Scan Design

Not only did i find an amazing well made sofa at a fair price, our sales person Sean was awesome. No pressure, helpful and made me laugh. At pick up both Sean and Daniel in the warehouse helped me load it into my friends pick up. Couldn’t be happier and definitely recommend.

Although the style of furniture is not me and my wife’s particular taste, after being in there for 15 minutes no one greeted and all the people that worked there walked right by us. If you want terrible customer service and to pay high prices go there. If not stay clear.

I have to admit — this is not furniture intended for me at all. I prefer more traditional styled stuff. I also think the prices on these pieces is high, especially for items sometimes covered in veneer. But I get it. People need to make a living. What info like about this place is that the staff is really professional. They don’t stalk you. I really appreciate that, since nobody has ever made a buck from me by following me around. In fact, when I described what I was looking for, the salesman told me in the nicest way that I was probably not in the right store. Then j got to browse without being hassled and I enjoyed that. If you like modern furniture, where the sales staff is professional and respectful, come here!

A solid 4 stars like everyone else. They worked with me on what I needed and wanted. Manager herself helped me out. Delivery was top notch, they said the window was 12−2pm, and they were there at 11:59 with my tv console on the lift gate when I pulled up to my own house. Offered to install the shelving and everything for me but I declined. Wanted to take care of that myself to fit my components. It’s just a TV stand and costs a pretty penny but I’ve never owned something so well built. Very happy with what I got. People in the showroom are pretty easy to deal with.
I take away the 5^th star for:
Price (it’s spendy) It’s worth it, but if you are on Unilocal,you are looking for value.
The sales/​shipping spiel where they claim it «comes from ‘back east’ and will take 8 – 10 weeks to arrive» giving the impression there are Amish or Scandinavian people making stuff (it’s made in china by perfectly good craftsmen) Obviously the same as a container ship journey. I just smiled and said that was fine. Because it IS fine, I couldn’t afford a cabinet maker to replicate such a thing.
When I walked in and asked for the manager by name who I had been in contact with, the floor people gave me the stink eye and asked if I had an appointment. Granted, I was wearing a shirt with my name embroidered on it, not the look of someone to swipe a card for $ 1500 10 minutes later. A little pretentious.
Highly recommend if they offer what you need.

Scan Design is a different kind of furniture store and the experience is different from the moment you enter the door. There are no vulture salesmen. There is no cursory appraisal of your needs. They take time to find out what you really want. The furniture is not the cheaply made junk available in most stores now. The furniture is quality made, elegantly designed, beautiful furniture mostly made in Scandinavia. It costs more than junk furniture but they have some really good sales. I just bought a TV console at a 25% sale. Furniture is like shoes in that it is cheaper in the long run to pay for quality.

I asked if they would ever consider hiring someone with a disability and they said, «they wouldn’t hire someone with a disability because they need their employees to be at 100% all the time.» When I asked if they had any experience with supportive employment they said, «they wouldn’t comment on that.»
I walked out.

I’m really happy with the dresser I bought here. Fit perfectly into the space (isn’t that always nice) and the price was right on the money. Solid construction using good materials, and it blends seamlessly with my other bedroom furniture.
Sales staff was really helpful and friendly. Their store isn’t the largest, Mor is much bigger, as is the Macy’s down the street, but the quality is WAY better here. If you can afford the difference in price and are looking for elegant but not «stuffy» pieces, check out Scan Design!
I’ll be back to check out their stock next time I’m in the market for furniture.

We bought our teak dining tables and chairs here during one of their perpetual sales. The quality is excellent, and the table and chairs are beautiful. The table seats 8 and seats 12 when extended. Microfiber chairs with ergonomic backing.
For their prices, I’d give them 4 stars. Quality and service are definitely 5 stars. We were only able to get 3 chairs at first, but they ordered 3 more for our set which we received later. After looking at the 6 chairs together, we saw that one was a noticeably different color. Had we bought the chairs at Ikea, it probably wouldn’t have mattered. But we spent a decent amount and wanted the set to look nice together. They were pretty flexible and let us exchange that one chair. We’re very happy with this set and appreciated the great service.

You know I just realized while going to write this review what the scan means in Scan Design… I am really dumb at times. They have some sweet stuff at scan design. Some which are totally not functional but hella cool. The stuff is expensive but if you find the right thing it is well worth the price. If you are looking for modern stuff with clean lines or if you are obsessed with pricey Scandinavian things go here. If you want a barko-​o-​lounger go across the street to JR or look for something on the side of the street.
