Holiday & Co Maui

Wandered in here today and found a couple incredible items. The woman working was super friendly and helpful. I love shopping in this little town and have been to this store many times. Their buyer is typically spot-​on.

High quality and wonderful help. I was able to find everything I needed to wear to a wedding and was very happy with what I purchased.

Visiting my Kama’aina family here on Maui, I stumbled across this divine shop in Makawao which is as chic as anything you would find on the Mainland in Los Angeles — where I currently live. Holiday & Co. carries great, unique lines and very special, timeless product. It reminds me of a petite Anthropologie, or a cozier Erica Tanov. It’s a lovely place to find breezy (but not cheesy) island-​appropriate attire — a welcome respite from the Hawaiian-​print or rhinestone-​embellished junk you find all over the island. To the person who claims it’s overpriced: really, you get what you pay for, and nothing here is out of line with what you could find in any other chic shop in any other city. Definitely worth a visit — and Makawao itself is a darling little strip of a town to poke around in. Well done, Holiday and Co!

The two words I think best describe the merchandise in this store are «Timeless Classics». As a young mother on a tight budget, I have been shopping at Holiday and Company for over 10 years, and some of the items I bought 10 years ago are still my favorite pieces in my closet. The products sold here stand the test of time.
The store has some some books and gifts, but mostly gorgeous, classic, high-​quality clothes from designers like Margaret O’Leary, Johnny Was, Velvet, Paige Denim, Minden Chan, Graham and Spencer, Prairie Underground, etc. Also lingerie from Casabella and fantastic leather bags, belts, sandals, shoes and boots from brands like Gentle Soles, Matisse and Repetto. There are always beautiful hats from Helen Kaminski, too.
The store always seems to have an excellent sale rack, unique jewelry, and the best selection of cashmere on island (it gets into the 50s upcountry Maui at night…) I would rather buy one gorgeous dress that I can wear for 20 years, with compliments every time, than something that will fall apart in a year or two or be out of date after a season.
Prices range from $ 28 for an organic cotton t-​shirt, to $ 550 for the most gorgeous leather bag I have ever seen (from a company called 49 Square Miles) The prices for these brands are the same at Holiday and Co as you would see on the mainland, and sometimes a little lower.

Stupidly over-​priced. Yes, I know Maui prices. But, for example, over $ 100 for a small canvas purse. $ 120 for a small light cotton scarf from India. No joking.
The prices are simply insulting. If I am going to spend that kind of money in fashion, it will be elsewhere.
Go elsewhere.
