come out empty handed.

As the other reviews have mentioned — this Jcrew branch specializes in the more difficult to find collection, collaboration pieces that you don’t always see in many of the other stores. Especially in their jewelry selection — I always find something I adore.
A little difficult to get to in the Malibu Country Mart from the Westside, but that’s probably why their selection and shopping experience is always so awesome.

This J Crew doesn’t sell anything for men.
J Crew in the Lumberyard is an aesthetically pleasing, well-​designed locale. The staff is excellent and will go out of there way to assist.
Excellent selection of higher end merchandise for women and children.

The reason why I love this J. Crew location so much is because:
1. The décor is amazing. Not your typical looking J.Crew. They have this upscale Hamptons-​like beach motif going on.
2. You know when you go to your local J. Crew, and all the cute sale items are either all sold out or you can’t find your size? Well this J. Crew location has it.
3. They actually had the J. Crew x Prabal Gurung items in store!
4. It’s very organized and well put together.
I would say that the service is pretty good. They didn’t seem to mind when I asked to see this piece of jewelry, and can you check the price on this item, and can you get me this size and do you have this in any other color… and walking with nothing in hand. How annoying was I, but they were still pretty friendly and helpful.

I loved this location.
It is one of the more rare J Crew collection stores. They tend to carry the select, unusual and hard to find pieces of J Crew, thus J. Crew collectible.
When I was there last September they carried the trunk luggage which you almost never see! They carry crewcuts as well and were having a soirée with CRUMBS mini cupcakes.
I found the greatest boots just last year here… again more unusual to see in their stores. The boots are now one of my favorite items of J Crew that I own.

This J. Crew is located in the new Lumberyard center of the Malibu Country Yard. It bill’s itself as «J.Crew at The Beach».
It carries women’s clothing and the «CrewCuts» kids section. Basically, the same stuff you can get at any J. Crew. Good selection and pretty fitting rooms. The sales help was a little to eager to sell and not so sincere. Of course, I’d be back!
