I discovered Nicky’s Firehouse about 2 years ago and I am so glad I did! This place is absolutely amazing. Their Pizza is by far the best pizza I have ever tasted!!! My wife and I usually go there and split a Pizza and a pasta dish. No matter what pasta dish you get its absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the Nicky’s salad for a starter. I can’t see why anyone would not give this place 5 stars. We dine here at least once a month and have never experienced bad service or any issues with our food. Every time we walk in we are greeted by a friendly staff. Our favorite server Moe even remembers us. It doesn’t get any better than that! Anyone who complains that they have to remind the server for napkins or water must have never worked in the restaurant industry. Nicky’s firehouse can be extremely busy so its easy to let something split your mind when your handling 6 or 7 tables. But if we have ever needed something from the server they were extremely pleasant and got what we requested. It seems like some of these people who post 1 star reviews must have a very sad life and have nothing better to than complain because they feel it wasn’t «perfect». News flash nothing in life is perfect, but Nicky’s firehouse is pretty darn close. I have no affiliation to Nicky’s firehouse other than being a customer who truly enjoys the food and atmosphere. Nicky’s is even a BYOB which always makes things a little better. If you are in the market for Pizza and good Italian food Nicky’s is definitely a place you need to eat at. They are priced affordably and worth traveling to even if you don’t live in Madison.

Excellent pizza, very firm crust, I recently had the eggplant rollatini pizza — very tasty, good sauce with dollups of ricotta. Very good service(I notice unusually negative reviews re service but I never had a problem so I guess they read these reviews and acted on them.) Have not yet ordered any entrees so cant comment on that but their pizza is top notch. BYOB is a money saver.

Excellent food and the BEST customer service I have experienced in a while. The buffalo chicken pizza is amazing. Solid paninis as well(try the rustic). The staff are very kind and willing to go out of their way to make sure you have an excellent meal. I actually feel like family. The décor is very cool too! I also carry out from here — food is still delicious. Quickly becoming one of my favorite spots.

I used to love going to the Firehouse for a nice BYOB meal, however, lately the food has been not so great. The pizza is usually a safe bet and I haven’t had too many bad experiences with the pizza, but the restaurant portion is really letting me down. I love the location and the atmosphere of the place so I keep going back, thinking things will improve, but they haven’t. The service is never good and the food is priced too highly for what you get. I tried it once again, last night and I ordered the Firehouse salad. It was a poor excuse for a 10 dollar salad. There was a few tiny slices of «fresh mozzarella» and maybe one piece of artichoke heart, and a few slices of bad tasting roasted red peppers all on top of a huge bed of mediocre lettuce mix. It should not have been 10 dollars especially without any meat. Other times I have been there I have ordered the mussels and they also are disappointing. They used to be so flavorful, hot, and filling, but lately most of the mussels don’t even open and the sauce is mostly all oil and it comes out lukewarm. I really want to continue to support the small town eateries in the area, but The Firehouse needs to work on their food and prices for me to come back.

After reading some of the bad reviews, I’m certain it was on a bad day or those are hard people-pleasers. The service was amazing, food was hot and delicious, and I even got a free cappuccino because my birthday was last week and the waiter was being sweet!

I honestly don’t know why this place has such bad reviews. The food is amazing and fresh out the oven. They make the pizzas just how I like it, home made authentic Italian style with perfectly done crust and fresh ingredients. Plus prices are extremely competitive. This is no dominos, this is true Italian pizza. When it comes to pizza what more can you ask for? Also the Nutella pizza is out of this world! I love the crunchy stuff they sprinkle on top. The serves are fast and very courteous. 10⁄10 every time!

Best slices I’ve had in a while, especially out of North Jersey. The pesto slice and the balsamic and arugula slice are delicious. My favorite part is the crust: super crisp, not burnt, and thin enough to fold if you wish. On top of that, the service is great. Another great eatery in Madison.

Decent food, horrible service. Table that was seated after ours was waited on before us, appetizer never came then arrived after the entrees, waiter never checked to see if we needed refills etc. The food here is ok, but from now on they’re only for takeout. We won’t eat inside again.

Colossally bad service and 3 star food. Eaten here twice and none of the employees seem to care about anything service related. You just wait and wait and wait for every little thing. It astonishes me how restaurant owners don’t notice their staffs lack of concern.

As a New Yorker, I have yet to find such great pizza In NJ. However, the Firehouse is pretty good and is a really nice family run restaurant. Our family order from them every week, whether sitting to have a slice or taking out.

So this place started to be my go to pizza place in town. Ummm until about the 3rd time ordering the same thing, the pizza was covered in flour. When you ate it you literally got a mouthful. There was no fixing it either… Tried wiping it off, tapping it.. . Anything to get the white flour off of my pizza. Nothing worked and I will not be back. That is one unfixable mistake as I will never know when it will happen again. On the lookout for a new go to

We used to order from Nicky’s all the time before they remodeled. We ordered tonight for the first time since they reopened and I was not super happy. We ordered wings, a salad, and a pasta dish. First and most important the wings they were pretty soggy which is not really a characteristic one looks for in wings. Second and most importantly THEREWAS A FEATHERONONEOFTHEWINGS!!! I almost threw up my food right there. I ordered a Cesar salad with dressing on the side as I don’t like Cesar dressing but what I got was a romaine heart cut with 2 croutons and no cheese smothered in Cesar dressing. My husband says the pasta was good.

Terrible. Sadly disappointed after hearing such good things. The antipasto was small & inedible and the pasta was mediocre at best. The sausage in the Sunday Gravy was burned and hard solid. Seriously, his mother would not be proud. I went in expecting a yummy local find. Instead, I left sad and had a bellyache. I could have had better Italian food at the Irish pub. #bummedbeyondbelief

After a quick basketball game down the block with some friends, we headed over to Nicky’s to get 2 pies to take home. One of the individuals in our group ordered a plain pie, and another went to order a pepperoni. It was at that time that the young lady at the counter began to show her nasty side. She didn’t even let the girl talk before she told her to go to the other side to dine in. Umm, we all came in together, so we were all clearly not dining in. Once we got that cleared up, she ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was all down hill from there. We waited for 10 minutes, and 3 of the group went and got gas. They drove a few blocks down, filled up, came back 15 minutes later and nothing. After about 5 minutes, we heard a guy in the back ask what we were waiting for, which is when the girl up front told him. It wasn’t until then that we saw 2 pizzas being made for us. We waited another 15 – 20 minutes, and still no pizza. We went to ask the girl up front and she had this condescending tone and said«It’ll be done soon, give me 15 minutes.» Well, we got the plain pie but still no pepperoni. A few other customers were also there waiting, all of which had called ahead. One of them even asked us how long we had been there. In any case, the pizza finally came out BUT… they came out with a buffalo chicken pizza. Most of us didn’t care for it, and she said we’d get a pepperoni in a few minutes. We decided not to risk another long wait, so 2 of the girls in our group proceeded to ask her for a refund. Well, her attitude turned even worse and at one point when she was asked a few minutes later about the refund and she said loudly«YES» and then picked up the phone in the corner and ignored them. That is when I got up and called someone else working there and asked for the refund. I’m assuming the gentleman who helped me was a manager or owner because he was very respectful, understanding and prompt. Nonetheless, the damage was done. I can understand that things can get busy and hectic, but I highly recommend this place get a new counter person. This young lady was rude and had a horrible attitude. It also doesn’t help that she somehow confused pepperoni for buffalo chicken. Don’t work at a job like this if you don’t know how to talk to and treat customers. If anyone cares to know, the counter girl was a short young girl, maybe early-20s and looked like she was asian and possibly a student from a nearby school. We called Godfather in Morristown on the drive back home and by the time we got there 10 – 15 minutes later our pie was ready. Very disappointing, because the pizza at Firehouse is actually not bad. Sorry to say that we won’t be returning.

Terrible. It’s a hot summer day and the AC is not running. As an appetizer, my husband and I ordered the fryer peppers. The peppers were cold. The bread was covered in oil. I ordered Nicky’s salad with grilled shrimp. The shrimp costs an additional $ 6. For that I received 3 overcooked shrimp. Will not come back.

We went here last week on one of those cold rainy days because we heard that they had good homemade soups. Yes, this is a pizza place, but we decided to try the soup anyway. To our surprise, the soup was very good. I had the escarole and bead and my friend had pasta fagioli. Broth was clear which is a sign of freshness. Nice presentation and served with shakers a Parmesan cheese and red pepper. Next time I will get a piece of bread to dunk. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I have only had soup there. So far.

I’m really quite confused by the negative reviews! My husband and I went last night for dinner. The restaurant is warm and cozy. There are lots of little rooms within the place which makes it much more intimate. The buffalo wings were amazing. The sauce is spicy yet very flavorful. We also had the meat lover pizza which was delicious and absolutely full of toppings. The meatballs on the pizza were especially delicious. The place is a BYOB. As soon as we sat down our server brought glasses and opened our bottle. Other reviews complained about the service so I was shocked at how great they were-they must have really listened to these reviews! Our water was never empty(and I drink a ton of water!). My husband dropped his fork and within seconds another was brought. There were a lot of servers and they were very present. This is a very family friendly place. There were a ton of kids but they all seemed entertained by the crayons given out and we over heard some cute interactions between the servers and kids. If we had children, we’d definitely bring them here!

Have only ordered regular pizza slice & pie for take out. This place reminds me of my childhood Jewish neighborhood pizza in Brooklyn. Probably not the best slice of pizza you’ll have in your life but for me, the memories of that childhood Jewish pizza is priceless. I actually prefer the slices that’s been sitting out for a while cause when they reheat it, the crust gets crisper. Yum!
