Charleston Oaks Apartments

SAVE YOUR MONEY. I was in Iraq last year and my wife signed up for the apartment. When I came home we moved in. I found a job and we bought a house. My lease was up at the end of March. They made me pay for April because I did not give them a 60 day notice. I didn’t know 60 days out that I was going to have a job and a house by then. They did nothing to help. They charged me for a higher rate than I was paying during my 8 month lease, and then after turning my keys in on March 31^st, send me a bill on the 26^th of April charging my for water for the month, water that I did not use. They once again did nothing but tell me I owed them the money. The staff is unhelpful and ungrateful. I called them and told them that when I went and paid for the month of April, I asked how much I owed and told them I did not want to be back in there or owe them anything else, she said «That’s what you say you said» I said so your calling me a liar? and she said «well?». They gave me a number and I wrote a check, put the check with the keys to the apartment and the mailbox in an envelope and put it in the drop box. They now are charging me money for both sets of keys, which I turned in, and are not giving me back my $ 100 deposit because they say the fan was dirty and there was a smell. They are bad business people and the front office does not care about the people in the complex. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I would tell the residents there now to turn in a 60 day notice and find somewhere else to live.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE… I moved to this place about 3 months ago and I am breaking my lease to leave the place. It is by the train tracks and day and night 100’s of trains pass by and even at 3 AM they honk their horns it shakes the place. I was thinking that should be illegal for the trains to honk like that after mid night or so but obviously it is not. I also have never seen any apartments as poorly insulated as Charleston Oaks. I can hear my neighbor going to the bathroom doing their business and I am serious about that. I use Skype to talk to my family in other States and the neighbor’s dog barks next door and my family thinks that I got a dog and they ask me for the dog barking sounds like coming from my apartment. It is by far the WORST place I have ever lived and I am gonna pay lots of money to move out but still cant wait to get out of here. There wont be a peaceful moment here. Every night you see cops coming to the place. Since I moved here I feel like I have been working day and night because of the problems here. THE PROBLEMS WILL NEVER GO AWAY if you dont go away.

I love the staff, especially Cindy and Michael. They know how to take care of business and are so very personable and customer-​oriented. I moved in at a special discounted price they were offering and haven’t regretted it since. I can hear the sounds of trains passing and love it. I hear some complain that it is too noisy. I disagree. More importantly, I feel very safe and my neighbors a kind and considerate! One other favorite aspect of living at Charleston Oaks is LOCATION! I’m close to great restaurants and several shopping centers and REALLY close to Redstone Arsenal’s Gate 7. It take me 15 minutes to get to work. Hard to beat.
