I stopped in late with my best friend mainly because they were open and on the way home. Plus, we were in the mood for some good burgers. In other words: no expectations, just looking for food. First impression isn’t great. A large bar in the back was filled with smokers(though it didn’t float up into the dining area as much as I thought it would), and everything seems a bit shabby even though nothing is actually broken or torn. Very few patrons except for the bar. Plenty of TV’s though! You’ll have no trouble watching whatever sporting event is going on. Service was only OK. Kind of slow, got ignored for the bar at times since there’s only one server plus the bartender, but not terrible. There was a manager on duty who was obviously concerned with getting everything right and making sure the food came out perfect, and his attention definitely showed, because we found a surprisingly good burger! The meat was well seasoned, with a nice crunchy exterior from the griddle, just like I like it. The jalapeño cheese bun was flavorful and slightly sweet. The lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickle are served on the side, all nice and fresh. The best thing of all, though, was that the fries are actually homemade. They’re not crispy, but they are made from nice, thick cuts of Russett potato and full of flavor. There was something more than just salt on there, but I couldn’t put my finger on what. Maybe it was just seasoned salt like at Red Robin. Nonetheless, I could have eaten nothing but fries and been happy. In short, Texas Tavern is a surprisingly good place for a laid-back evening when you don’t mind the service being a little slow. Great food and good prices.

Went back early evening. Food was excellent, but service was completely non existent. Had to walk up to get menus, order, order each round of drinks, drop off menus, ask for condiments etc. if the service would improve this place would be perfect!

Not a lot of choices, nothing really unique about the food. They do have some fun stuff going on line music and karaōke. A little too pricey for me. And the owner fires people right and left hard to get used to staff

This is walking distance from our house. We have had dinner here a few times. The food has been good. One time the chicken fried steak tasted like it was time to change the oil. Our last to go order had one issue. My catfish dinner was wonderful. The blue cheese burger had gristle and the blue cheese was piled on a little to strong. People are friendly and service was good.

LOVELOVELOVE this place! Our first trip was a hit. We met some friends in the bar area and had a great time. They have a full service restaurant, and a full service bar in the back. A pool room, which we did not visit, is next door. The food was way better than I expected — we stayed for about 3 hours and in that time we had an appetizer sampler and sliders. The burgers there are scrumptious. They bake their own buns(think King Hawaiian rolls), and offer different cheeses for your cheeseburgers. Our bartender was not as attentive as we would have liked — as she worked and cleaned the bar area, she never looked up which prevented anyone from catching her eyes and asking for another drink. This wasn’t enough to drive us away or prevent us from coming back, that’s for sure, but I would suggest a little more training in customer skills :-) Casual, fun, friendly place to go hang out and watch a game on their HUGE screens, listen to tunes on the jukebox and they even live music and karaōke. I can’t wait to go back.

Had a great experience my first trip. We are here on our second. I have to say the fried mushrooms were way better after a lot of liqour lol. This time sober they are about a 6 outta ten. The hangover burger is amazing. I love the atmosphere. The design of place is really cool and unique. I would recommend anyone try it.

I very rarely write a review on anything. Texas Tavern was well beyond my expectations! I drove an hour and a half to see a friend of mine and found myself saying, «why is this bar so far away???» the food was amazing. I had a Texas burger and my friend had the all you can eat catfish. He said it was one of the best he had ever eaten, especially since it didn’t have the normal cornmeal batter. we got the naan and cilantro dip app, which I ordered a full side of the cilantro dip as a dip for our fries and fish, and it was such a pleasant surprise to see that on the menu there. It would be nicer if the menu was online but I will be going back there anytime that I go to visit my friend! I may even visit my friend just so we can go there!!! Also, they stayed open late for the late MNF game, even better, GOTEXANS!!!

We have seen this place under construction and really liked what we saw as it was taking shape. With some friends that were visiting from Belgium we decided to give it a try. This place is really nice, the food is good. No fancy long menu, but a short balanced menu with just enough choices. Their burgers are tasty, the chicken tenders are delicious. We ate there 3 different nights on the same week ! Always sat at a different table as these are really funny(you need to go there to understand) Jessica even remembered our names when we came again. Irina the owner is a very sweet lady, likes to speak with every customers to make sure everything is fine. We will make sure to enjoy it before it gets too popular and there’ll be long waiting lines to get in :-) If you drive by on 249, don’t hesitate, it’s really worth the stop !

When you drive in the parking lot you already know it’s a little bit country and it’s going to be a good time. The dining room is in the front of the building, with a huge projection screen TV. There is a nice big stage area for live music, and couch areas for comfy seating on either side in addition to the tables and booths that line the room. There are large pictures /murals on the wall in the dining /stage area, which you later see are panels that can be rotated– they rotate up to reveal the back room which is a nice bar area. The lights on the wall in the bar become over head lights when the wall is opened. Great concept! The bar area is nice sized with a few tables in addition to the bar seating. They serve a good variety of snacks, salads, burgers, and full dinners. The mini burgers are full of flavor. They are made to order with your choice of cheese and all the fixings and served with fluffy fries. The ribs are tender and tasty-expect these to be a big seller. There is a full bar, with several cold beers on tap. This is going to be a go to hot spot!
