I don’t normally stay in external entry hotels but this one was really nice. I stayed in the king suite and it was really nice. Newly reminded! The best part is the owners. They are really friendly and helped me find a restaurant. I will definitely come back.

I recently stayed at this quality inn only because the Holiday Inn express was booked up for this time. The room I was in was decent, but after the 2nd night, my door broke and I had to be moved down the hall. I received a late check out fee because I was a few minutes late to the desk. The breakfast was sub-par, and fortunately a Hampton just opened, so when the holiday inn is booked, I will be staying there.

Avoid! This hotel smelled bad, terrible lumpy beds, unsafe(door would not lock), loud loud refrigerator, loud heater with confusing heater controls(couldnt adjust heat on their old styled heaters — you freeze or roast — nothing in between). And they didn’t even have staff to clean the room when we stayed. We were afraid of potential bed bugs here given the smells and putting clothing or luggage on the floor was a no go. If you must stay there I suggest the same precaution. A true 1 star shack. Sad and pathetic! They even asked us to pickup our own linen on Christmas day so we could change our bed which was the worse. After dicovering we had left our personal belongings and valuables in a room that would not lock we complained about the lumpy uncomfortable bed and demanded we be moved. They did but the shower rack in that room would not prevent water from covering the floor during showers. This caused me to slip and cut myself. Naturally I reached for the towel to stop the bleeding. A lawsuit Is what most would consider but I wanted to move on. However the next day they were trying to charge us $ 32 for a $ 110 year old towel which I used to dry with. Keep in mind their towels were those old white hard-to-the-touch towels you find at the worst hourly priced hotels. Clearly their towels had been used at Quality Inn Magnolia hotel since it was built in the 50s. Quality Inn was charging us nearly $ 90 per night. $ 60 over the real value for the level of service and amenities offered for a 1 star hole… ugh hotel. We complained about their uncomfortable mini pillows and the warped mattress on the bed. I asked Janice the front desk person if the owner had ever slept on the board they called a king bed and she was neutered in her ability to understand what customer service was and she was simply happy to have a job ripping off travelers for a boss she seemed afraid of. In the end we demanded a refund from Quality Inn Magnolia and manager Ken Patel and we then move up the street to the Holiday Inn Express where we were greeted by a professional staff that offered us a king sized bed and amenities that cant be compared to Quality Inn and for only $ 12 more than what we were paying. The quality we found at Holiday Inn was night and two days above that of Quality Inn Magnolia. Holiday Inn seemed to understand basic needs of a travelers. Quality Onn Magnolia is a relic of a bad time past. We will never stay at Quality Inn Magnolia again. Other hotels have moved to Magnolia recently and now there is no reason for anyone to stay at the inferior Quality Inn Magnolia. Avoid like the plague. We learned the hard way. Hopefully you won’t have to.
