The icecream is home made. Bit the rest of the food is mostly frozen and pretty much tasteless. Not too bad for a local diner. Dont expect anything out of this world, but still worth a stop if you’re a true icecream fan.

It’s solid ice cream. Its texture, temperature, and flavors aren’t distinct from other tasty ice creams that I’ve had; it’s typical, milk and cream based ice cream. But when you’re in the middle of nowhere and your options are very limited, this is likely the best around. Located inside an old house from the 1800s just steps from Magnolia’s center of ‘town’, Taggert’s doubles a small diner and ice cream place. The ice cream is homemade, not on-site, but at their other store in Canton. There were about a dozen flavors on the menu, the standards(strawberry, mint chocolate chip, butter pecan, etc). There’s table seating in case you’d like a meal(didn’t look at the menu) but we sat at the counter. The traditional sundae-like clear glasses that our ice cream was served into were chilled which is a nice unexpected gesture. Also, it’s dirt cheap, 2 scoops and then a single scoop was less than $ 5. It wasn’t particularly noteworthy ice cream but it was not by no means horrible and in the middle of nowhere, it’s likely your best bet for a meal and ice cream within 20 – 30 miles.

This is just as good as the original! Great food friendly staff and terrific ice cream. All for not a whole lot of $$.
