Buyer beware. I had the same experience as the previous reviewer. Securenet locked us in with a 5 year contract 10 years ago when we first subscribed to their services. We moved 4 years into the 5 year contract and were told that we would owe the company for the 5th year of the contract if we did not move their services to our next house. We made the move and were obligated to sign another 5 year contract. What we were not told was the in the fine print the contract has an AUTO-RENEW provision which renews annually for additional 1 year terms. We are now ready to move again and our contract auto-renewed last month for another full year, so Securenet wants almost $ 300 to cancel our service if we don’t move it to our next house and sign up for another 5 year contract. They are just enforcing the contract(fine print) that we signed, but it is amazing that after 10 years of using their services they are strictly enforcing the auto-renewal agreement that we signed 6 years ago. It’s a bad business practice since we will now be switching to another company that auto-renews MONTHLY instead of YEARLY. My advice would be to avoid Securenet all together, or read the fine print very closely if you choose to use their services.

I have been using Securenet for a little over a year now and have had great customer service. I have had two alarms set off,(both accidental) and they responded very promptly and provided good customer service when I have had questions. Lots of options and one of the better prices in the area for home alarms.

This is a poor company, run by questionable people. I signed up for a 3 year plan in 2006 for a rental property, which expired in March 2009. Apparently, the service renews annually in March, even though they don’t send a letter confirming that, and they then send me a bill in April(I am apparently supposed to read the fine print in a contract for a service I don’t even use). I called just today(4⁄21) as I got the bill a few days ago, and they said I can only cancel after paying for the full year in advance, even though I don’t use the service. I escalated, and they basically hid behind their contract and said ‘too bad’. Renewing ahead of business is a horrible business practice(particularly if you don’t send a renewal notice), and I would recommend that no one goes near these guys.
