I enjoy Jaki not only as a person but as a business owner! Her food is always tasty, hot and fresh. We often order to go, the atmosphere could use a little love, but I’m a homebody anyway! I always enjoy her homemade soups and generous portions. Price point is pretty dead on especially for Magalia.

It took over an hour to get our food. There where 4 other families that came much later than us and they where paying by the time we got our food. I ordered the eggplant sandwich which was disgusting and came without any onions or radish sprouts, that’s half of the ingredients! The rest of our group also got nasty food, the french fries where not cooked and the burgers looked like they where microwaved 3 times, the buns where completely wet. Our experience was so bad that they only charged us 50% of our bill.

Love love love this place! The staff is always friendly and welcoming and their banana milkshakes are to die for!!! Everything I have ever tried there has been amazing! They also sell ground coffee and local honey sometimes which is a yummy treat! I would eat here every night if I could!

Very good place for a large group for a late breakfast. Very good eggs and bacon. Everyone seemed to enjoy there food. Very good coffee, although I had to ask for the half and half. Very clean. Homey atmosphere. Parking looks like it could be a problem when they get busy.

We came here before atv trip because the depot was closed for some reason which is our usual breakfast spot.
It might not be as good But it’s damn close. The interior feels a little more comfortable but the food I would have to rate one star less then the depot. I had Popeye omelette with hashbrowns (spinach mushrooms bacon Swiss cheese) it was pretty good. I ate every bite. Freind had hot chocolate which served in mason jar with whipped cream. Said it was best she ever had. I will definitely come back at some point And behind the Depot, it is the second best place to eat breakfast in magalia/​paradise. The dinner lunch menu looked very appetizing as well so I will have to check that out at later date.

I absolutely love Jaki’s Hilltop Café! My fiancé, daughter, father and I eat here regularly. We love the food, the atmosphere and especially the service. My daughter always points out that Jaki is serving right along with the wait staff and always checking in with customers!
I love the Paris Eggs and Potatoes. It’s like eggs Benedict, but with steamed spinach, sliced tomatoes and bacon rather than ham. The hollandaise sauce is great as well, which I am usually very particular about. I order this dish almost every time we go, day or night :)
The Denver omelette, the Cobb salad and the Avocado burger are some other family favorites.

Best breakfast we’ve had in the area!
Going from another post’s suggestion, we tried the Balboa (stuffed french toast) which was incredibly sweet but not cloyingly so. We also had the Paris Benedict which was the hidden gem for sure. Really good sized portions at a decent price.
Most patrons were clearly retired, reading the paper, playing cards. just enjoying living in the hills. We will be back!

My husband and I are vegetarians, so we were so excited to find a local restaurant with a great vegetarian menu. We had dinner here last night for the first time and it was really good. We had great service and chatted with the owner, who was really sweet. We both had breakfast burritos and they were big and filling and really tasty. We also got a mini cheesecake to take home for dessert later and it was amazing! We will definitely be back.

Wowza!!! This place had upgraded!!! Use to be a so-​so place to get a burger… I got a burger tonight that was supremely juicy, perfectly cooked, mushrooms were fantastic! Well done!!! No more, well it’s ok for Magalia… great place for a great burger!!! A+

Kinda afraid to go back here. Shortly after moving to Magalia last summer, had a couple of Teriyaki burgers here. They were so tasteless my wife and I both agreed they tasted like bland hospital food. I know this place is popular, as I see the parking lot crammed often. Clientele appears to be mostly elderly folks which may explain the blandness of the food. But then, we are elderly too. Except we don’t like bland. In fairness, will have to try Jaki’s again and try something else before writing them off altogether.

We just moved to Magalia when I spotted Sophie’s tucked in off the main road, Skyway. Last Thursday I stopped. First thing I noticed was the wonderful aroma. Then it is super clean. Younger man was helpful and kind while I decided what to order. Had first soup on menu and spring rolls. He added a huge serving of brown rice. I took it home. My husband and I devoured it and my husband has never cared much for Thai. Now I am anxious to go back and explore the rest of the never ending menu. Ingredients were all ultra fresh.

Service is great, and the owner, Jackie is SO SWEET. She makes everyone feel right at home. Although, the food is okay. Not the best and it is kind of spendy for the food quality. But overall, this place is worth going to just due to the great service.

As other reviewers have commented, you need to get the Balboa French toast. Everything we tried here is good, but you need the Balboa.
