Leather to Lace Cleaners

Prices here are comparable to any other dry cleaner I’ve used. It’s always possible to find someone cheaper, but at what cost long term? I’ve never had these guys be late, and their service has always been outstanding. No complaints about these guys at all, and would (in fact have) recommend them to friends.

Having just moved into the neighborhood, I wanted to find a solid dry cleaner. After looking at Unilocal,I picked 4 places based on distance to my house and the Unilocal ratings. For a scientific valid comparison, each dry cleaner recieved 1 cotton shirt, 1 silk blouse, and1 pair of dress pants — all dropped off on the same day.
The four cleaners were:
Ruby Cleaners
Crown Cleaners
Harbour Point Cleaners
Leather to Lace
All I have to say is: what an abismal place. Terrible performance, and EXPENSIVE to boot. The cost at Leather and Lace nearly DOUBLED that of the least expensive cleaner.
The little man who ran the store front is nice enough, but the first tip off that this would NOT be a steller experience is the fact that they wouldn’t honor my coupon because there was some special restriction I didn’t meet. Eventhough that was not clearly indicated on the coupon, the didn’t do anything to try to rectify the situation. Urg. The owner got on the phone and told me he would honor it the next time I come in… except there won’t be a next time because I know a business that had a better sense of customer service would have tried to earn my business the first time (especially in a situation like this).
After promising that I would get my clothes in 2 days, I arrive on Friday to find they had not started working on my shirts and pants. They asked me to wait, and I stood there waiting for my clothes for 30 minutes as he pressed them right in front of me.
At the end, he didn’t know how much to charge me and had to call his boss to verify the price. Seriously? How about just giving the guy a FULL price list including «press only» pricing.
And the press was poorly done. TWO THUMBS DOWN! Definitely won’t be back.

I took a *brand new* leather jacket (stained by handsoap) in to be cleaned. When I went to pick it up, someone in the store had gotten blue ink on the front of it. Without any sort of apology, it went back out for another cleaning. The owner made me feel like it was an inconvenience to re-​clean it, even though THEY made the mistake. When I picked it up a couple more weeks later, I took it home to discover that they had PRESSED it and completely ruined the look and feel of what had been beautiful soft leather. The lining was stretched out so it hung out of the jacket and it had been hanging on a wire hanger that caused the interior shoulder seams to start to come apart. I took the coat to my regular alteration specialist to fix it and she was appalled at what had been done to the jacket. The customer service was terrible, the service itself was awful, and I lost $ 50 during the whole process. Be warned, this place ruined my very expensive leather jacket with absolutely no apologies.

ok I will be short, but these guys rock. They do an awesome job for me and my business. I was suprised when they took care of our order so fast and above our expectations.
