Gross. We stopped here at the airport thinking it would be more like their original location. The food was so salty I could hardly eat it. I got the kitchen sink salad and could barely eat a third of it. We closed out our tab and went somewhere else.

This was a huge disappointment since I am a big fan of their original restaurant downtown Madison. I gave it two stars because they do make good beer. I had the Great Dane scotch tonight, and it was good. The food was bad. Why is it so difficult for airport restaurants to have decent food with fresh produce? I ordered the soup which was broccoli cheese, and it was a thick lump of cheese and salt. It was nearly inedible. The salad I got(Webster street chicken salad) was a bit better but not by much. The mixed greens ended up being old romaine, the chicken seemed like it had been cooked in a microwave, and the apples and tomatoes came in huge chunks. They couldn’t even be bothered to chop them. My waitress was nice enough but that can’t make up for bad food. Especially at these prices.

Complete and total price gouging. Food was fine but portions were much smaller than the local restaurants away from the airport. $ 10 taps is absurd. Game up, Great Dane. You can do better

Truly awful. «Buffalo Chicken wings» are some kind of mega salty nugget. Boneless square chunks of meat that do not in any way resemble a wing and so salty it is hard to eat them. Served with a tiny ramekin of bottled dressing, couldn’t tell if it was ranch or something else my mouth was so overpowered with intense salt. Soup was definitely Sysco served with packs of saltine crackers. Assume the beer is OK maybe I should have had some. The service was excellent too bad the food was not. I remember years ago being excited that the Great Dane was going in to the airport. I believe their food has deteriorated at all locations but this was pretty shockingly bad.

Subpar food even for an airport location. Got their house special fish fry. It came with 3 small pieces of fish and some fries. Really nothing special. The service was alright. I really wished I grabbed a quiznos sandwich next door instead.

I will make this as simple as possible. One of the staff members at this restaurant called me an asshole. Yes… asshole. Why might you ask? Well…as we always do we get to the airport and we eat and get on our plane as late as we can since we have a baby. Well we ordered our food and drinks 35 minutes before what the final call for our flight would be. Well final call comes and we just got our drinks and no food. Well… at that point it is time to go. So… where is our waitress to get our food to go and to pay. We have 10 minutes. Yeah…she is about as easy to find as a Hodag(look it up people). I asked the bar tender and she told me she has no clue and cannot help me. I told her I don’t care about the food… I just need to pay and go. At that point she storms into the kitchen and shouts some while calling me a asshole. Umm. I am right here. So…she come out and I question why would you call a patron a asshole and well she just ignored me. I HAVETOGO!!! Finally my waitress resurfaces and I have 2 minutes to get on my plane. Yes.2. I paid. for everything including the food I did not get and I am gone. So…yeah. I am the asshole when we had told the staff 35 minutes before when we ordered this is a rush. «No problem» is what I hear. Well this asshole thinks you have a big problem and it is the shitty no talent not my job douchebags that you have working for you. Serious… how hard is a brat and fries?

Open early for those of us who always seem to book that –6am flight! Enjoyed everything I’ve had there and it’s typically an easy in and out.

Servers had no beer menu for me so I ordered a bud light expecting a $ 4 – 6 price. They said they had landmark instead. I ordered it and a bad $ 5 soup. I was shocked to see that my light beer cost $ 10. I felt like they completely ripped me off. Just bring your own food the next time you go to the airport.

My first one star. They ran out of several menu items and service was pretty poor. Not sure what the issue was but the service was slow!

The server was nice and attentive. She is the only reason for the second star. This place seriously needs to reconsider their kitchen staff! I ordered a veggie omelet with a croissant. The omelette swerve listed as «3 egg». Pretty sure I got a 1.5 egg, and not even a real omelette, more like a fried egg overlay! The veggies were cold and uncooked and they put feta cheese in it when I thought the menu said Monterey Jack. Then, to add insult to injury they somehow messed up the croissant too! It had all these black specks on it and a small amount of unknown liquid botching the middle. I love croissants, but it was just gross! Good thing they have a captive consumer base here or this place would not make it! Disgrace to the other Great Danes that are actually good! Management needs to seriously reboot this place and it’s priorities!

At least the food was ok. Asking for a bourbon(Knob Creek) on the rocks apparently is tough for the bartender here and they’ll still charge you $ 12 for it and then ask to close up. Seriously? It’s not even 7:30pm, my flight is delayed, but go ahead and get your money and make an easy drink bad.

Place is like average. Nothing interesting. Only one server was working, she was working hard. She was nice. She forget 3 times what we asked for, but I understood the problem she was the only one covering the front. Ordered ruben sandwitch it was nice.

There aren’t a whole lot of options when you’re at this airport, this is one of them. Appears to be a local pub in Madison serving local beer. And this is their airport outpost. It’s quite simple, go in an seat yourself basically. I liked their sign of «This is what we Produce», and then«Today we have», it gives a good picture of what they are about. The wheat beer had a very nice taste to it. It’s light and good to have right before hopping on a plane, or perhaps getting off your journey. The server has a quick humour but not laugh in your face type of thing. Just enough to get a chuckle so you’re not bored. The décor is rather lacking, and while it is the airport, the thing with airports these days if you wanna be comfortable. And this place, kinda feels like it’s missing some comfort. Doesn’t make you wanna stay. All in all, one of the better options for a drink I think, food I didn’t try so can’t say.

Where to begin… menu is awful… Food subpar after you finally get it. And worst; I was just charged $ 10.43 for a 20 oz beer! And the bartender said they«ordered the wrong glasses» so … She had to give me the«largest» glass. BS! Previous experiences have been the same — I am done. Great Dane owners — please consider divesting in this location. It is a terrible entrée to otherwise great selection in Madison. It is doing you NO service to the name. If only you are stuck at airport — do NOT go here.

Sub par food, a good beer, and a single waitress in the whole place. Unfortunately the Dane County Airport doesn’t have much of a selection when it comes to eateries. At the airport early and wanted to sit down and have a bite to eat. As this place appeared to be one of only two sit down games in town, it was packed. Had to hover ready to pounce to get a table when someone left, which took about 20 minutes. Once we had a seat, the waitress took our drink order relatively quickly. As I mentioned she was the lone server with about 15 – 20 tables, so you better be ready to order when she stops by or who knows when she will be back. She actually did a great job considering the sheer volume of customers she had, but come on, that isn’t fair to her, or your customers. The beer was the shining point of the meal. I had a Stout that was darn tasty. Since we were in Wisconsin we had to go touristy and order up some Cheese Curds as an app. They were barely passable, more like small bite sized crappy cheese sticks, but the carrots they served with them… wow. They appeared antique, they looked so old. Shriveled, whitish, disgusting looking things. No clue how they made it on a plate. Main course was a burger and fries(the menu is SMALL), and was forgettable. Overall, not recommended, and the only reason for 2 stars is because the beer was tasty.

While this airport restaurant has the Great Dane branding and menu, it is not the same as any other Great Dane you may visit in Madison. A typical Great Dane is fairly well rounded and has pretty decent food, beer, and service. This pub is the airport version of Great Dane so it is severally lacking. There are too many flaws here that I cannot overlook. I had two hours to kill before my flight upon arriving at the airport brightly and early. Since I had plenty of time, I skipped by $ 12 airport coffee and breakfast sandwich and instead stopped in at this airport Great Dane. I thought to myself, «Great Dane has okay food so I might as well go somewhere that I know will at least be decent.» Unfortunately, this was not the case. I do not have much to say about the décor. It is obviously an airport space that someone attempted to setup like a pub. It’s not horrible, but it still has that sterile airport feeling to it. Upon walking in there was a sign out that told me to seat myself. No servers were anywhere to be seen so I wandered over to a booth. A Unilocal tip claimed there were plugs at all the booths. This was not the case! There was 1 plug on the entire wall. The sever eventually appeared out of the kitchen and threw a menu down on the table. She was back about 5 minutes later, and I settled on a cup of coffee and the genetic breakfast combo, which comes with eggs, your choice of breakfast meat, and two pieces of toast. Upon asking for the combo the server kind of looked at me and said«uhuh?» I believe the professional way to phrase the question she meant to ask is «What breakfast meat would you like with that and how would you like your eggs done?» It was all, rather rude. There were two servers staffing the entire restaurant, and I have a strong suspicion that they were also working the kitchen. The floor was frequently empty, and the servers would disappear into the kitchen for some time. They would then reemerge with gloves on. Great Dane, if this is the case, please staff your establishment properly. Several people walked in, sat down, and left because no one was on the floor. You are losing customers! When the servers were on the floor they were having a loud conversation across the space with one another and over the heads of sitting guests. Eventually my food showed up, and it was highly disappointing. I expected Great Dane to at least bring some consistency to the table, despite this location being in an airport. My bacon was way too greasy. There was a visible puddle of grease under it. I do not think the bacon was drained off after cooking it. The scrambled eggs were way over cooked, slimy, and chewy, The solid mass on my plate was presumably left in a pan to cook and someone walked away. The toast and coffee weren’t amazing, but they were clearly the best part of my meal. Great Dane, I understand that this location is in an airport so the prices will be higher than usual and quality is going to suffer. Unfortunately, the quality of service and food has suffered so much that I cannot look past it. If you want a quick bite for breakfast and a coffee, just go spend your $ 12 at the organic coffee kiosk across the hallway from this Great Dane. The food here is not worth waiting for.

This is the Great Dane on the secure side of the airport — after you clear TSA. It’s not bad for an airport joint. It’s actually pretty consistent with the other Great Dane locations in Madison. I ordered the Webster Street Salad with a cup of Corn Chowder. The Salad was decent aside for one bite of gristly chicken. The salad was comprised of mixed greens, plenty of dried cranberries, walnuts gorgonzola and cut up bite sized pieces of chicken. The Corn Chowder was tasty albeit the salad alone would have been plenty substantial in terms of filling one up. If you are in the Dane County Airport — this is your only option for a true sit down restaurant. It has a full bar and the service is relatively efficient. They are also open very early if find yourself at the airport for a Zero-Dark-30 flight.

When you’re at this airport, you’re limited on restaurant choices. I was surprised that they had a Great Dane here at this airport, I recognized it from the one located in Downtown Madison. Unfortunately, my experience at the location in Downtown was not great. I was reluctant to try this place, but, as I mentioned earlier, you are limited on options when you’re at this airport. My coworkers and I were at Wisconsin for Epic UGM. When we got to the restaurant, we knew that it was going to packed because everyone was flying out from that airport. When we arrived, we had a party of 5 and we were told that the wait would be 30 – 40 minutes. We understood and took a seat outside while we waited. The host was kind enough to come get us when our table was ready. We were seated and I was happy to see that the waiters and waitresses were quick to serve us, despite the madhouse. The waiters and waitresses remained clam and friendly the entire time, that’s a big plus! Food, I ordered the tomato soup and beef wrap. The tomato soup definitely came from a can, but it I was craving it and it came out hot so it did the trick! The beef wrap was decent. I was surprised that they heated the entire wrap, I was only expecting the wrap to be cold. I also ordered the Sprecher root beer. Glad I was able to get this before I left Wisconsin! Overall, this is not a bad place to kill time as you’re waiting for your flight. The service is great! The food is decent.

The Great Dane in the airport is the only true restaurant in the place. It is a good place to grab a square meal before a flight, and with outlets in every booth, it is also a great place to charge up. I went to the Great Dane for breakfast on a Monday morning. I got two eggs, bacon, and toast. The eggs were cooked well, the toast was great, and the bacon was a little soggy. Overall though — decent food. The service in the other hand is a bit below average. It took 10 min to be greeted, and I didn’t get a water my food was being brought out. I also got sausage instead of bacon on the first try. I can overlook all of this since I wasn’t in a hurry, but if I had a plan to catch, it wouldn’t have worked out. This place needs to be speedier if they’re going to be in an airport!

I was served these carrots with my cheesecurds. They were dry, shriveled up, and had, slimey spots. I asked for new ones, and the server returned with another set on unacceptable ones and remarked«I just opened a new bag and they all look like this». My thought– just bc you open a new bag does not mean its not spoiled inside. Note to management– Train servers to use better word choices with customers.
