Why has this place not been shut down? Several complaints have been made. An article has been written in the hickory post. They are on pETA’s watch list. I visited a few years ago. The animals are in poor conditions. Not enough space. The giraffe didn’t have adequate protection. The baboon was in a tiny isolated cage. It was so depressing. Please do not support this place. These animals need to be rehomed. They just need to stick to basic farm animals if they have to remain open.

Animals well kept, lots of room and of course the monkeys were awesome. Fun place! Recommend to anyone with children in the area or something different to do.

I’d never heard of this place until my mother-in-law mentioned taking our 3-year old son there(and I grew up in newton!). This place is GREAT! The admission price is very fair, and there is so much to see and do here! My son had a blast because he was able to interact in some way with almost all of the animals — something you don’t really get at the NC Zoo. I’m oftentimes a little hesitant to support places such as this because I worry about the living conditions for the animals — let me tell you, these animals are in great shape and are well taken care of — you can tell that the owners/facility managers have a true love for animals, dedication to educating the public and commitment to caring for these animals. Go — you won’t be disappointed!!! PS — be sure to wear sunscreen — some areas are very open and can get hot quickly however there are also great shaded areas to stop for breaks :)
