If you come here to stock up on necessities — and not for the natural lighting — you’re expectations will be met. They don’t accept major credit cards like Visa, but will accept American Express and MasterCard. They also accept cash, check, and Debit cards. My shopping list here is pretty limited to essentials such as veggies, eggs, pita chips, frozen chicken tenders, frozen chicken breasts, and whatever good deal there is on wine that day ;O) I will say, I did get a very nice, plush, bathroom floor mat for $ 7 that would regularly be $ 20 at TJ Maxx that I love. They do have a supplement/health section with some good protein bars and protein powders, though no options besides whey. I wish they offered more lactose-free choices other than vanilla flavored soy milk and Lactaid. There are some good deals on fresh fruits to be had, but there have been times where they were more than the produce at Woodman’s, you just have to be very familiar with the prices for each items.

I’ve been a member for over six years. I usually purchase produce, the bananas are pretty cheap but always green and the hard to find cara-cara oranges are always a treat when in season. I like buying the breads, especially the rolls, cakes(cheapest out there), and rotisserie chicken. Olive oil, rice and spices in bulk are also good buys. Sam’s has a 200% guarantee on produce. I returned a 5lb bag of oranges due to it being very dry and I received back twice the purchase price! Tires and car batteries prices are competitive to area auto stores. Installation and service has always been good if not a little slow and most of the time booked. Make sure to make an appointment or be prepared to wait. My family and l love going when there are samples available. A variety of meats, fruits, processed treats, drinks, etc can be offered. While I haven’t kept track of when samples are served, I want to say it’s any time from from 2−6pm. Weekends seem to be most plentiful. It’s like a mini-meal, although the food court is pretty cheap. The $ 0.99 soft serve ice cream is always a winner. I like that they have self-serve checkout lanes now. If there is a problem, an attendant is usually there to assist. I remember one time, I messed up my payment type and even though a supervisor was having a conversation with an employee, he quickly came over to help. The cell phone plans available are cheaper and most of the time, better than what you’d get at the individual cell phone stores. We’ve worked with John and surprisingly, he’s still around after a couple of years and upgrades of phones. We remember him better than he remembers us, but he does a good job at it. He wasn’t pushy about signing up for phones and knowledgeable about the pros/cons of services/phones.

The guys in tires are nice and helpful, the guys in the cell phone area are nice and helpful, and even the café lady was nice and helpful-so what happened to the rest of the store?! I never leave this Sam’s Club without feeling angry. I signed up in Appleton(great store) and I will not be renewing my membership now that I moved and shop in Madison. Asking for my membership card when I come in the store is supposed to be a convenience to me, so I do not get to check out without it. However, the door people harass me about it until I angrily get it out. I have tried walking in the out-door, and walking out the in-door without any traffic, and again, I am harassed to the point of anger. I have spoken to management about it, and they say they will, «Talk to the door people.» No, this is what you encourage. You encourage your staff to harass people that pay for a membership. I have been a member since I was 18. I did a management internship at Sam’s Club in IL. I know that I should be treated better than the harassment I get whenever I shop your store. Oh, and I downgraded my membership from the plus to the regular membership while being helped by membership services. She was so rude and grouchy, that I decided not to give you guys anymore money than needed. I figured Unilocal needed a more updated review on this store, but I know nothing will change.

Terrible service. Workers at this store just seem plane lazy. No hurry whatsoever, place is dirty, always seems to be stuff on the floor. Then I Went to Costco. MYWHAT A DIFFERENCE. And that place isn’t owned by WalMart. Please don’t shop at Sam’s, spend your money on a company that takes care of it’s employees.

Beep! 10 pounds of chicken breasts at $ 1.79 a pound. Beep! Good generic diapers at $.18 a piece. Beep! 6 month supply of laundry detergent for $ 12.00. Beep! 3 pound bag of organic coffee for $ 14.00. Beep! Oh, and you’ll have a giant slice of pizza and a large soda for just a $ 1.88 as well? No problem! That’s the typical sound of a checkout for me when I’m at Sams Club. I’m the proud Dad of a single income middle class family. Warehouse stores are a Godsend for making ends meet and getting quality products at a reasonable price. While you may end up spending a lot of money leaving here, the value you get in buying in bulk can be very good. You do have to pay an annual membership fee, which for us is just $ 40. After a few times shopping here the membership fee does pay for itself. Do some homework, though, and find out if the products you buy most are a deal, as in some cases the prices are not much different than a grocery store. You can tour the store without paying the membership fee. Also, produce comes in bulk, so make sure you can use all of the bulk purchase before it goes bad otherwise it will be some serious wasted money. What I find handy is the countless prepared trays and mixes that can be purchased. Got an office potluck you need to bring a dish for? No problem! Just heat and go, with plenty of food to feed a lot of people and at reasonable prices. I’ve been a member for nearly 6 years. Each year I end up getting my money back and then some on my membership costs. Sams Club is a great way to save money for your family.

Nothing against the people who work here, just who owns this joint. This is a WalMart establishment. Every dollar you spent here has 60 cent leaving the community versus shopping at local businesses. These stores are the modern day vampires that need to be removed from our towns. They offer great deals and will continue to do so until every local business is run out of town. The products may have well known names on them but be careful as I hear that WalMart orders these at cut rate prices and the businesses that make the product use lesser quality ingredients. Don’t know for sure which products but I know for sure that some are as a friend of mine works for a company that provides items for this company. Beware the food items. They look like good deals but if you do the math they are often MORE expensive than the same items over at the local grocer. Yep, good prices but you are doing business with a vampire. If you are cool with that then don’t complain when these guys are the only places left to shop.
