It’s a good sign when English is the second language at a restaurant, and this Mexican place didn’t disappoint. We had the soft ‘street’ tacos, and they were just like in Mexico. The chorizo were the best, but all the meats were lean, and the ingredients were fresh. It’s bad news for this lovely restaurant, however, as the road construction makes it hard to find, and business is significantly down for the owner. If you like authentic Mexican food, please support this local place!

There were some really good inexpensive Mexican and Salvadorian restaurants in Madras, but alas, they have gone out of business. Now we eat here, and it is not at all a step down — everything we’ve eaten here has been excellent. Good menudo on weekends — lots of honeycomb tripe, none of that weird fatty connective tissue that too many chintzy mexican restaurants are using for menudo lately. Two meat(your choice) tostadas for $ 8.50 — tasty with lots of meat hiding under the lettuce. Some of the food is out in steam-table trays where you can see it — on weekends they also have birria(goat soup). I have a wheat allergy and can eat here — they don’t slip flour into things that don’t need to have it. It’s been a bit hard to get into lately ’cause of the highway construction but that should be done before the end of 2015. We’ve eaten there several times this summer and are never dissatisfied.

Stopped in for a late morning snack. Ordered the two bean tostadas… and I am impressed. Lots of lettuce topped with avocado with beans on a crispy tortilla. Everything fresh and served with a good attitude.

Was really looking forward to a good mexican meal. Very disappointed. Had a burrito, very dry, shy on fillings and they fried it. Prices cheap and service was fast. Waitress did not even understand English. Requested no jalapeños on our nachos and they were covered with them.

This place I terrible. We road tripped through here today looking for a decent burrito place to get a bite; after reading the reviews on Unilocal for this location we had BIG expectations. They did NOT deliver at all. We ordered two Mexican burritos, expecting carne asada and pico de gallo and avocado as per the menu description. What we received where to tortillas filled with iceberg lettuce and one or two tiny chunks of who knows what kind of meat. They had decent water that is the only reason we are giving a one star. There are two seemingly nice old lady’s that work there. However after seeing all the pictures of others food on here we feel maybe we had been messed with for some reason. DONTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEY!

Authentic Mexican at a good price. Tortillas are fresh and food tasted great. Only marked down for old décor and bad signage.

Very authentic homemade Mexican food. Prices are way more than reasonable. We challenge you to find any better Mexican food in Central Oregon. Carnitas burrito in a homemade flour tortilla was to die for. My wife had the carnitas street type tacos. Also outstanding. Pineapple raisin Christmas tamales were a treat from the owners. Love this place. Will definitely be back soon.

Don’t let the exterior fool you, this place is amazing! The refried beans are vegetarian(no lard) and everything is so fresh. You can tell it is handmade with love. I would definitely come back here. The owners are super sweet and I love that it’s family owned. Highly recommend this place!

Authentic Mexican food at cheap prices. Carne asada burrito for under $ 7. Nice selection of Mexican sodas and they have«Mexican Coke»(aka made with sugar). Tasty salsa with the chips. Owner is very friendly. Look for the Martina’s Mexican Market sign from the road. The«Mi Casa» sign can be seen in the window.

Stopped at Mi Casa(says so on the window) on our way home from Sunriver, based on all the good reviews. Everyone was right — except that we did get a waiter. Great food, good prices and very friendly staff.

We always stop here on our way to or from Bend. The chicken quesadilla is the best and not like what you’d imagine. Great chicken, sparse cheese, and fresh avocado make it one of the best Mexican dishes I’ve had. The atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired, but the food more than makes up for that.

Not sure why posole is so hard to find, but it is. You can get it at Mi Casa on Saturdays and Sundays only, so I hit it up pretty regular. It is tasty, and verrrry filling. I’ve had a few other things – carnitas, super quesadilla which were also good. Taco stand-style Mexican food in a stark setting, fresh-made and cheap. There’s also a small selection of Mexican delicacies – mazapan, Mexican sodas, and other snacks – probably for the people on the busses that stop here. TV showing Univision for your dramatic pleasure. Definitely not fancy but I find myself back here over and over because it’s good and inexpensive.

Great, authentic Mexican food! Recommended. The food is five stars. I gave four stars overall because they do not serve you at the table. If you don’t mind no table service, get ready for some very tasty food!

Good Mexican food. A tip– it came up incorrectly on the map! So use the address to find it.

Authentic Mexican food for cheap. I had a chile relleno which was excellent and in a different sauce than I’m used to in southern California. I also had a carne asada taco and a adobada taco. The adobada was tender, juicy, and well spiced. I do highly recommend the adobada taco.

Ok, we stopped again on our way back through town. Unfortunately, there were 2 buses out front — yet it didn’t effect our wait time or service. Don’t let the buses detour you!

Simple taqueria/tienda where I had some really good tacos and GREAT service. I’m not familiar with Madras, but I’d bet that this is one of the better inexpensive options in town.

We frequently pass through Madras when heading out on various Eastern Oregon adventures. On the latest trip into thunder egg territory, we decided to dig around for some authentic Mexican food. Passing a sign that read nothing more than«Mexican Market», and noticing a few more cars out front than the other options on the road, we decided to wing it and take a chance. I’m going to keep it simple: The food was fantastic and authentic, served by friendly local folks. Highlights: — Handmade tortillas — Some of the best al pastor tacos I’ve ever had — Excellent carnitas plate — Very refreshing jamaica and tamarindo(juice, not soda) After a long day of exploring in the deserts, this was a delicious feast, and we all rolled out of the restaurant feeling stuffed and satisfied. If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican taqueria in the middle of the high desert, Mi Casa should hit the spot. Important note on finding this restaurant: At the time of this review, this restaurant has a serious problem with signage. The sign on the post out front just reads«Mexican Market», but the menu declares the name as «Mi Casa».
