This place is great! Customer service is so good and the only place for over a year that could get the malware off my computer so I can finally use it. They genuinely care and will keep doing the work until your computer is fixed!

Ian was very helpful with my PC and Laptop! He charged me for repairs to both machines and they were reasonable given the expensive nature of computer repair! I will never again use Geek Squad for computer repair! I highly recommend Computer Sonics for your computer repairs!

Well I just had another great experience at ComputerSonics, but only now at the Lynnwood store. This time Frank helped solve a very difficult problem with my Windows 7 PC. I was previously unable to update Windows 7 which can be rather risky. Frank was very patient and was able to solve the problem. For a short while it looked like I was going to have to reload the entire system which would’ve taken me days. Frank saved the day. Thank you very much for the help of all your staff. Please pass on my personal thanks to Frank.

Brought ASUS netbook to repair clock. Advised needed battery replacement and after they installed, lost everything on hard drive including Tivo download, iTunes, all documents, games purchased, MS Office 2007. Explanation: because drive particitioned C&D and unable to recover anything and still charged me. Extremely disappointed.

I have to say, I couldn’t possibly be happier with a computer repair shop or the repairmen.
I was pretty stressed out and frustrated as most of my computer repair friends live down in Portland and I wasn’t sure which repair shop to try up here. For some reason my processor kept overheating and I thought I needed to replace the heatsink. Long story short, not only did they save me money by informing me that I didn’t need to replace it, they even reseated it for me and totally fixed the problem. The best part? It was for FREE since it literally took them 5 minutes (one of the corner pins on the heatsink is really difficult to lock in which is why I thought I needed a new one originally).
Obviously, I wouldn’t expect anyone to do anything for free (I was honestly ready to pay), but since they were generous enough to not try to sell me something I don’t need and to fix a simple problem for free, I would say I’d trust them to fix any other computer problems I might have in the future.

Good prices. Staff was helpful.
Built me a nice computer in early 09. I put it together cheap, and was better than expected. I’ll be back when I’m ready for my next one.

I bought a desktop from these folks, configured on the web. I did a quick phone call to clarify something about the order. It was ready to collect the same day and has been very reliable.
Having used Fry’s previously, to great frustration, I was in no mood to repeat it.
I usually order online, but this option eliminates the shipping costs and the folks are helpful. I would also start there for repairs next time I need them.
It was a relief to know there is actually a good computer store (besides the Apple store)

I’ve used Computer Sonics for several years now. Good selection, good prices, good customer service and returns. Overall a good place to go if you need computer parts.

Since we don’t have any big-​box computer stores on the north end, and I HATE going to Renton (to Fry’s) for just one small thing. After looking on the internet, I stopped here last week for a power supply for my computer.
It’s no secret that you pay for convenience. Online I priced a 550v power supply for about $ 40 – 50. When I came here to buy the same thing, I pay upwards of $ 75 (for the cheapest one). They don’t really have a large selection, but it’s a small store so I guess I wouldn’t expect them to have too much more. As far as the power supply goes. it works beautifully and I haven’t had any problems thus far, so I’m not really complaining too much.
On the way out of the door, I noticed they had a «Yelp loves us!» sticker on their door. It made me laugh a little.

They tried to hot glue internal parts of my laptop together… Need I say more?

I was thrilled to find this place. I followed other Unilocal user’s advice when looking for a new regular spot to purchase computer hardware. Computer Sonic has amazing prices; I picked up 2 gigs of RAM for $ 60/​GB — the nearest Best Buy wanted over $ 100 for the same.
Not only are the prices great, but the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to the hardware.
The only reason I gave it 4, instead of 5? Because they were NOT knowledgeable about their warranties. When I asked one employee about the extended warranty options for a $ 2,000 laptop I was interested in, the guy said, «uh, um, I don’t know… maybe?» and made absolutely no attempt to find this information for me.
Overall great, if you don’t ask about the warranty.

I heart this place.
It’s closer than Fry’s, it’s cheaper than Fry’s, and I don’t spend an entire pay check here, since it’s not Fry’s.
I like the fact you can order online and pick up your stuff at either store. Just make sure to call them first.
Helpful staff, they don’t talk «down» to you and I don’t feel like I’ve been slimed by a used car salesman…

Since this review is not about Fry’s, I’ll say no more.
This is about a local nerdlair that I have unearthed and need to visit when I have an immediate hardware need that must be satisfied.
It happens more than you might think.
I completely enjoy how there is always at least one of these in every metro area. This one, is the supplemental location to the one in Tukwila. You can’t escape the needs of the nerds that make things work.
Do you ever ask why the metaphorical trains run on time? I know you don’t. Why would you?
We are the hidden gnomes of the secret nerd world. We guard you when you sleep. Don’t fuck with us! :D
Visit this place and give them your money though. Clearly they are cool. They know hardware and have more than what is on their shelves in their warehouse. They have a ton of cases and graphics cards, which is really a good idea even if you’re going to buy other stuff online. You should get some tactile experience happening just to make sure you’re going to like it.
Fair prices as well.
