Great food, wonderful service, pleasant atmosphere IF you don’t mind loud, happy people having fun AND you understand that Blackwell’s is not only a restaurant, it is also a pub. =) My husband and I enjoy date nights here at least once a month, and while I always have one of their many entrée salads (the dressings, especially ranch and bleu cheese are excellent), my husband usually opts for a more meaty meal. I think his favorite is the steak sandwich, though the salmon has truly impressed him. =) That isn’t easy to do, and considering how far from fresh water that salmon had to come, it impressed me, too! Try it at least once. You won’t be disappointed. =)

I love this place. Sometimes service is slow but the food is delicious. Friendly service. Love the onion rings. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich is my favorite. Only con is sometimes portions or small, but it’s a great locally owned place.

Found myself in Madisonville for the night and started walking towards downtown from my motel room. I asked a passing local where I could get a drink. He told me about the only bar in town called Blackwell’s. The place was bumping with friendly locals. The bartenders were courteous and made delicious cocktails. I was having a great time and making selections from the jukebox (which could be turned up louder in my opinion) when all of a sudden they announced Last Call. I looked at my watch and it was 11:30. Drinking in the bible belt can be a total buzzkill. But I’ll be back if I end up in Madisonville again.

I frequent this place about twice a month. I’ve tried about everything on the menu. I’ve yet to try something that wasn’t wonderful. I especially like to come in after work with my buds for happy hour. You can’t beat the price. Half price apps and drink specials. There’s not a better deal in town for my money. The staff is very kind and friendly. Last week I went in with a dead battery on my iphone. The bartender charged my phone on her charger for me while I had dinner. That’s what makes this place special.

Good Food with a great small town atmosphere. The service is sometimes a bit on the slow side, but the friendly wait staff make up for the kitchen.
