I want to help support mom and pop shops in Maui, help keep the local businesses alive…
But sometimes it gets hard, when you go into a hardware shop to pick up some concrete screws and the price is DOUBLE the amount of the big box shops in town.
Probably not true of all items, but for the couple of things I have needed and didn’t want to go into town, the price tags always shock me.
Either you pay in gas to go to town or in the up charge. Which one is worse? You decide.

Pukalani Ace Hardware, conveniently located Upcountry, offeres competitive prices to larger Downtown hardware stores and you get the added benefit of a very friendly, helpful staff. They carry an array of hardware, household and garden supplies that will not disappoint. This place is also my secret spot to find really awesome, great quality (including BPA free) food storage containers. Sounds funny, I know, but all of my most favorite and convenient «tupperware» have come from Pukalani Ace. Something is always of sale and I always walk out of this store feeling like I got a good deal. So no need to go to town, just hit up Pukalani Ace!
