Cure Salon & Spa Malibu

So this qualifies as a good review that didn’t start out so good… and were it not for the incredible Kristy (at the front desk), things may have ended much differently.
On Friday, April 22, I booked a blow-​out appointment online (slightly after hours) for the next day (Sat April 23). It was an important appt because I had an event in Hollywood to attend on Sunday ⁴⁄₂₄. But upon arrival, Kristy soon realized that the hair stylist had forgotten to check the «Booker» system, so she did not know about my appointment, and could not be reached by phone. Plus there were no other hair stylists booked to come in that day… so I would have been SOL. However, Kristy jumped into action and got me an appointment for the next day at The Cure at the Sunset Tower Hotel (in Hollywood — less than a mile from where I was to be staying in Hollywood). She also made sure I would not be charged for the appointment AND gave me detailed instructions for how to find convenient free parking behind the hotel.
Plus…while I was there… I booked a massage appointment for that same day. It’s a simply gorgeous spa, so it seemed a shame to leave without enjoying its amenities. Kristy immediately called the Massage Therapist (Rita) and she agreed to be to the salon within the hour. So… while I was waiting, Kristy ordered me lunch from her favorite local restaurant (D’amores — yum) and gave me lotso champagne while I waited.
So, I had a great lunch, some delicious champagne, and a wonderful massage in Malibu… followed by a free blowout the next day in Hollywood.
I hope The Cure realizes the gem they have in Kristy, and that they realize how it is only because of her that 1 star became 5 stars.

Claire Farne RN is my fabulous aesthetician at Cure Malibu. She brightens my skin with IPL treatments and reduces my lines with Dermaneedle. So sweet and helpful with a wonderfully aggressive attitude towards anti-​aging treatments.

I went there today for the first time. The view is spectacular from the rooms and the patio. I had an appointment with Claire Farne. She did Juvederm and IPL on me.
She did an amazing job. My face looks ten times better than before and I definitely look younger.

Best kept secret in Malibu. Fantastic view. I’ve had massages, scrubs, and essential oil rubdowns here. April is excellent therapist. Love the Osea oil on my skin. The facility is spotless. All white. Have a nice hot tea and relax on the outdoor deck overlooking the ocean. Nice product amenities, oversized robes and towels. Especially enjoy having the shower in the steam room. Went 2 separate days last week and left feeling great. Highly recommended!

I am blown away by Claire Farne. I couldn’t have asked to find a better person to trust my face with! This was my first time getting fillers/​Botox and I was so nervous.
Claire was so helpful in answering all my questions and actually listening to what I wanted. She is extremely experienced, passionate, well educated in her craft and confident about her abilities.
I honestly can’t recommend her enough.

The best experience ever! I am so fortunate to find out Clair is part of the Staff with Cure.
I have experienced excellent result with Clair previously. I trust her work so much that I had a laser hair removal procedure on my daughter.

Beautiful spa! You must go see Claire RN, she did a wonderful job on my IPL. My freckles and sunspots are gone and skin is much more even. I highly recommend her!

My husband recommend I tried this place for a custom facial. I have a problematic skin and I am always reluctant on trusting anyone with it’s care.
I got an appointment with Sharin and ever since she is the only person I would get a facial with. She is truly gifted and highly prepared. She makes it work the price and the drive. I highly recommend her to anyone.
Also a note of appreciation for Ahley, the receptionist, which always makes me feel warmly welcomed.

I’ve been CURED! I went to CURE spa because I had a gift card and wanted to check out a spa near the ocean. I was really impressed with the beautiful oceanic views on their patio and the service I received. Ashley was so kind and helpful and she assisted me in choosing the massage that was right for me and my needs. Chris performed the massage and it was wonderful! My requests were valued and I accomplished what I had come in for (back pain relief). I would definitely come back.

I had a wonderful massage with Rita, it was my first time there. They are on the ocean in Malibu and the view is outstanding while I relaxed before & after your treatment on their beautiful patio. What a gem I found!

I had a nice massage at the Malibu Beach Inn location. It was a lot different than what I expected since it was just a room not a regular spa. Problem is when it came time to pay I had a gift card that they would not accept. They said they could have taken it at the other Cure location in Malibu but not at the Inn. There was no real check in process so I couldn’t ask beforehand but I did tell my therapist before we started. I wish I would have known beforehand so I could have just booked at the other location.

The location is beautiful but way over priced. The massage is mediocre and their steam bath is pretty much a small shower. The only reason why I give it 4 stars is that we were the only ones there that day and they left the entire Balcony (with views of the water) and facility for my boyfriend and me! The complimentary champagne and treats were also nice. And having Nobu across the street was also an added bonus!

So, I normally don’t post reviews but this was such a great experience I had to share!
My hubby sprung for a quick getaway at the Malibu Beach Inn, which was lovely… ocean view from the room, nice restaurant, great service… but the best part, seriously, was the massage from Cure Spa. I’m always hunting for great massages because my job is very physically taxing, but this massage was hands down the best I’ve ever had. No joke!
First of all, the massage room also faces the ocean. So, worth every penny already.
But the masseuse, Rebecca, was AMAZING. Like, over the top ridiculous. Right from the beginning, she made me feel completely comfortable and the second she started, I knew I was in good hands. I always ask for deep tissue, which normally ends up being more like a swedish, but she rocked it! Not only did she get every knot I had out, but by the time she was done, I was a complete noodle. I think I said «thank you»… but I was so relaxed I’m not sure how coherent I was.
If I could afford it, I’d drive out to Malibu to go to her every week. But at least my husband now knows what to get me for the next special occasion!

I’m between a 3 and a 4 star here, but I bumped it up because Erin, the esthetician that did my eyebrow wax was so upbeat and friendly.
I came here with a gift card, which was given to me a while back. I never really visit many spas, but I have an event coming up and wanted to get a brow wax. When I was up front to pay, the gift card was declined because the receptionist mentioned something about how they don’t have the machine that can process the gift card, but they did at the other location. I would have to either go to their other location or warn them ahead of time if I’m planning on using it (which makes almost no sense to me). I was pretty disappointed and feel like this is something they should tell their guests on the phone when they’re booking their appointment, not after all the services are performed. Now I had to pay out of pocket and am stuck with this gift card that I apparently won’t be able to use unless I go to a specific location. In my opinion, if you don’t want to accept gift cards, don’t sell them in the first place. It seems a bit scammy to sell them and not accept it at certain locations.
Other than that, my experience with Erin was fantastic. She is a bright and lovely individual and she did an amazing job with my brow wax. It was PERFECT. She was such a pleasure to talk to! I would definitely come back to her for my next visit.
Brow wax (I just got cleanup) was $ 35 plus tip, which is on the higher end for a brow wax, but she uses a hard wax which didn’t hurt at all, and their facilities are beautiful and clean.
Overall, kind of bummed about them not accepting their own gift cards, but I would come back for Erin’s work!

What an amazing afternoon yesterday. Situated conveniently across the street from Nobu Malibu up on the hill, I arrived to meet a friendly receptionist who took me in to a very clean dressing area. I had called ahead to have the steam shower ready and then was taken back to the treatment room facing the ocean. April was my masseuse and what a joyful, knowledgeable lady. To my surprise they offer ACE Cupping. I have some sore areas that she immediately started working on and unlike other cupping treatments this was unbelievable. I will return and get more treatments from her. Amazing.

I really enjoyed my first visit to this salon. I also had my first facial cupping done by April. Very happy and satisfied with the results– my face is less puffy and looks much healthier! Will most definitely return for the same at this great salon. April did a great job

While the setting is lovely, I don’t plan to return.
The manager/​receptionist, Jolene, is very pleasant and adds to the nice atmosphere.
My massage [with Deborah], however, was very mediocre and should have absolutely been better. Also, she began to look at her IPhone the second the massage had finished as I was getting up from the massage table. Very dissatisfying and unprofessional. Planning to get my rare and coveted massages elsewhere.

This place gets a 5 star for the massage even though the facility itself although lovely is not 5 star.
I purchased a Travelzoo special for an 80 minute massage plus a 10 – 15 minute body scrub for the Bevery Hills location. The girl on the phone Mich, asked me if I would like to switch to their Malibu location. I decided to give it a try since I love Malibu and it’s a nice drive through the canyon for me.
I was here on my birthday recently and it was a wonderful way to start off my birthday. I did think the location in an office building was a little unusual but once you go in, it’s lovely and the huge patio with couches and an ocean view really makes this place special. Everyone was really nice and made me feel comfortable.
My massuese Deborah was really outstanding. I have had massages at many spectacular spas around the world and I have been a member at Burke Williams. I think I can honestly say this was one of the best massages I have ever had if not the best. I thought the room was a little bright at first but I got used to it. After the massage, the girls encouraged me to relax on the patio and served me a glass of wine. They also had tea, fruit and granola bars.
This spa does not have facilites in the way that Burke Williams or a fancy resort do. Although the shower and changing rooms are quite comfortable I was glad that I brought my own shampoo and conditioner.
All in all I really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely return.

My friend and I both had a travel zoo deal for 2 60 minute swedish massages and complimentary champagne. We got there about 2 hours before the massages because we thought we would use the facilities. A lot of spas have jacuzzis and steam rooms and pools. Well this place is VERY SMALL. They have a little powder room, a bath room, a tiny steam room for like 2 people, a waiting room and a big balcony with couches and lounge chairs. It is very pretty inside, mostly white, very modern and clean. The lady at the desk was pretty rude and needless to say we never got the champagne that was promised on the voucher. The massages were heavenly though. So can’t knock that. Don’t think I would ever go back since Malibu is kind of out of the way.
