On The Rocks Bar And Grill

Quick service, tasty and fresh food. Although a bit pricey for bar food, the quality seems fresh and and always tasty. Have tried a few items from their menu, always happy.

Came for lunch. Killer burger. This is what I expect when I want a good bar burger. Juicy not some frozen patty. Hand made patty cheese was great tasting and steak fries had the perfect crispyness. If I lived near here I’d come here more often. And for lunch cost me less than 7 $.

This is one of my favorite places to go for dinner and a few drinks. Everything I order is always good. The servers do a great job overall. I like that they rotate some of the handles, so there is something new to try. I’ve never had a bad experience here.

Just an update. Always a good time here! Shared a slim Jim and a build ur own burger. Both were fantastic some of the best bar food around. A special menu every single day, with at least 15 different choices. Fair prices and David the owner is a great guy!

My favorite local bar. Great service, great food, great karaōke. Kristen is my favorite server around. The owners are nice people. Will recommend to anyone to stop in for a good time. :)

I had a good time there last night. Went there for karaōke with my co-​workers. We had fun. The karaōke dj was fair and did a good job rotating singers. Just don’t play with the microphone or you’ll get a lashing (lol). Good/​friendly karaōke crowd. Seemed to have a lot of regulars. Food was good. I guess people come here for dinner and a beer. I ordered the texas wrap with fries (but i guess i should have ordered the tots upon reading other reviews) and that was good.

Awesome food and drinks. all reasonably priced. Can get a little cramped when busy but that is it.

Music was great, the drink selection was great and cheap, and the menu looked awesome. We ordered some burgers and they were amazing. Definitely giant and really good. The drinks were great and strong. The owner was really friendly and talked to us for a bit. We liked the atmosphere, felt welcomed, and the food and drinks were on point. We’ll definitely be back!

Not bad. Plenty of people watching. The food was decent bar food. It seemed like a friendly place where there were a lot of regulars. I’d go back again.

Five things you should know about On The Rocks:
1. The tots here are good. Like, really good. Their fries are also pretty good but you want to sub out the fries for the tots. Trust me. Lots of places seem to think that tots don’t need to be crispy or that you can disguise the blandness of subpar crappy tots by smothering them in toppings. On The Rocks gets it right. Perfectly seasoned crispy tots every single time.
2. The staff are all very friendly and seem to care about their customers, or at least do a good job of making it seem like they do. The regulars are generally agreeable and non-​combative, which helps add to the overall ambiance of the place. Feel free to chat up your neighbors over Keno, Buzztime Trivia, and assorted cables news networks & sporting events.
3. You want to get an On The Rocks rewards card. You’ll earn points for every dollar and whenever you earn enough points you’ll get a gift card. Double points on Mondays! There is also a punch card for lunches where after enough punches you get a free lunch.
4. I’ve been sampling all over the menu lately and can say that the food is of a pretty good flavor/​value ratio, even when you’re not ordering off the «specials» menu. But the $ 4 build-​your-​own ½ lb burger is a winner every time and I also appreciate the fact you can get fried clam strips here. Not enough places offer those underrated little nuggets of goodness anymore!
5. It’s not a craft beer bar so don’t come here expecting one. There are a few rotating craft taps to appease that crowd but this place is geared toward your working-​class yellow fizzy beer drinkers (and liquor, lots of liquor). Remember to tip at least $ 1/​drink or 20% (whichever is greater) because we want the aforementioned friendly staff to remain that way!

This place always seems to pull a large crowd. There are many TVs and lots of seating. The owner is very friendly and makes an effort to stop at your table and confirm that everything is to your satisfaction. They offer plenty of alcohol; I only wish their food menu was a little more extensive.

I was first time customer and probably won’t ever return. Went there for a goodbye party. Was seating in the back where they do the karaōke. Now granted we did have about 25 – 30 people with us so the server was probably running around like crazy. But that’s when you get another server to take some people. I asked for the calamari. The server forgot! So I just told her cancel after 30 minutes. She comes back 5 minutes later a mind goes «we can still make it for you. The cook just has to run across the street and grab it then cook it» lmaoooo like what? Haha no I think I’m good but thanks! And also wanted to mention my boyfriend got 3 drinks before I got my 1. Ended up going to the bar for the rest of my drinks. The bar tender Courtney rocks! If it wasn’t for the karaōke, my good company, and Courtney… I would’ve left.

Went here for a friends birthday, it was Karaōke night. We didn’t eat but the people we were with did, they liked the food, It looked good. The waitresses were very attentive, and it was packed in there. It was a nice mix of people, everyone cheering the karaōke singers on which was fun. We enjoyed our night.

The owner comes to say how is your meal. Food is great you get a alot on your plate. Steaks are the very best very juicy& tender. Go see them asap. Drink specials everyday.

If you are looking for great bar food this os the place. The specials are always amazing! Dont forget to join their point club, they do double points on Monday so make it your regular dinner spot on Mondays

Great place! Really good food. Our host/​waitress was so helpful and we’ll versed on options and suggestions, it is apparent that the owner respects not only his staff but also the pleasure of providing high class service and excellent food. The location is a few miles away, yet will now become my «local «. Please visit — will be so enjoyable.

What my girl said, truth. Never again. Shame too, cause I could walk there. I will say this, the owners have made an effort to reach out to us and I respect that, but after a few times of the same double charging by the waitresses I’m simply not willing to risk it again. Even if it was free. I hope they keep a better watch on the waitresses. So, ty to the owners for trying to make it right, but take my advice and police your servers. Added a star for your efforts.

The quality and price is outweighed by the terrible service. Either there has been a lot of recent waitress turnover here or there is no program in place to ensure the waitstaff knows the menu.
I ordered the famous homemade chicken tenders and our waitress couldn’t find them in the computer to put the order in. Also you had no vanilla vodka for the Moscow mule.
The food was great but service was slow and unimpressive. The décor is dated and the place is dark.

Karaōke night was so fun! Their blue mule is pretty good. But by far the star of the evening was their cheesy breadsticks. Everyone at our table ended up getting their own order. Service was decent, maybe because they were pretty busy.

Great place, fun mixed crowd. They take care of you, mixed drinks we’re a bit of a let down but the choices are good and the prices are ok. AND yes there karaōke is allot of fun and they do a pretty good job with that. If you want a fun night out watching or doing karaōke give it a try.

From the cheap drink prices to the friendly staff, from the wide variety of patrons that you’ll find here (young, old, married, single, looking, just hanging, hipsters, jocks) to the karaōke, this is a pretty solid place. Food’s pretty solid as well, so no complaints n that front either.
Definitely worth a stop if you’re in this neck of the woods — you won’t be disappointed.

This is a great local joint for food and fun. They have Keno, Trivia, and a full lunch and dinner menu, not just your standard bar food… although they have that too!
We started coming here recently with friends for before bowling dinner. They always somewhere for us to sit, even when the lot looks full.

This is how this bar double charges their patrons: there are two waitresses that take care of your table. One waitress at the end of the night gives your boyfriend the bill while you are in the bathroom. The boyfriend pays cash, the other waitress comes to you with the bill and you pay credit card. They split and pocket the cash, and the business gets paid. Meanwhile, on the way home, we find out that we both paid! This has happened 3 (every) times over, and the only reason I ever went back was to give this dump another chance. I was obviously too generous, which is my typical nature, but places like this ruin my want to be kind or generous.

The karaōke system is old, the feedback on the hot microphones want to break my eardrums, the music list is too old, there’s NO room to sing, I’ve tripped over loose cords EVERY time I’ve been there, the karaōke host is rude to anyone singing outside her clique, and she plays favorites with the karaōke rotation, and her friends get to sing more than all the patrons who are looking to sing.

Came here for the first time on a Saturday night. The place was packed and the karaōke was loud. Sat up at the bar and watched the rest of the Wings game. The bartenders were nice and the drinks were reasonably priced. I haven’t tried the food but it looked good. I’ll definitely come back here again when I’m in the area.

I’ve now eaten here several times and the food is really good. It’s not just bar good, it’s a legitimate dining option.
The bar staff are still fun, funny, and sarcastic and the beer is cold.
I recommend the chicken strip dinner (not the appetizer). Hand dipped and made to order with steak fries, soup or salad or coleslaw. This place is no longer my starting point. I’m happy to stay for the night

I found this in my drafts, written two years ago.
Since then I returned to On the Rocks once more, just recently.
We started with a nacho appetizer. It came pretty quickly, but I think it came a little too quickly, as the cheese was hardly melted. Normally a huge fan of bar nachos, I didn’t think these were anything better than I would have made myself — and I’m not an awesome cook. My boyfriend ordered a burger medium well and I ordered a chicken caesar salad. My salad was good, but you can’t usually go wrong with chicken caesar. His burger was SUPER pink in the center, which he didn’t discover until he had eaten several bites in. He wasn’t super hungry at this point and didn’t say anything to the waitress. We aren’t really complainers, more of the «remind me not to order this from here again» types.
The waitress took away our plates and when she came back she asked my boyfriend if his burger was too pink and if that was why he didn’t finish it. So clearly, it wasn’t just him being picky, since she noticed that it was pretty raw in the center. When she asked why he didn’t say anything and he said «I don’t know — I felt bad and I wasn’t even hungry anymore». She laughed and when she brought back our bill she had taken off the burger and told us «I’m not going to make you pay for something you didn’t eat!» She was a really sweet waitress, very attentive, and is the main reason why I gave On The Rocks 3 stars after our second visit.
We probably would only return for drinks in the future and hope that the dancing waitress from 2012 doesn’t work there any longer.
Oh — and the $ 3 long islands are still gross!

I like this place. Have been a few times for various things, from karaōke night (I sang «Soul to Squeeze» by the Chili Peppers — and I was damn good!) to birthday parties. The place reminds me of an older bar from yesteryear, with the old-​school décor and straight-​shooter image. It doesn’t try to wow you with aesthetics, but that’s fine. It’s about the experience with the different people.
You have some interesting folks here, from the older gentlemen who are sitting with the young blonde bombshells to the hipster crowd to those who just like to party. Drink prices are respectable and the ambiance is calm but inviting, whispering, «Come drink me up.»
There are different aspects to the bar too, from watching sports on multiple TV’s, dancing, singing karaōke, and they have poker too I believe.
It’s a cool place to just hang out and throw back drinks, without the guido’s and the douche bags cramping your style. It’s kind of a blue-​collar bar and that’s fine with me.

i loved this place! definitely a locals bar and not the kind of place i’d usually imagine finding myself in, but kind of the exact type of place i love. everyone — both the people hanging out and the people working — was super nice and friendly!
i had a few drinks here with friends and stayed for karaōke. the drinks were nothing extravagant, just had some whiskey sodas rather than any of their cocktails. also had some snacks like chicken tenders and mozz sticks, which were good, as expected since you can’t really mess those up. oh also, they honored our foursquare check-​in deal for a free chips and salsa! our waitress was super nice and attentive, though it was pretty busy, and our bartender, (courtney i think?) for the later portion of the evening was even better.
karaōke was great. watching a big dude in a lions jersey earnestly belting out miley cyrus pretty much sums it up. one complaint is that we came here a week before thanksgiving, and i wanted to karoake johnny mathis’ sleigh ride, but they wouldn’t let me because they have a policy of no christmas songs before thanksgiving, which is an okay policy but that is not even a christmas song. haha
anyway, a good time was had by all, and though it seems like a random place to have stopped by, i really liked it and look forward to going back when i’m in the neighborhood again!
