I didn’t find the tacos to be great, but they were good. They are a good size though but I would rather have tacos from the local carnicerías. I did like that they have a large menu with lots of options. I loved that they have a kids menu! I would try this place again but try something other than tacos.

This place is alright. They did not have carnitas, which was very disappointing but I ended up getting 3 asada &1 chicken taco. I’m not a big fan of chicken in my Mexican food but it was moist and pretty tasty. The steak was flavorfull, a little chewy but over all fair. The price you can’t beat, $ 1.75 a taco. I would give this place another try, especially to see if they have carnitas next time.

After a disappointing experience at Maria’s Tacos, I was determined to find some solid Mexican food in Madera. Tacos Express is pretty good… although not«express». The food was hot, tasted fresh and I will definitely be a repeat customer when I return to visit my parents. I feel it’s better for take-out than dine-in. There is a .99 charge for refills which seems silly. The woman who took my order(which I assume was the owner) was friendly, but never made eye contact until I tried to create a further conversation(unfortunate as I was the only one in the restaurant). The price is very reasonable for Madera and comparable to those I am used to in Los Angeles. After reading a review from a previous customer, I made sure to bring cash as I did not want to pay a .50 surcharge for using a credit/debit card. Place is very, very clean and the food felt authentic.

Please change the name… The food is pretty good but it took forever for us to get our food. Nothing express about it. The owner/cook/employee should find a sitter for her son, it was aggravating trying to enjoy our food after waiting so long and having her child repeatedly ring the service bell over and over while watching sponge Bob square pants on the TV. Other than that the food was good, will probably order ahead for take out next time

Yum! This place is great! The tacos are huge and you can’t beat the price! My personal favorite is their cheeseburger. I’m not a big fan of Mexican food but their burgers are DELICIOUS!

My wife and I have been wanting to try this new Mexican restaurant in Madera near the high school. So today for lunch we stopped for a quick bite to eat. This is a small, eight table place without much in the way of décor. I’m sure in time decorations will go up and the place will develop some character. The music from the stereo was a little loud which made hear the gentleman taking our orders a little difficult but we got through it. I ordered the burrito supreme and my wife ordered the quesadillas. Both chicken and both were about $ 5.50 each. We also ordered drinks and out total was around $ 15. Not bad for the food we got. The food came to us very quickly and the presentation was very nice. I enjoyed my burrito which was a very nice size. My wife liked hers too and I even snuck a taste when she wasn’t looking. We both left very full and my wife had to get a box for the rest of hers(if she doesn’t eat it by 8pm, its free game). I would have given this place five stars if it weren’t for two things. They charged me 50 cents to us my credit card. I am sorry that is a cost of doing business. Make up your product to cover the transaction fees for credit and debit cards. It’s pretty tacky to add on another fee when I am trying to pay you. Here is a tip to those working on tips, for me it will come out of your tip if I have to pay a fee. The second issue I had was charging for refills when the soda machine is out in the middle of the restaurant for self-service. I paid $ 1.79 for a medium drink, there is enough of a profit margin in that price for refills. But after thinking about their location, maybe this is something the owner had to implement because of the high school crowd. A medium soda with five kids sharing a nacho might increase the food cost on that order. So I think next time I am there I order a large without ice. Over all I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking to not wait in long lines at Sal’s or Burrito King on Sunday. If you’re looking for a quick in and out lunch, this is your place. If you’re on a date and are looking for a place that won’t keep you from buying popcorn at the movies, this is your place. They also serve hamburgers for that one person in your group that just won’t do Mexican. A three taco plate with rice and beans is only $ 5.00.
