Golden Bough Vintage Books

One of my favorite used book stores. It compares favorably to those I have visited around the world, including NYC, Boston, Iowa City, Paris, etc…

The Golden Bough is the ultimate bookstore. Eric is the best bookshop owner ever. He’s got his thumb on what he has and where it is. Throwing suggestions at you once he knows what you like. Not afraid to call certain titles and authors crappy.
This bookstore is also a haven for local music lovers. We drive an hour every Tuesday to go see a show at 9pm. They range from 1 – 4 bands playing in the back room. Some amazing artists roll through that bookstore, and the shows are free. You should seriously be there.

The Golden Bough Bookstore is unlike any other bookstore in Middle Georgia. Since the majority of inventory is used books, the Golden Bough is the perfect place to find your favorite books at lower cost.
But won’t the used books be all marked up or damaged?
Not necessarily. The Golden Bough offers many paperback books at just $ 2. You can find most of these books completely unmarked or unharmed.
The Golden Bough also carries a variety of new books as well as out-​of-​print books. Upon request, you may be able to order any book from the Golden Bough and buy it at a lower cost than Barnes & Nobles or Books-​a-​Million.
The unique thing about this bookstore is the free, weekly concert held every Tuesday night starting around 9 PM. Yes, you can hear live music from, mostly, unsigned bands hailing from as far as Miami to Massachusetts. There have been even a couple of European-​based bands to play at the bookstore. Another great thing is that the bookstore is open until 7 PM. Sure, it may not open until noon, but being open late gives many people getting off work the opportunity to swing by with plenty of time to browse the store.
For all books, I shop at the Golden Bough Bookstore. You can receive a discount off any new book, some discounts ranging from 15 to 20 percent! By the way, you don’t need a membership for such discounts either.
