The store does everything it can for its customers. I wanted to compliment the staff whom helps me when I come in. Ross, and Kelly are the two who went the extra mile for me, by doing so made me want to write this review. Long story short, I had multiple issues with a bible bought. A page defect (problem from the Zondervan brand company) Each of the staff members were so incredibly kind as I came into the store on two separate occasions. I ended up having to make two exchanges, both online, and ending up not working out. The third bible that they helped me order was perfect, and I really can not say enough nice things about how they handled the inconvenient situation. Ross was just the best, he even made a personal call to check on why the same defect was happening, and if they knew about it.
What mattered most to me was how he kept his word, and when he said, he would call me back to let me know what they said, he did. He did it in the afternoon hours, and kept his word. Kelly was awesome and once the perfect bible came in, she was so on top of the transaction, and made the exchange, and credited me back perfectly, even though at this point, the back and fourth transactions were a hot mess.
I am so impressed, and so excited to have this type of customer service at my closest christian bookstore. This season of life hasn’t been the kindest, and the simple and calm service made the difference to me.

I use to love to go into Family Christian stores but this week I went into 2 different ones. I was shocked to see the place looked bare and I can see they are struggling. Their prices are too high and there is always a wait to check out even if you are the only person in the store.
I went in to buy Chris Tomlin’s new CD Love Ran Red which came out that day, the 28^th and both stores didn’t have it out. This location still had a pre-​order sale going on and had no idea where the CDs were.
Another thing I’m seeing is they are carrying movies and music that aren’t christian at all. Not even close. I feel like they’ve lost their way and «Christian» is only in the sign but it’s a free for all on the shelf. No standard, no line. How can you put someone who teaches about Christ next to someone who doesn’t believe He was the Son of God?
Anyways, I’m finding myself and I’m sure others are to, to seeking out a place that is truly Christian and carries stuff I can trust and don’t have to research before I buy it. It’s so sad… so sad.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I love the items for sale at Family Christian Book store and frequent the one in Olympia quite often.
BUT, I am hoping that management reads this and makes some changes to better the service and experience that customers receive in their store.
I went on black Friday to pick up some wall art which on sale. I stood in line for 28 minutes while ONE person handled the registers. There were 4 other employees wandering the floor along with the manager. The poor girl checking people out was also handling phone calls.
They were apparently oblivious to the lines and were more intent on upselling all of the items they try to get you to buy. It was a very frustrating experience. There were 14 people in line and it took me 28 minutes to move through the line. Yes, patience is a virtue but it was beyond ridiculous when they could have been helping customers check out instead of wandering around.
The worst part of the shopping experience was when I heard the manager guy tell an employee loudly ’ We have made 86,000 as a company today — that is 11 percent of yearly profits!”. I could not believe my ears. Who talks about company profits in front of customers?
This is a big store with a lot of great products but suffice it to say that I wont be coming back to this store.

Really nice location — check out the pond and trails behind the store. Great way to start reading what you just purchased. It’s a nice store with a great selection and the staff really knows their products — just ask if you can’t find something. The only downside is the upselling that happens at the register — looking at the previous reviews, it looks like I’m not the only one. If they could stop doing it so hard, I’d definitely change my review to 5 stars.

It’s kind of tucked away and easy to miss, but I enjoyed this store, particularly the children’s section. Great clearance section too. Fairly quiet and friendly staff. This applies to all Family Christian Stores, but I wish they wouldn’t try to sell you so much at the register.

Love this store, staff is always helpful and goes out of there way to help you. The lord is good.

It’s a nice quiet place here. There’s a lost of devotional selection and a lot of clearance items in the back corner. I like their selection in music, but if they don’t have it and you recommend it to them, they’ll write it down and order some for you. The staff there are friendly and enjoy answering any questions you have. They have a punch card program, so make sure you bring that every time you go.
