Now that they were reopened again after being closed down for health violations, they have good food and sushi. Spoons near the ice cream have chunks of food that have been harden. It almost looks like they just ran it over with water and considered it clean. Felt like they reached just the borderline of the health inspections in order to be in business again. It would be nice for them to have a minor or major renovation. Other than that, great place to eat on the budget and a quick lunch break.

My wife and I gave them a chance. We do not live in the area and needed some lunch. Our experience here was excellent. Good atmosphere, clean, fresh food, great selection, no complaints!

This is a buffet style restaurant. I took my wife and daughter there for a late lunch. There wasn’t much food out at the time we arrived and what was left did not look very appetizing. So we ate some soup and spring rolls while we waited for fresh food to be put out. My daughter saw some crab legs being put out and came back to the table with a few. Almost immediately, the waitress came running to the table yelling at her that she couldn’t have them, took them off of our table and put them back on the buffet. Apparently they wanted us to pay extra for them. Keep in mind I had not even been given my check yet. I have been there before with my family and had crab legs before and they have always been included in the buffet price. There is no signage to indicate otherwise. There was no excuse for an employee to yell at my daughter and embarass her. I really don’t know what these people expected us to eat since most of the food had been sitting out for hours. We will never be back.

OMG. Take an airline sickness bag with you and then plan on leaving hungry because NOTHING is good. I just left China a few days ago so I know how gross real Chinese food is. This is worse. The worst I’ve ever witnessed. $ 37 was the total and my hospital deductible will be an extra $ 300. I wish I could erase this experience from my memory. I feel like I may have cold sweat nightmares and flashbacks — that could just be from the indigestion. Everything tastes exactly the same. They must be frying in 10 year old 10W30 oil. I can’t warn you strongly enough. Perhaps tied with the worst Chinese food experience of my life — and there have been a couple. When they get it wrong, it is soooo wrong. This place managed to fail on every item(we were really hungry so we attempted anything that looked edible — nothing was. Nothing).

Food is okay. It’s not worth coming here for dinner. They are always out of crab legs. One person will take a plateful of crab legs, leaving the tray empty and then it never gets refilled.

Have eaten here several different times. Also have done take out. I’m torn several times food was good, fresh and nice people. On the other hand sometimes not so fresh and not a good selection… but you take the good with the bad. The take out was pretty expensive. I won’t do that again.

Seems they have had some change in their operations as they are now calling themselves«China Grill Buffet.» I have eatten here many times and the bottom line is that it is bulk food. The buffet line has it all; shrimp, crawdads, mexican items, apple pie, ice cream, etc… However, the hibachi grill guy is great and mixed all my stuff into a tasty creation. Service is fast and furious. For the price it’s worth a try. I would like to go sometime for dinner to try the crab legs…

Very large buffet with hibachi and sushi bar. Also has some Mexican and American food. Lots of deserts and nice salad bar. Drinks can be a little slow sometimes.

I have to be a glutton for punishment, another Chinese buffet. My original intent was to get some food at the Chuck Wagon BBQ next door, but it was closed. So I dropped into the China Buffet last night because I was strapped for time(and I had no desire for«Fast Food»). Well, I found it to be a better buffet then the much advertised Chow King(which I ate at on Sunday 8/17, see my review), for the most part, the food I sampled tasted better and was hot. The egg roll was flavorless though, and I felt the sweet & sour chicken had too much breading. Other then that, everything was tasty and I left satisfied. I plan to be back, as I only work a mile or so away. Didn’t sample any desserts while there, so can’t give a review on them. I probably would’ve given China Buffet a 4 star rating if there was more of a seafood selection. Felt it was lacking.

Great Buffett esp the Mongolian stur-fry. My wife and I and other church members go there after Church about twice a month. Highly recommend it. Waitresses are fast and courteous.

I’ve eaten dinner here many times and I really think it’s quite good. Service is fast and friendly. The buffet items have always been fresh and tasty and the new hibachi offerings are very good. The only thing I didn’t care for was the sushi bar. That was probably because it was very«americanized» with lots of fake crab and cream cheese fillings. It looked pretty and it’s probably good if you like that sort of thing. Give me raw tuna and sea urchin any day. ;-)

My third time here at lunch time. The first 2 times, all I had was hot and sour soup, which was delicious, so today I decided to give the buffet a try. I got there right when they opened at 11:00, for what I expected to be freshly prepared and presented food. How wrong I was. First let me say that I didn’t have the hibachi or the sushi; just the«regular» Chinese buffet area. The lo mein was over-cooked and chewy. Egg roll was frozen and mostly the wrapper with little filling. Spring roll was frozen and zero taste whatsoever. All the chicken entrees tasted the same(how did they do that?!). Spicy chicken, honey chicken, sesame chicken, salt and pepper chicken… same, same, same. Mongolian beef uninspired. Pork roast looked amazing, but was tasteless. Pork chop, tasteless. Truly not anything had any flavor. I ended up pouring soy sauce over my entire plate in an attempt to get SOME flavor out of the food.(That, in turn, caused me to leave the restaurant feeling as though I had just drunk a glass of liquid salt… which I sort of did!). But alas, there was one, and only one, item that I enjoyed. It was very freshly prepared, quite good, and piping hot. The hot and sour soup. I have come full circle and will stick with the hot and sour soup during future visits.

Meh. I visited this establishment in the middle of the afternoon and that might have shaped my experience. The food all seemed like it had been sitting out for a long time and I had a difficult time finding anything that looked fresh. The noodles were actually not too shabby, but a little greasy. The sesame chicken, on the other hand, did not taste very much like sesame chicken. To sum it up, this place is a buffet and I didn’t even get a second plate.

The spicy chicken is to die for! Don’t even get me started on the sesame chicken… on point! The fish in the entrance transported me straight to china. Overall good Alabama Chinese food.

I was visiting my folks a few days ago and i mentioned maybe we could go eat sushi somewhere. I knew where their was a good sushi house but they wanted to go here and they said the«sushi» was very good. Actually, it isnt sushi. It is just sushi rolls. They were alright. China Buffet has about everything anyone could possible hope for in its buffet… like most chinese buffets do. They have a hibachi grill which looked nice but i didnt get anything off of it cuz i was just in the mood for sushi but since they dont have sushi i just ate the rolls. They do, however, have awesome kimchi. It was very spicy and flavorfull. Most chinese buffets to not have kimchi so that is what saved this place for me. So if you want sushi dont come here. If you want a run-of-the-mill chinese buffet that is no too terribly bad then this place is for you.

I’m surprised by China Buffet. This place has been here for as long as I can remember, and I was partially dreading a work-related group function at China Buffet. Plus it is sort of shaped like a barn. First of all: I despise buffets. To me: a buffet is where questionable food goes to die a slow death by heat lamp. To my surprise, China Buffet has offerings unlike a decade ago: a small-ish hibachi area with a dedicated cook; sushi; steamed seafood(crab legs and shrimp) and maybe raw oysters, I’m not sure; and an abundance of round buffet areas laid out so you can select from various soups, salads, steamed seafood, various rice selections, etc. So, the buffet is well-organized and accessible, which is good, because it is a crowded restaurant. We were a party of probably 14 people, and the waitress did a decent job of keeping our iced teas full. Prices are super-reasonable. I think, with iced tea and tip, my lunch was ~ 10.00. Don’t be afraid to try China Buffet. But *do* go early, because I’m sure that after 1:00 or so, the food enters that«death in the buffet» zone and isn’t as fresh.

I work at Jetplex, so I tend to come to this Chinese Buffet way too much! It is very affordable for lunch, about $ 7.50 with tax, and the selection is incredible. It has a nice selection of sushi, fresh fruit, seafood even a Mongolian BBQ. My only critique is that they do not rotate the food selection. It is pretty much the same exact thing EVERY since time you go there, so it would be nice if they had some variety. But at least what they have is very good. The Spicy Chicken is my favorite and it is truly spicy, and I’m someone who eats Habaneros quite often. UPDATE — I wonder if they read my post, as they have changed a few(perhaps 10) of the dishes they put out for lunch.

No Military Discount but they do have a senior citzens discount. They have a LARGE buffet with a mongolian grill, shusi bar, cold & hot seafood bar and icecream. We we drive from Huntsville to eat here often. Good selection of beer.
