Its great place to go for retro games and any hard to find older items staff is friendly and easy to talk to. prices are fair However, the store is dirty. Stock is scattered and piled on the floor Its hard to find cool games and make a sale if its thrown in a box on the floor with 50 other items There is clutter behind the counter, general disorganization and rubbish on the floor. The two guys in the store should stop playing DOTA and do some actual work. I know if they were working for me they would.

This place is amazing. The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. I purchased a game from them and they told me if it didn’t work to my liking I could return it in 30 days. They tested the game and it worked for them but not well on my older system but they let me return it no problem. All of their items are priced fair. Probably about 5−10% cheaper than what you would find on eBay. Their prices are also a lot cheaper than other retro gaming stores in the area. They are a step above competition because of friendly staff and good quality items at a fair price. Please don’t change any of this!

I feel like some of my Unilocal reviews have been«warnings» and I’d like to write about a business I really loved visiting. There’s a huge boom going on in «retro» video gaming right now — people miss the simple controls, the colorful characters, games that didn’t start with two hours of tutorials and cutscenes. Back when games were games. As with any trend there’s a lot of pretenders and people trying to take advantage. Stores selling you a «Rare! NES Final Fantasy» for triple ebay prices. Or even worse — stores that treat their retro items like a console graveyard full of sad, jaundiced SNES systems. Retro-Taku Videogames totally breaks the trend. They have a friendly, knowledgeable staff who are ready to answer questions, prices at or even sometimes below fair market value as determined by something like price charting and WOW the selection! Everything from the USA and Japan from Atari on up. Boxed Famicom and Super Famicom games brand new, and pretty much any system you would ever ask for even very rare ones like the Panasonic«Q»(Gamecube/DVD Player/Stereo) If you have a friend who loves buying retro games, or you do — and you don’t want to deal with ebay and guesswork go see these guys. They have everything you need and also keep an updated Facebook with new intake that they are extremely responsive on. Their stock is in awesome shape and everything I’ve seen works as if it were brand new. Definitely power up your collection with Retro-Taku Games; the best classic game store in Michigan.

I bought my son an NES system a couple years ago. I could only find the games on eBay or amazon or at some video game stores and they were always kind of expensive. I am so happy I found this store. They have a huge selection of various games and systems. Their prices are very good. They test all their games and if for some reason one doesn’t work, you can return within 30 days. Recently we bought a throw back Sega Genesis system at Meijer, and they have the cartridges for that system as well. They carry everything from game boy, to intellivision, to wii. I would highly recommend checking them out.

Only passion makes a store like this possible. They have new and pre-owned Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation, PSP, DS consoles, games and accessories. Great selections of Japanese import and I’ve recently purchased a used Japanese PlayStation 2. I am thrilled to be able to play games from my home country and youth! It made me re-visit the time when I used to play games with my little sister… Their trade in service is great as well. In the past, GameStop has told me that they didn’t want to buy some games I wanted to sell. These guys have not yet rejected any of my games I traded in. Please«Like» their facebook page. It may help you since they post items as they come in their store. Retro-Taku is more than just a store who sells products. They are independent, helpful, full of knowledge and proud to be nerdy gamers. They bring back fun times we used to have… like blowing into Nintendo game cartridges!

As an avid gamer, with a special taste for the classics, this store is a God-mode-send. They have a colossal selection crammed into a tiny store, with everything from Atari Pong to PS4 and everything in between. They specialize in Japanese imports, and can help you mod your console to play foreign games. Great prices, knowledgeable staff, and the only place this side of eBay to find rare stuff like the Sega 32X or the Vectrex. They do have a cat roaming the store, to which I am allergic, but the store is kept clean and organized so I don’t even notice.
