I Sat at a table for exactly twenty minutes and did not get served, so I left. Based on service alone I would not recommend this place.

To be fair they had good bacon cheeseburgers; however, the 2nd time we visited there were only two tables late in the evening and our waitress, Tesa, charged us twice for a smoothie refill, when we only had one, and then added an 18 percent gratuity to our party of 2 check(myself and my 7 year old) without telling me. I don’t ATALLMIND the tip being added, what I do mind is that I wasn’t told about it BEFORE I added ANOTHER20 percent tip to what had already been added to my bill. So, I in essence paid an extra $ 23.00 that I should not have paid and the bulk of that went to Tesa in extra tip money due to the inflated bill that I in error tipped on AGAIN due to the overcharge AND the ADDED tip. Now I will accept responsibility in that my husband and I both routinely trust the wait staff and just give them our credit card to expedite the check out process. I also double checked our bill from the night before to make sure that a tip had not been added to that one and it had not. Kudos to that waitress whose name I did not pull from the receipt. So it is clearly not a company policy to add the tip to a party of two automatically. I will never be going back and I would suggest that if you do that you read your bill carefully and tip cautiously!

Beach, bar, good beers and no frill. Just what you want. Allie, the bartender took care of us. Came back again for the second time today and still our favorite bar around here so far. Haven’t had the food, but looks great.

First time here and loved it. MIKE is a fantastic one man entertainment center. He sings he dances(cutest butt) and mixes with the guest. Our waitress was awesome, forgot her name but she’s a very attractive brunette with long beautiful hair and a beautiful personality to go with it. The food was typical beach bar food but oh those eggplant fries. They were to die for. Will definitely go back again.ĺ

We love this little bar food good for this type of bar. Beer $ 9 for a pitcher of BudLite. Wings pretty good, a little hot for mild lol. We enjoy the music even though not always the best but just relax life is to short. Great beach bar.

Great beachy bar and grill in John’s Pass. Loved the monkey coconut souvenir cup, especially because you choose any drink you want in it(it comes in a plastic drink cup within the coconut so it’s not all sticky). Atmosphere is upbeat! Mix of electric and beach music. Outside and inside seating. Only things I didn’t like where 1) no hostess when you walk up… not sure if I could seat myself or not, and 2) the fish tacos weren’t the best. Shredded lettuce and a tortilla with the meat. Other than that, it was great!

It was okay, they seated us where ever we wanted. It took awhile to get utensils infact I don’t think we got any until after our food came out. I had fish and chips it was really good it had a light batter and a lot of fish. What kind of fish it was I don’t know? I think my husband had fish tacos it looked good. They do give lot of big fries which the kids gobbled up. It was good dining experience outside and listening to music.

This place get four stars for the eggplant fries. My shrimp tacos were so-so, simply grilled shrimp on a bed of shredded lettuce on a flour tortilla. However, the mango sauce on the side tasted fresh and not too sweet, which saved the shrimp tacos. But you MUST order the eggplant fries with bam-bam sauce. They are served as an appetizer, but get a basket for your meal. I could have eaten the entire basket but I had to share. We sat in the outside patio which was nice. Two of our party went early and we met them there. They told us the service was lacking before we came, and two tables got up and walked out, one apparently because they were totally ignored. Our waiter was moving so fast I didn’t catch his name. Our food and drinks came quick. The entertainment was so-so but not annoying. I’d go back just for the eggplant fries.

While food was good service was terrible. 40 minutes waiting for drinks; over an hour before our food came out and they were not busy;

This is the best food and best service we have had in the area! Jenny, our server, was kind and attentive. The atmosphere was perfect relaxing, with a tiki-vibe. The live-band was great and got people involved. It was fun! The food was absolutely incredible. I can’t say enough about it. There is outdoor seating and an indoor/outdoor bar. It’s close to lots of fun shops and activities. If we come back to the area, this will be our first stop!

Bamboo Beach Bar & Grill brings a little bit of the Polynesian vibe to John’s Pass for good. We were drawn to this place by the Tiki umbrellas, colorful drinks, and live music. Once inside, the waiter told us to sit anywhere we liked which is always a plus in my book. We quickly ordered couple of glasses of sangria and a side of fries to start with. The waiter came back with our order but also brought us a side of the house-specialty…the«boom-boom» sauce. Whatever you do, do not forget to order a side of this sauce as it will make anything taste twice as good as it was meant to. The sauce is especially great for dipping your fries into or drizzling your seafood with. For entrée we got blacked fish tacos topped with mango salsa. The tacos tasted very fresh and delicious and we quickly gobbled them down. All this time while enjoying our food, we were being kept entertained by the serenating voice of Mr. Chuck McClure who provided live music for the evening. Out waiter checked with us almost every 15 mins. I also suggest that in the summer you grab a seat in front of the giant floor fans as it can get pretty hot sitting outside. If you are drawn to Tiki Umbrellas, Totem poles, and live music then checkout Bamboo Beach Bar & Grill to experience something a little different from the usual.

I wish I could give zero stars… Unilocal! How could you let me down so so much?! I should have listened to the other locals’ warnings. First things first, this place is completely unkept and has no air conditioning. Maybe if this location was anywhere but florida this concept might work, or if they would at least spring for some ceiling fans it would be fine. It’s never a good sign when you walk into an establishment and it’s basically empty, but I was starving and I let that get in the way of my better judgement. After examining the limited menu, being at the beach I figured fish was the way to go until the waitress informed me that all fish products are frozen and that the fish sandwich was a «close cousin» to grouper. I figured I could at least get a decent drink, but alas it’s $ 10 for a «craft» beer and $ 15+ for the cheapest liquor drinks. I’m from Miami, land of the overpriced drinks, and even I think that’s obscene. After finally ordering food, we were approached aggressively by the owner of the establishment accusing us of smoking marijuana(we were vaping with an E-cigarette). We explained to him that it was just vapor(honestly not even nicotine! Flavored smoke), but if he would like we could move outside of the patio, despite us already being in a smoking section. He proceeded to yell and curse at us(literally screaming«f*ck» in our face), demanding that we «respect him as the owner of the establishment, and to make sure not to correct him!» Obviously, we got up and left. You can get plenty of generic beach food with FRESH fish and more reasonably priced drinks all over the beach, where you WONT have to deal with hotheaded owners on a power trip. Check out Friendly Fisherman, Priates Pub and Grub, or if you’re willing to trek a tiny bit further, the long-standing Dockside Daves. You won’t be disappointed(or verbally assaulted) STAYAWAYFROMHERE!

I went on vacation at the end of March to Madiera Beach. I love trying new places and went to my handy dandy Unilocal for some advice on a new restaurant. I found Bamboo Beach! We got there and sat down, there was a man singing live music named Chuck McClure! He was amazing and really set the tropical mood. Our server was a bit spacey but was quick with getting orders and our food out. I got the seafood combo platter and my mom got the blackened chicken sandwich! They were both good. Has good flavor and were spiced nicely. The whole place was packed but our servers stayed on task with drinks and he made us have a good experience. I definitely recommend this place when you’re vacationing. I’ll definitely go back!

Fun place to hang out with friends. They have lots of outdoor seating and an open air indoor area. Came during the seafood festival and the staff was very overwhelmed by the crowds. We were in an area that had no service so we bellied up to the bar and put our order in for some food and drinks. Bartender told us they couldn’t serve us where we were sitting so we took our drinks and said we’d come back when food was ready. I had the special rum plantation drink and it was quite strong and good. A little while later some guy brought us our food. Staff is very unorganized but it could just be due to the festival. Live music was great. I ordered crab cake appetizer and they were surprisingly good. We later moved where they had waitress and ordered more drinks. She said she was ready to quit and complained about the bar staff. Massive confusion and she never did bring our drinks. So we went back to the bar. And waited some more. Would give them another shot when they aren’t overwhelmed and under staffed.
