Oh my god, the place was filthy, stinky and disgusting. Everything we ordered was covered in a thick white batter, deep fried, greasy and flavorless. What a mess! Nuf said. Update, they are out of business and closed.

I loved Wong’s! It was older and funky and we really liked the food and especially the people working there. I am especially at a loss to find another restaurant that serves sweet & sour spareribs like they did and like I remember when I was growing up. They were just the spareribs in the sauce without all the breading and batter that restaurants seem to feel is necessary now. Seemingly they take a long time to prepare so they are rarely served anymore. Any ideas?

This place ain’t white. It’s Wong’s. Wow I couldn’t believe how bad the general tso’s chicken was. The bacon fried rice was so amazing. Their bar has a great assortment of well-executed drinks but since the establishment has nasty ceiling tiles and boarded over windows… I won’t go back. The place needs to shut down or fix up. They’ve got a seed of real potential.

Wong’s seemed like it could potentially be right down my alley… divey, cheesy, and I do occasionally love me some very Americanized«Chinese» food. Well, first to the décor. It was amazing… in terms of the divey aspect. Many of the ceiling tiles were warped and near falling in. The walls were stained as though they were«sweating» with grease at some point. Cheesy art. I was smiling hugely at this part. On to the food… The drink list was VERY extensive. It was overwhelming. I ordered a Brandy Alexander that came out in something like a waterglass and looked like a milkshake. It was VERY strong, so that was nice(and kind of expected). We ordered some hot and sour soup, egg foo yung, General Tsao’s Chicken, bacon-fried rice, white rice, and maybe one more dish. Hot and sour was not terrible, but not great, sort of like I’ve had at some Asian buffet places(think Todai). The egg foo yung was like thin burger patties of egg, like the typical beaten with sprouts other veggies, chicken, and such, but covered with an almost fluorescent gravy that was a brilliant orange and reminded me of a gravy in a jar(taste-wise). The General Tso breading was fried and crispy, which was nice, but the sauce it was dipped in was just something entirely different from expectations based on any other General Tso’s I’d tried. It wasn’t bad, per se, but wasn’t really good either. Bacon-fried rice was a great mix I hadn’t had before, haha, and fell into the bacon rule. White rice was undercooked, what the heck?! All in all, I wanted to like this place sooo much and considered coming back until we felt bad(in the stomach) after leaving. Still, there was something about this place, atmosphere-wise…

we expected the traditional american-chinese fare and we were not disappointed. i am sure wong’s will be missed by many and especially by the bar patrons. after 15 years, wong’s will close in 30 – 60 days from mid-september. this prompted an immediate and urgent desire to dine at wong’s, in spite of the 7 years i drove past wong’s daily, and never once stopped in despite my ever-growing curiosity. the parking spaces in the front were always filled but i never saw anyone in the dining area through the windows. i always assumed the cars belonged to the patrons of the bar. imagine our surprise to discover a full parking lot behind the building and a large dining area filled to almost capacity adjacent to the small dining area visible through the window from the street. the food was freshly prepared and inoffensive. sweet and sour chicken: a beautifully brilliant orange colored sauce. broccoli beef: a bit bland compared to panda express. chow mein: decent but not enough noodles and lots of celery. ribs: tasty cut up braised ribs with lots of filler veggies. not the dry style you can get at pf chang’s. rice: dry, room temperature, and clumped up. but it was free. tea: actually quite good. a fragrant brown tea. clientel were of all ages, many appeared to be locals and regulars. yes, the bar was full.

A dark cloud will hang over Lynnwood the day Wong’s closes. Unfortunately folks, that day will soon be upon us. Wong’s will be shutting its doors to the world in a matter of weeks. Gone will be their delicious sidecars, Singapore slings, oatmeal cookie shots, almond joy doubles, and the rest of their ridiculously extensive and inexpensive cocktail menu. I can’t find anywhere near me that will make me a Singapore sling. What am I going to do? Will I miss their food? No. I honestly don’t get why people go to skeezy Chinese places and expect quality food. The real magic is the bar. I really suggest you go before you miss out on the opportunity. You won’t find a better drink at a better price! I have been coming here since the day after I turned 21 over five years ago. I have had some great times here, and was looking forward to being a patron since before I could drink. You will be forever missed, and Lynnwood will somehow become even more boring in your absence.

The worst Chinese food I had ever. I have been all over the world trying Chinese restaurants. This one smells bad and the food I had to trash it. Do not waste your money.

The food was okay, but it is not the best in town. I ordered fried rice, and it is almost standard as other chinese restaurant do. Egg foo young is the best from all in the menu, and General Tso’s chicken was too saucy when I eat. Never have a problem(sick) after eat there. The place, is quite like 70s. In the restaurant section, it was very quite. And what I did not expect in the restaurant was the«hidden» bar. It almost like ‘70s bar looked. When it comes to bathroom, it is pretty scary for people to go there, because there are some grafitties and other stuff that written on the wall. I am not always go to this place, but this place been the lowest priority of chinese food to go, and always order for«to — go» when I am starving.

To say this place is a dive is the understatement of the century. I am sorry, but I just wasn’t impressed with anything about this restaurant. It was dirty, icky and smelled like cigarette smoke. The best thing they served was the won ton soup — that was very hearty and tasty. The fried rice was tasteless, and the almond chicken had gravy with no flavor. The egg foo young was okay, but I just don’t like the gravy they use. I ate here years ago and found they’ve gone wayyyyy downhill. I was scared to go into the bathrooms, so I didn’t venture into that territory. My son, however said the bathrooms were really scary. He said it looked like the ceiling was going to cave in. I don’t think we’ll be going back any time soon. It’s too bad, because I was really hoping for better things from this restaurant. I felt I would have been happier at Panda Express.

Years ago, long before I knew of Unilocal, long before I came around to the Bourdain school of «strip mall/food truck/dive quite often equals deliciousness,» my mom was in town and we were driving around looking for something Asian-y to have for dinner. We were completely starving, and pulled into the parking lot here. It looked ghetto, and I was a snob. Starving. Didn’t care. Let’s keep looking. Turns out my instincts were right. The stars were aligned for me to love this place. I adore divey restaurants now. Bring me your tired looking, your poorly maintained, your huddled masses of people waiting to get into that hole in the wall. Some of my favorite food has come from very unassuming places. Drinks had been consumed. I love bad Chinese food. I was in the mood for some super greasy chow mein. The guy at the counter was friendly. I ordered a combo meal to go, and sat in the adorably garish lobby with the Pac Man table game. What’s not to love? The food. The food was not to love at all. Worst Chinese I have ever had in my life. How can one eff up an egg roll? Glad you asked. Start with a purée of indistinguishable meat and veg. If there was a wrap of any sort, I missed it. But there was batter aplenty. Battered mush. Gross. The chow mein that I imagined, greasy, soy soaked noodles, maybe pan fried, was nowhere to be found. Carrots, celery, and pale white chicken with matching noodles, drowned in what appeared to be thickened water. Flavorless, textureless, disgusting. BBQ pork was fine, but the house hot mustard had a wet dog funk to it. The almond chicken had a nice crunch, but there was more breading than chicken by far. The sauce was a brown colored variant of the aforementioned thickened water sauce. This meal made me sad.

Like everyone is saying, this is a guilty pleasure. We know it’s not healthy, but sometimes you want that«bad-for-you but tastes-good food». The food is pretty decent for a Chinese restaurant like this. Not the best, but they give huge portions that they magically fit into those tiny take out boxes. Greasy, greasy, greasy. Yes. if you can’t stand the sight and smell, avoid this place. If you love that kind of food then this place is for you. They don’t provide quality Chinese food. Kind of like those cheap looking Chinese«prop foods» you see on television sitcoms. The interior doesn’t even deserve a star to be honest. It’s dark, dirty, smelly, and just plain terrifying. I recommend ordering ahead of time, get in, get out.

I really like this place. The food is pretty typical of a chinese-american, but the drinks are what rocks. I come here for the almond chicken and the well priced, wonderfully strong drinks. I guess the food is just a side-note for me compared to the drinks. I don’t know what people are talking about it being dirty, I haven’t noticed. Yes, the décor is totally outdated & the walls are a bit stained from when smoking was allowed indoors, but I see nothing«unsanitary» about it. The service is fast and friendly and the prices are reasonable. The portions are ridiculously large, so there’s always left-overs. I’m still full from over two hours ago. I definitely recommend the long island ice teas & the bf loves the oatmeal cookie(because they make it as a whole drink, not just a shot).

Wong’s is a guilty pleasure! This is comfort food — great for takeout — you can sit in the Tai-Shan Cocktail Lounge and have super cheap stiff drinks while you wait. It doesn’t get better than that — comfort food and cheap drinks!!!

In my work I see a lot of kitchens and from looks of the outside of this building I thought this would be bad. But the kitchen was one of the cleanest commercial kitchens Ive ever seen. I came back a few weeks later to eat. the food was pretty tasteless and boring. Well i guess a clean kitchen isn’t everything.

The food is good — a bit greasy, but good. Why two stars? The place is dirty… really really dirty. Also, when you walk in the bathrooms are immediately to your left and STINK up the whole front lobby. For the sake of my health, I refuse to eat here anymore… though I must say, before I knew how dirty it was, and just ordered take out, they food was fine. Not exceptional but not bad either. I think a few check ups from the health department and a renovation will bring this restaurant back around.

How do i say this nicely… I will take a deep breath, maybe that will help. A couple of my friends said this is their favorite chinese cuisine in lynnwood. I now know that these friends, while wonderful and dear to my heart, lack class, common sense, and tastebuds! I came here for takeout. I cant remember what i ordered exactly, but i do know it was the standard fare, as i always do going to a new chinese joint. almond chicken, sweet and sour, eggrolls, rice, and chow mein. The chow mein was that sad, chun-king chow mein-in-a can type preparation, with wilted veggies, weird bland gravy, and crunchy noodles. That upped the EWW factor for me. It was inedible. The rice was seasoned with msg, and it wasnt dry, so it was ok. The fried food was pretty standard, the gravy for the chicken was bland. The eggrolls were those heavy overfried overbattered nightmares that make you feel like you are going to have a coronary if you take another bite. Again, bland, same veggies as in the chow mein. If this food review is not enough to scare you away… how about dingy 70’s interior… dingy, like really dirty! I will never trust my friends opinion again, as I have already established that I have a superior palate!!! p. s. Probably 10 or 15 years ago, i used to see animal control trucks sitting outside this establishment, I can only hope it was because the animal control officer was there eatin lunch… then again… probably not.

First and foremost, I have to say I’m pretty torn on Wong’s. To begin with, the interior gets half a star at best – it’s scary dingy. It’s vintage 1970’s décor and the walls have what I assume is the accumulated nicotine and grease stains of decades on them. Not nice. Actually, it’s a good place to take a date for a sit-down meal on what’s supposed to be your idea of a romantic evening, if you secretly want to break up with them but you want them to do the breaking up. Wong’s is also what I call an Trailamerochinese Lounge, i.e. one of those places that attracts trailer trash who come to do their drinkin’ in a cheez-o-riffic, tacky, smoky bar because to them, Chinese food’s all fancy-schmancy an’ shee-it. Klassy! And the food is, alas, pretty greasy and stick-to-your-ribs(and arteries, and gullet, etc). So in the interest of public service, I’ll give it two stars But you know what? Wong’s is also a guilty pleasure of mine. For those times when you actually want greasy, stick-to-your-whatever Chinese food that won’t leave you hungry half an hour later, it’s not half bad and they don’t skimp on the portions. For that reason, I do get food here now and again, more frequently than you might imagine. For take out.
