A & G Central Music

I recently had a wonderful experience at A & G Central Music, and highly recommend their services for your music needs.
On Saturday, September 26^th I visited A & G Central Music in Madison Heights with my mother, to inquire about a Tenor Saxophone. She recently had my old Alto Sax (a Bundy II, purchased from A & G decades ago) refurbished through their services, and the instrument was in top, near-​mint condition: their restoration services are second to none. Upon presenting the like-​new refurbished sax to me however, I wondered if the alto could be traded for a tenor, so she diligently accompanied me back to A & G.
We were immediately greeted by two associates, both women, who were helpful and provided clear explanations about trading-​in and what instruments might meet our needs. At this point the owner, Robert came out and helped us further, describing the differences in saxophones and which tenor would best match my desires. At this point, he even grabbed a new reed, a pair of tenor saxophones off the shelf, and let me try them out in a private practice room. The saxophones felt great it my hands, and I was happy to observe that A & G still stood for quality when it came to their merchandise.
After an agonizing debate I realized that my true desire was an upright ¾ bass, and Robert again provided great insight into finding the right instrument. His knowledge of the products he carries, as well as his efforts to continually stock items central to his customer’s needs (he frequently attends worldwide trade-​shows to provide cutting-​edge products) were greatly appreciated. While we didn’t end up trading in the Alto for either Tenor, the knowledge, friendliness, and welcoming atmosphere at A & G Central Music will keep myself and my family returning for generations. I highly recommend A & G for your music needs, and am happy to report that Robert is carrying on the tradition of outstanding customer service set by his predecessor George. Five Stars!!!

Friendly & helpful staff. I took my vintage trumpet in for a general restoration. Replacing pads & corks, buff & clean the mouthpiece, reattach a couple small nubs to control tubes. They gave me an accurate estimate, and did the work well and quickly. This is a music store that is primarily geared towards school band instruments. Great selection of sheet music as well, and they offer private lessons as well. This is now my place for all my trumpet service and repairs. Getting ready to have the horn refinished so it looks like new. Will post hiw that turns out when it’s done.

Friendly and professional staff. I took my flute in to be cleaned and overhauled, took home an instrument that looks and sounds as good as the day I got it. Thank you for taking such good care to restore an item that means the world to me. Looking forward to a cello purchase in the future.
